CMLL FSE GdR - 08/26/07 (#52)
Recapped: 08/26/07
Intro: Olimpico with the announcers, Marco Corelone with the high school spanish promo (so I understand it!) These two have issues re: bodybuilding. Olimpico stalks off right in the middle of the open.
Outside the ring: Dos Caras Jr.
Match 1: Hirooki Goto, Misterioso II (c), Shigeo
Okumura vs Leono, Stuka Jr. (c), Super Nova
Arena Mexico, 07/27/07
Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:46
Approx Rating: Slightly better than usual for this card position.
Other Match Notes: No entrances.
1: Goto and Leono out, with Goto getting out at the first opportunity (enziguri to the had.) Stuka and Misterioso. Misterioso II is looking like Misterioso I this week, with trunks and tasseled boots. Stuka gets lots of flips for no reason, including the monkey flip rebound of the ropes into a backflip. Misterioso is sent out with a springboard spinning armdrags. Stuka teases dive, and then stands there so Okumura can get him with a sloppy headscissors. Leono clothesline, Okumura, Goto clotheslines Leono, Super Nova dropkicks Goto, Misterioso clotheslines Super Nova, Stuka clotheslines Misterioso. Is that everyone? I think so. Tecnicos all go for clotheslines, and all get German suplexed! That's amusing.
2: Beatdown. Triple boot for Super Nova, who looks tiny here. Stuka takes cover charges. Leono does as well. Rudos lift Okumura up and shove his crotch into Leon's head, which seems a lot of work for a little insult. Nova back in, and he's thrown thru the ropes to the floor. Rudos do a triple dive fake, roll and pose. Stuka tries to sneak in the middle, but he's trapped on the mat. Double backdrop for him. Goto's whipped at Stuka, but Stuka backdrops him to the ramp, and chops him there. Super Nova in, and Stuka tosses him out to a big headscissors on Goto. Leono comes in with a springboard dropkick for the other two, and Leono and Stuka hit backbreakers on Okumura and Misterioso. Leono and Stuka go to the apron, and Goto's whipped to them - double backdrop into the ring. Tecnicos back in and raising each other's arms - hey, want to win the fall first? Triple dropkick to knock all the rudos out. Triple dive? They spread out the timing so they can cross paths - Stuka tope, Leono tope Super Nova tope con giro! That was fun. Are they winning this one by count out? Referees are counting both sides out, but Stuka and Misterioso are back in. Misterioso misses a charge, Stuka grabs him on the rebound, and there's the STO. Misterioso is dragged into position, and Nova adds the top rope moonsault one two three.
La Arte Del Catch: Cangrejo Lagunero - a reverse Boston crab
3: Nova dropkicking and armdrags Okumura to start. Okumura pleads for Super Nova to relent, and rolls out while Nova pauses. Goto comes in and runs over Nova with a boot. Stuka checks on Super Nova while Goto poses in the corner. Stuka is being asked to leave, but when he won't, Goto just kicks him. Goto tries the running boot on Super Nova again, Nova blocks it, Nova kick is caught, and there's a pause for a few moments as they discuss what's next. They get the flip in, eventually. Nova off the ropes, and back with a bad headscissors - Goto takes a bad delayed flip bump. Misterioso in, and Super Nova ducks his clothesline, and then gets a fireman's carry escape headscissors. Dive fake. Stuka and Goto in, and Goto's shoulderblock can back up Stuka, but can't knock him down. Stuka slaps him and tells him to do it again - and gives him a drop toe hold on the charge. Okumura in, Stuka blocks his punch and suplexes him onto his partner. Misterioso in, and he gets a shot on Stuka while the others crawl out. Stuka worked over in the corner. Misterioso backs all the way up, but looks at the crowd and doesn't see Super Nova slip in. Super Nova charges, and Misterioso tosses him behind, hitting the corner. Misterioso kick Stuka to keep him in the corner, then charges back at Super Nova, Super Nova moves, and Misterioso spears the post on his way out. Stuka dive? Stuka charges over to the corner, Super Nova backdrops him to the apron, Stuka climbs to the top rope - moonsault to the floor! The other four all in and the tecnicos miss dropkicks. Rudos whips are reversed and they're bounced into each other. Leono tries to boost Super Nova into a dropkick, but Okumura catches him into a powerbomb. STF there, and Goto gives Leono a suplex into a front slam. That's it.
El Diseno de Misterioso
Match 2: Atlantis (c), Olimpico, Toscano vs Alex
Koslov, Marco Corelone (c), Negro Casas
Arena Coliseo, 07/29/07
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 9:23
Approx Rating: Usual
Other Match Notes: Corelone tosses t-shirts out to the crowd as he
enters. No pre-taped promos?
1: Tarzan and Negro have a point to the head contest. It turns into a chop contest, and Negro uses the ropes to get in a big forearm and win that, as usual. Things slow down for the moment while everyone discusses the legality of that. Olimpico and Alex have a fast paced exchange. I don't know why, but I'm noticing how stiff the ring look this week. Women in the crowd are very happy to see Marco in the ring. He does this hip swivel for the crowd and/or Atlantis. Atlantis actually knocks him down, but Marco's up and posing. Atlantis tries to check out his biceps, but Marco knocks him down. Atlantis figures out his best move is just to grab hold of Corelone, so the other two guys can clothesline him down. Corelone over comes the triple team, gets the big punch on Toscano, and the springboard plancha on everyone for the pin.
Q: En que funcion nacio el gusto de ser luchador?
A: Cuando se enfrentaron mascara vs mascara Blue Demon Sr. vs Rayo de Jalisco
Sr.
2: Toscano is making all sorts of fun of Corelone's leaping for some reason. I think we might have had the start of this clipped out. Look at the boom mic sway back and fort at the top of the picture. Anyway, Atlantis and Alex start, with lots of counters. Alex's superkick is the first thing and last thing that hits, because Atlantis goes out of the ring. Alex leapfrogs charges from Tarzan quick a bit, but then puts up the stop sign. Toscano almost takes a bump on stopping. Olimpico tries to charge in, but Alex has a stop sign for him too. Alex blows a kiss, and and Olimpico and Toscano kick his legs. I like how Toscano is mocking Alex for being a pretty boy. Olimpico and Toscano work over Alex on the ropes, including a Toscano kiss slap. Alex reverses a whip and armdrags everyone, then headscissors Olimpico and gives Toscano the jumping enziguri. Wow, zoom in one some fan's bad teeth. That's unfortunate. Back in the ring, Negro's taking over and chopping Toscano, who pauses to get advice from his teammates. Chop fest again. Negro keeps on bending over after taking each chop, so Toscano pulls him up by his hair and chops him again. Negro eventually blocks a chop and kicks Toscano. Negro off the ropes, Toscano throws a clothesline - he thought Negro was going to duck, Negro did not duck, so Toscano just aimed his arm over Negro's head. That was so bad! Negro dropkicks Toscano's knee, and of course that never actually hits either. Atlantis misses a clothesline (Negro actually ducks this time) and Negro dropkick him in the knee too. Finally, Olimpico hits his clothesline, and decks Alex. He goes to deck Corelone, Marco blocks it, so Olimpico pulls him thru the ropes and crotches him. Corner whip, corner clothesline, Olimpico does the hipswivel. On the outside, Tarzan very softly slams Alex, and then leads him on a walking tour of ringside. Atlantis does get a swinging dropkick on him. This is full beatdown, and just when I wonder when the rudos are going to bother winning this fall, Olimpico whips Negro into Atlántida. Did Negro not give up? Oh, right, Corelone's captain. He's booted out, Koslov is brought in, and Olimpico puts him in an inverted nudo. That's the fall.
El Arte del Catch: Cruz Nipona - a cross armbar. I can't recall seeing that before.
3: Rudos are tossing around Negro as the fall starts. Alex gets worked over next, though not with much. Corelone bull rushes Toscano before the rudos get him. Whip, double back elbow, rolled into a bodyscissors, and given a face first powerbomb. Toscano adds a flashy elbow drop. Corner whip, Corelone hits the springboard clothesline on Olimpico, though we were completely obscured by a referee. That's the comeback, and tecnicos punch and kick their revenge. Atlantis and Toscano are held for Corelone to hit the big springboard clothesline on, but they slip out of the way and Negro and Alex take it instead. Atlantis and Toscano grab Corelone - double suplex! Olimpico springboard splash one two THREE! That was surprising. Tecnicos are happy with their win, but makes rue to get in a few last shots for the tecnicos.
Olimpico taunts. Atlantis says the Mexicans are the best! Toscano sings. Olimpico says they're on another level.
