Nice of the Cubs game to go into delay just as this show started.
Intro: Atlantis joins Magadan and Juan. Women's match is going on behind, and we see Lady Apache and Amapola blow a spot pretty bad. I pay more attention to the match than what they're saying, which is odd because I actually care what they're saying for once. Atlantis says he won the internet vote, which I totally do not believe. Announcers find out Atlantis, in fact, already has a belt. This is news. Atlantis ain't putting up his belt, which doesn't seem right - shouldn't Rey GET something instead of having to defend something on his anniversary.
Somewhat Outside The Ring, But Just Up The Aisle Some: they talk to Metalico.
Match 1: Nosferatu, Satanico (c), Virus vs Fabian

Other Match Notes: No entrances, but we get in ring introductions. Who
put Leono in charge? That's a tactical mistake right there. A horrible, horrible
decision.
1: We start with Leono/Satanico in, though Leono and Nosferatu where in last we saw in the ring. Tony armdrags out of a hold, but Satanico takes him down and puts an elbow to the inside of the knee. Tony escapes, only to be put in a tope wristlock. He armdrags out of that, and we have a standoff. Tags? No, they lockup, and Satanico works arm holds, down to a fujiwara, and then to a modified double armbar. Tony's swung on his back and headscissors Satanico there, but Satanico pins him, and Tony has to get shoulders up at two twice. Satanico pushes Tony away, but Tony armdrags him when he goes for his hair. Fabian tries to get in a cheap shot from the outside, and Satanico's had enough of that. Tags to Virus and Fabian. Fabian wastes no time in dorking out. CROWD CHANTS FOR VIRUS! Smart people. Fabian is annoyed. Virus is pleased. Virus chest slaps down Fabian. Fabian kips to his feet quite lamely. I could do that, that bad. Virus charges him, clothesline misses, Fabian with a single leg. Stomp, turn, off the ropes, over, waved by, springboard, armdrag is fine. Virus slides out, Fabian starts charging towards him, and Nosferatu cuts him off. Fabian freaks out, and shakes his butt. Thankfully Nosferatu kicks and chops him down. Nosferatu holds Fabian for Satanico, and we look at the crowd, and look back to see Nosferatu get accidentally booted. Satanico works over Fabian with chops, whip - well, a smart man might have done a tope here. Fabian stops, hops to the apron, sets him self, kick to Nosferatu, Asai Moonsault is fine, thankfully. Leono in and giving Satanico a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Leono stands, staring at Satanico as he gets up, and then moves out of the way just in time as Tony hits a missile dropkick. Tony covers Satanico, and that's officially it, but Leono adds a face first powerbomb and a crossface on Leono.
2: Tony runs right into a kick from Satanico to start the fall. Tony yells at Satanico, So Satanico punches him a few times to get him to shut up. Corner whip, Satanico charges in and kicks, Tony charges out with a sunset flip, Satanico blocks it and punches, Tony moves, gets up, and superkicks him. Tony watches Satanico roll out, and doesn't see Nosferatu come in with a back elbow. Nosferatu corners Tony and slaps him. Corner whip, Tony kips up and out, waits for Nosferatu to come out after him, and runs by to give him a double jump back elbow. Nosferatu slides out, Tony to the apron after him - diving twisting headscissors. Nosferatu is grabbing his knee like it's twisted, and Satanico checks on him while Virus and Leono come in. Virus off the ropes, over, under, rolling over, posing. Not a good idea, Leono just back elbows him down. Leono is generically fired up. Corner whip, reversed, Virus charge into double boots, Leono runs out backwards to flip over the monkey flip, Leono off the ropes, ducking a clothesline, getting in a spinning headscissors, off the ropes, dive tease, Leono yell. Satanico comes in and mockingly claps for him. Satanico reaches out of a hand for a shake. Leono thinks about choking him - and Satanico grabs the arm and twists. Leono is forced back in the corner, and held by the other rudos for Satanico to punch repeatedly. This is against the rules, but I don't think the rudos care. Nosferatu sees Fabian coming and cuts him off with a boot. Chest slap to him, shot for Tony to be sure. Satanico throws Leono around by his hair while Nosferatu works over Fabian. He gets tossed too. Tony tries to charge in, and Nosferatu gets him. Satanico grabs Tony's bandana, and pulls it down so it's covering Tony's eyes! That's why Satanico is considered an evil genius. Blinded, Tony's thrown around by his hair repeatedly. He managed to roll out to the floor. Fabian back in - Leon got out when we weren't watching. Fabian's held on the ropes, though struggling. Satanico taunts him and the crowd. Punches to the chest. Fabian is let go, just to roll out. Leono in and trying to make a run, but Virus stops him with questionably low knees. Leono's whipped into a Nosferatu spear. Triple submission pose, and that's it. Rudos work over Tony for good measure.
El Arte de Catch: Nudo Rosa - it's easier just to call it a Rosa.
3: For a brief second, it looks like it's back to even/even, but the rudos jump Tony. And then, after we see the fall graphic, it is back to even even. Huh. Nosferatu gets a half crab on Tony, but Leono rushes into break it up with a dropkick. Chop. Nosferatu and Leono have trouble starting a chop exchange, but eventually get it going. Whip, backdrop by Leono, elbow drop, cover one two Satanico grabs Leono by his hair to pull him off. Leono gets tossed around his hair even more. Again, this is a match theoretically booked to set up Virus/Tony, but in reality, not so much - more so for other feuds. Satanico gets a step over armbar, and Fabian poses before running off the ropes twice to set up a - kidney punch? Tries to draw the low blow, no luck. Virus in, and exchanging chops. Fabian get a single leg, but Virus kicked him away. Back to chops, but Virus does the windup with the right, left cross to knock him down bit. Crowd approves. Texas Cloverleaf! Tony breaks that up with a flying axhandle. Tony tries to hit a wheel kick, but it's miserable - he does a nice job of trying to get an inside cradle form it, but it's still not good. Satanico in to cheap shot him, and it's another brawl. Crowd is behind Tony, and he looks at them to get strength - and to start kicking. Satanico chops him back. Whip, Satanico connects on the back elbow, and waves in his partners. Tony's taken to the ropes, whipped into the corner, running back elbow by Virus and he goes out that way. Leono is cornered, and Fabian is knocked off the apron. Corner whip for Leono, Nosferatu rushes in and hits the jumping plancha, Leono stumbles out, and Satanico kicks him down. Nosferatu knees Leon out for good measure. Fabian in and hit from behind. Chops. Corner whip, Virus whipped in after him, Fabian waves him him by, but Fabian runs into a backdrop. Nosferatu dropkicks Fabian out, and starts running - TOPE! Leono and Tony back in, but missing dropkicks. Rudos for bulldogs, but get shoved off. What are the tecnicos going to do now? They're not quite sure! Are they going to try for bulldogs? Did they not see what just happened? Tecnicos get shoved off, spin each other around and eventually get kicked by the rudos. Satanico gets a standing double armbar on Tony, and Virus gets his usual layout front suplex, half crab/armbar on Leono.
Magadan talks to the winners. Virus says he doesn't need the fans cheers when he's got this awesome team. Rudos are the greatest, he explains.

Match 2: Atlantis vs Rey
Bucanero for the CMLL Light Heavyweight Championship.

Approx Rating: FUN. I can't defend this as being super great, but I enjoyed
it.
Other Match Notes: I had no idea it was Pretty Boy Tecnico week.
Atlantis is the NWA Light Heavyweight Champion, but it sure seems irrelevant
here. Maybe if Rey wins, he gets a shot at both belts. (No.) This is the Rey
Bucanero Anniversary Celebration match - much like his tecnico push, they
treated it like it was a big thing for a short while, and then pulled the carpet
out as quick as possible.
No entrances! Someone's been listening to me! SCARY. Maximo is Rey's second, Emilio Charles is Atlantis. So it's not like Ultimo or Toscano was even available to be here. Atlantis says he's the Rey. Rey says he's not going to lose tonight.
1: We join during mat wrestling, and seconds away from a hiptoss that causes them to break and circle, so I really should start there. Atlantis with a takedown, and he forces Rey's legs apart, sometimes while posing. Rey goes on his back to force Atlantis up, but almost gets pin. Rey switches to a front facelock and runts it over, to get Atlantis pinned, but only for two. Look at a mom and daughter in the crowd. Circle. Rey with an armbar takedown, into a crossface. Lots of crossface on this show. I don't think he's going to win on his own. Rey spins Atlantis on his back, for a backslide, one two no. Atlantis gets Rey's back, bodyscissors him over to his back, and back bridges over him, one two no. Look at the crowd, looking at the match. I envy them, they get to see all of this. They're circling each other as we return, Atlantis perturbed by the crowd. Let's look at the crowd again. Rey's down as we return, but he's quickly back up and dropkicking. Atlantis pauses to yell at people on the outside. They stop to look at the crowd. Lockup, no, Atlantis armdrags, and another. Zero leg trip by Atlantis. This a bit slow. Atlantis get an armbar, wristlock forces Rey down, but Rey kips up to reverse, Atlantis trips Rey for zero, armdrags, Rey feeds himself for another armdrag, Rey with a legscissors cradle, one two THREE. Wow, didn't see that coming.

I think we still would've been stuck with el Hijo del Solitairo.
2: Rey is running thru Atlantis with armdrags and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker as we start. He asks the fans if they want one more, and then directly runs into a powerbomb. Atlantis covers and puts his feet on the ropes - and that's it. BOOO. Not even a minute.
3: Atlantis poses on the middle rope as Rey recovers in between falls. Fall starts off with an Atlantis slam. Stomp. Let's look at the crowd, Atlantis slowly goes out. Rey dropkicks him, and Atlantis slowly goes out. Rey goes out a little faster, with a slingshot tope con giro. Both are down on the floor, and the corner men are working their towels. Rey crawls in and collapse. Gee, I wonder what will happen here. There's the cavernaria. Rey does not break the streak of people who do not submit to this, though it two arm drops and a third one to tease it. Crowd behind Bucanero, but it's not loud or nothing. Whip, Rey puts his head down way too soon, and Atlantis lifts him up into an inverted Gory stretch. Atlantis is battling to keep it on, and Rey is battling not vie up. Atlantis fights to pull himself up for a victory roll, Atlantis reverses it one two NO. That was a long two count. Atlantis looks around. Perhaps you ought to try the Atlántida, dude. Nah, Gedo clutch, one two no. Ref checks on both men, if they can go on. They're selling exhausting. Atlantis up and over the rope, splash, one two-th-NO. Emilio can't believe the counts his man is getting here. Emilio really has grown his hair out, I'd be shocked if he doesn't lose it in the next couple of months. Atlantis powerbomb Rey, not near the ropes this time. Atlantis puts all his body weight on Rey, one two NO. Did Atlantis celebrate too soon and lose the pin that way? A little bit. Slam, and Atlantis stomps on Rey before heading up. Wait, no, he's posing on the apron. Atlantis pose. Now he's goes up - top rope tope con giro - hits! I think even Atlantis was surfside on that way. Atlantis lays back on Rey, but I guess the ref wants him he's pinning himself and he has to readjust, when means we get a one, and then another one two NO. Atlantis is confused, because he heard three, and argues with the fans a bit. Rey ain't moving, so Atlantis picks him up - Rey small package on two NO! Rey is despondent. Bodyscissors cradle by Bucanero, one two NO. This is a BATTLE. Both up, Rey drawing from the crowd. Atlantis 'rana, Rey rolls thru, one two NO. I thought it was a convincing near fall (if not for the time on the lock), but you could see Alexis walking by in the background, not concerned about taking a photo, so not everyone felt that way. Atlantis slides Rey chest first to the floor. Rey gets up, just in time to see Atlantis come at him with a tope. Both down in the aisle. Rey in first, Atlantis takes his time getting, then stumbles near the apron. Rey's waiting for him in the ring, and I think Atlantis is taking his time. Rey tries to posed him, but Atlantis blocks and smashes Rey into the turnbuckle three times. Top rope plancha, Rey rolls thru, one two thr-NO! Atlantis needs to take a deep breath after that one. Both slow up. Rey thrown into the corner, and Atlantis backs up to charge. Rey jumps up, corner sunset flip. Atlantis reveres and grabs the ropes in an most obvious fashion, one two - no, the ref saw it, even though Maximo was freaked that he wouldn't, and they argue about it. Both men slow to the feet. Rey misses a clothesline, Atlantis goes for a bodyscissors, Rey reveres that into the Buca Storm one two th-three? two? TWO. Maximo is livid at that call. Rey shakes his fists at the ceiling. he's drawing from the crowd again. Rey goes for a leg hold, Atlantis small package one two NO! Okay, we're about to hit the limit on near falls. Atlantis can't take much more of this himself. Crowd behind Bucanero. Rey charges Atlantis, ATLANTID-NO, Rey slips loose to the apron. Atlantis never had him en total. Rey spills back in, and Atlantis forces him in the corner. Running shoulder to the midsection. Running shoulder to the midsection. Right hands to the head by Atlantis, just punching the man like he's got nothing else to do. Atlantis appears for a timeout from the ref, but no go. Atlantis comes back to Rey, corner whip, charge in, Rey moves out of the way, Atlantis bounces out of the corner, inside cradle one two THREE!
Crowd is thrilled. Maximo is thrilled. Rey is thrilled, then exhausted, then some more thrilled. Rudo fans aren't so happy. Atlantis is beside himself. Bello Greco gives Rey the belt, and shrugs at Atlantis. Emilio argues the count, but that never works. Atlantis fans in the crowd argue the finish. Atlantis gives Rey credit for a good match, but demands a rematch. Rey says he'll be happy to fight the legend Atlantis - in a hair/mask match. Atlantis kicks Rey down in response, and walks off celebrating.
That's it.
