Match 1: Eclipse (c), Misterioso II, Okumura vs Leono, Sagrado (c), Tony Rivera
Arena Coliseo, 07/08/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 9:26
Approx Rating: Usual
Other Match Notes: No entrances. Who put Eclipse in charge? A tragic mistake.

1: Misterioso and Leono start on the mat, and then we get the battle of failed hype, Sagrado and Eclipse. They do not even try chain wrestling. Eclipse doesn't do much beside be a platform for Sagrado's move, up to a top rope plancha to the floor. Tony in - I think we missed his opening sequence with Okumura - backdropping Misterioso, getting backdropped to the apron by Okumura. Leono takes down Okumura, and Tony adds the frog splash (seen better) for the pin. Leono finish off Okumura for the fall.

2: Leono hiptoss and headscissors Okumura, but gets cut off by a Misterioso back elbow. Pause to taunt. Whip, reversed, Leono charges, Misterioso tosses him, Leno land so the apron and kicks him away. Spinning headscissors is fine. Misterioso misses the clothesline, Leono hits the enziguri kick to the upper back, at least that's close. Tags to Tony and Eclipse. Eclipse hits an awful clothesline which they gamely try to hide. Punches. Whip, clothesline misses, back elbow misses, Eclipse grabs him - I guess that's a choke? Okay, now he's pressing Tony up, but of course he drops Tony on his feet. No one ever actually takes a bump from a press slam! Eclipse kicks Tony, sets up for the powerbomb, but throws him self into a Tony faceslam. Tony sends Eclipse out with a bodyscissors armdrags, and Misterioso is in before Tony can do any more. Tony ducks the clothesline, hiptosses Misterioso, and gives him a springboard armdrags out. Double knee gutbuster for Okumura as he comes in, and Tony's cleared the side. Sagrado in - his mask is very shiny. He calls in Eclipse, which seems like a bad idea. Okumura kicks Sagrado a couple times, and apparently that's the signal to start the beatdown. Misterioso and Okumura come in to cut off Leono and Tony, but Leono and Tony haven't come in - I guess they don't think it's the beatdown yet either. Double boot for Sagrado. Now Tony's in - Okumura does a nice apron tope con giro here from nowhere. Misterioso gets a FU on Tony, and Eclipse adds a standing moonsault. I know I'm supposed to be impressed, but the move didn't look good and, more so, now I have no respect for the standing moonsault. Eclipse just did one! I also love how all big guys just do lesser quality version of smaller guy's moves. Misterioso finishes off Leono in a turn about of fisherman's suplex.

El Diseno de: Super Nova.

3: Beatdown. Tony's worked over with chops, and held for a while to set up a Okumura missile dropkick. It does connect. Sagrado is set up for the GdI sit, but Tony and Leono pull up Okumura when he backs up to the ropes. Misterioso gets beat up when he goes out to help, and Sagrado headscissors Eclipse out. All three tecnicos in - triple tope! Tony and Misterioso back in, Tony 'rana, one two Okumura breaks it up. They're out, Leono in, flapjack, elbows drops to the back, out to the apron, springboard elbow drop, cover, one and Eclipse breaks it up. Sagrado in, he ducks an Eclipse clothesline and superkicks him. Slam and springboard moonsault, Tony & Leono cut off the other two guys, one two three.

Match 2: Universo 2000 vs Dos Caras Jr. for the CMLL Heavyweight Championship
Arena Coliseo, 07/08/07

  1. Universo STF (2:48)
  2. Dos Caras Jr. cross armbreaker (1:34)
  3. Dos Caras Jr. small package (6:19)

Winner: Dos Caras Jr., 14th Champion
Match Time: 10:41
Approx Rating: Not bad, but didn't mean much. Crowd did care, so that's something.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed entrances. Universo has a short pretaped promo before the match. I am shocked to see he actually has the belt, and they didn't have to, like, make a new one before they could have this match. Dos has a row of people wearing his mask.

1: Lockup, Universo with an armbar, Dos trips him to the mat and hold his leg down. Universo grabs Dos by the armpits and rolls back - why? - so Universo ends up holding Dos above him while pinning himself. Universo lets go in time to escape, and Dos immediately puts him in a half crab. Universo crawls, and then appears to crawl the other way. Ah, he's picking the other leg, that's actually smart of him. Universo can't every really get a hold of the leg, so he switches to the other, trips Dos down, and holds him down by he legs as was going the other way a bit ago. Dos has a better plan from this position, hooking Universo head and grabbing him in a hammerlock. They battle up to their feet, where Universo reveres out into a half nelson. Dos kinda sort picks the leg, but not really, and they split apart. Universo makes angry faces. Dos waves at the crowd some. Lots of crowd shots. Universo gets an armbar, Dos flips to a reversal and Universo slides out. Mascara massages Universo's lower back, which would seem to be against the rules but whatever. Universo back in, and Dos gets him with a dropkick. Wave to the crowd. Headlock! Universo shoves him off towards the corner, Dos climbs up the ropes, moonsaults over Universo, and throws a superkick. Universo has that scouted, blocking and tripping Dos to the mat. STF! That's it! Universo celebrates being slightly effective. Universo does not look like he's been adding to his training regime coming into this match - much the other way.

The tribute to Ulises Carbajal airs again.

2: Universo is tossing Dos around as we look at the ring girl. Whip, takedown, Universo off the ropes, senton, one two NO. We're into the slow count part of our program. Hey, a fan wearing a Universo mask. Universo kicks Dos he gets up/draws from the crowd. Standing over double armbar by Universo, but Dos won't give. Universo switches to a grounded crucifix pin, one two, referee said Dos kicked out before he actually did, but whatever. Universo argue with the ref, whip, hiptoss, sitting on top deep leg hook pin, one two no. Dos points to the crowd as he gets up, so Universo gets to attack him from behind again. Corner whip, Universo charges, Dos moves, Universe hits the corner and rebounds out into a powerslam. Look at the crowd rooting for Dos, since Dos isn't doing anything. Back in the ring, Dos sets up for the German suplex, guess it's still not happening because he switches to an arm scissors into a cross armbreaker.

El Arte Del Catch - El Cangrejo: Boston crab, though we see more of the guy who takes it yelling than the move itself.

3: Seems like there's a clip here. We're quickly back to Dos posing on the ground for support and getting kicked in the back. Whip, Dos runs oddly, he hooks the ropes, Universo charges, Dos moves and Universo throws him out of the ring. Dos running - and just barely landing the springboard without crashing back into the ring - plancha to the floor. Replays show how unsteady that looked. Dos is in first, Universo is in behind him, by law we must have a cavernaria here. Dos, in fact, does not become the first guy in years to end a singles match in this fashion. He breaks the chinlock like everyone else. Half crab - or miedo cangrejo (look, I'm learning) - by Universo, but Dos is really close to the ropes. He only has to make a slight effort to get to them. Universo never actually lets go of Dos' foot, not even as Dos stands on his other foot. Enziguri is no surprise. Camel clutch looks odd - Dos is leaning all the way forward like an MMA choke, I guess. Universo kicks Dos out, oh, Universo tope. Both guys down again. At this point, I don't think this match is actively bad, it's just not much good. Dos makes it in the ring first. Unvierso's clothesline has no effect. Universo's clothesline still has no effect. Despite the fact they are having no effect, Dos ducks the third one and superkicks Universo. 'rana - no, Universo drops him on his head with a powerbomb and hooks the bottom rope, one two NO. Referee caught the bottom rope bit a little late. Universo inside cradle, one two no. Universo pulled him into the move with tights yank, but then lets go. Universo with a chop, and a slam. Is he going up? Dos is getting up a bit as Universo gets to the ropes. Ah, Universo is waiting for him - fat man plancha, Dos rolls thru one two NO. I don't think Universo will be putting that move on his highlight real. He had all the grace of a sack of potatoes. Universo whip, Dos checks the 619 fake out off his list, Universo misses a clothesline, Dos stops him with a kick, grabs Universo by the head and waves to the crowd. Press - Dos is having a lot of trouble keeping Universo up, and on the second attempt to press him all the way up, Universo slips free. Dos grabs him for the German, but Universo desperately grabs the ropes and back elbows Dos away. Universo turns around, and Dos small packages him one two three. Fans react like it's a big deal, which is nice of them.

Haha, the Universo fan is getting taunted! That's the best part of this match. Replays - Universo was battling to get out but couldn't, though they keep showing only the one angle and actually bail out of the replay when we could see the reverse side, which makes me wonder. Eh, it looked clean on TV, that's all that matters.. Dos does an out of breath celebratory interview.

That's it.
