CMLL GdR - 08/04/07 (#89)
Recapped: 08/04-11/07

Intro: Dark Angel does a pre-taped promo, Amapola runs in on the announcer to interrupt.

Outside the ring: Dos Caras Jr. Exciting footage of Dos Jr. and Dos Caras Sr. looking at bills at the dinner table. We do see Dos Jr. unmasked - in a photo from when he was like 7. These video clips give you the impression Dos Caras Jr., Heavyweight Champion Of The World, is living at his parent's house. I don't think that's quite right.

Match 1: Amapola, La Nazi, Princesa Sujei (c) vs Dark Angel, Diana La Cazadora, Marcela (c)
Arena Coliseo, 07/29/07

  1. rudas
  2. rudas

Winner: Rudas (2-0)
Match Time: 9:50
Approx Rating: Build up next week right well.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed over entrances. Marcela enters last with her belt, and Amapola attacks her and hits her with the belt.

1: Ruda beatdown, with Amapola working over Marcela a lot and the other rudas running interference. Random break in the middle of the fall! Five minutes later, we pick up exactly where we left off, and are 'treated' to the fall graphic again. Al the tecnicos end up in the wring being worked over, and Sahori and Dark Angel are whipped into each other. Rudas end up cleaning the ring, though they're not so interested in winning this fall. Sahori gets brought in and throws around by her hair a bunch. Marcela is drop toe hold-ed onto the ropes for an Amapola running sit on the back, and Amapola finishes her off with a suastica.

2: Beatdown continues, although Sujei still has time to steal the fall card. Marcela is held in the corner for an Amapola dropkick. Marcela just reveres a whip into a backbreaker to turn the tide, but Nazi and Sujei pay attention and boot her down before she can get going. Sujei and Amapola drop elbows on Marcela, and Nazi adds the big splash. Amapola drag and throws Marcela around by her hair while the other rudas continue to keep Marcela out. Amapola goes out after her for more, while the rudas boot Dark Angel and work over Sahori. Amapola brings Marcela back in, and gets her with a spinning back elbow. Pin? No, Amapola is just going to kick Marcela before. This has been one sided for a long tie - but then there was that five minute break in there. Marcela's worked over in the corner. Rudas take a second to taunt the crowd. Corner whip, Marcela moves, and Amapola get drop toe hold-ed into the middle ropes. Comeback from there. Nazi and Sujei manage to keep Dark Angel and Sahori from doing anything, but they're completely oblivious to Marcela throwing Amapola around by her hair. A big spike DDT finally gets their attention, but that jus at allows Dark Angel and Sahori to attack them from behind, and finally the comeback is on. Nazi and Sujei get knocked out of the ring and the other tecnicas leave Amapola for Marcela. Corner whip, reversed, but Marcela comes off the middle rope to dropkick Amapola out. Marcela starts going for a dive, but Sujei and Nazi cut her out and both get in the ring. Dark Angel gets Sujei with a nice headscissors, , and then tricks her into kicking La Nazi. They argue, Dark Angel chops them both, they chase Dark Angel into a Sahori plancha, Nazi and Sujei catch Sahori, and Dark Angel dropkicks Sahori on top. Dropkicks knock the rudas out, Dark Angel teases a dive, Rudas move, and Angel boots Sahori into a pescado on Nazi. Before hitting a tope of her own on Sujei. Captains back in - Marcela with a double underhook backbreaker one two NO. Marcela was sure that was it, but she goes back to pointing to the crowd. Marcela tries a clothesline, Amapola blocks and catches, double underhook faceslam! One two three! Straight falls.

Amapola celebrates for a half second, then marches directly to the commissioner to demand a shot at the belt! She's not wasting time here. Amapola must've heard what she wanted, because he's back in the ring and taunting the crowd. Ah, now she's got a microphone to make her challenge a bit louder and directly to Marcela. Amapola puts down the microphone for Marcela to respond, but Marcela walks off the other direction to talk to the rowdy tecnico fans. Marcela agrees to the match, so that's next week.

Juan Carlos talks to Amapola - wait, no, Amapola rips the microphone away to rant. She's winning the title next week, for sure. Marcela says she's a professional and will keep the title next week.

El Arte de Catch: La Mecedora - this is that weird grounded rocking horse move.

Match 2: Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca (c), Virus  vs La Mascara (c), La Sombra, Tony Rivera
Arena Coliseo, 07/29/07

  1. rudos
  2. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-0)
Match Time: 8:22
Approx Rating: This seemed like Tony having the worst day ever than the match that sets up a hair match.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed over entrances. Why does Sombra and Misterioso do the interviews? And Sangre and Mascara are the captains? Tony and Virus would seem to be the least important people here.

1: Sangre and Mascara start, just to reminds us they have issues, with mat wrestling. It sounds like someone random tests an open microphone to see if it's working during this - there's just this random voice in the mix talking over people. Mascara sends Sanger out with a monkey flip and a dropkick. Tony and Misterioso next, with more chain wrestling. RANDOM BREAK IN THE FALL. Well, Tony and Misterioso were probably just finishing up, but this is so annoying. Tony quickly takes a double gutbuster after we return. Mascara gets Sangre's flying stomp dropkick. Sombra gets a running boot from Virus right to the face. Tony is brought back, but he dusk a double clothesline and dropkicks Sangre out. Rudos get him and corner whip him, but Tony evades the charge and headscissors Misterioso out. They can't go more than 10 seconds without showing someone in the crowd this week. Tony gets Virus with a superkick, Sangre trips him up and kicks him out, Sombra sends Sangre out with a flying headscissors, and Mascara gives Sangre a weak tope. Sombra moves out of the way of a Misterioso charge, Misterioso goes to the floor, and Sombra follows with a top rope moonsault. Tony and Virus back in. Tony ducks a clothesline, escapes a tilt-a-whirl, blocks a kick, and watches as Virus fakes a foul. Refs buy it, and that's the fall. Mascara and Sombra buy it too! They're totally angry with Tony for costing them that fall. Tony eventually gets the fans to convince them, but no luck with the referees.

So we couldn't finish that first fall in one segment, but they've got time for a billion replays. I dunno.

Random Trivia (/filler)
Q: Quienes son los tios de Sombra?
A: Zafiro, Diamante, Espanto Jr.

El Arte Del Catch: Lots of time to fill here this week. Like they could've fit the last fall from another match. Anyway, this is La Quebradora, which is your standard backbreaker. No tilt-ing or wheel-ing here.

2: Looking at the clock, I think they might have a bit of trouble having two falls hair. I think that's a hint. Ring girl has to step around La Sombra to get to the ring, much to her obvious annoyance. Rudos beating down the tecnicos, though not for long. Mascara gets whipped, slides out, Misterioso slides out after him, Mascara charges Misterioso, Misterioso tosses him, Mascara lands on the apron and jumps back with a headscissors. That's a different sort of comeback. Sombra comes in with the Mistico special springboard dropkick on Virus. Sangre tries to clothesline Sombra, Sombra full nelsons him, Tony heads up - oh no, his missile dropkick hits Sombra. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were building to a Tony turn here. It's not been a good day for Mr. Rivera. Tony ducks a Sangre punch in an odd spot, but Virus hooks him in a full nelson. Sangre heads off the ropes for a clothesline, but Sombra trips him. Tony breaks free and superkicks Virus into the ropes, then sends Sangre into Virus's crotch with a drop toe hold. My gosh, the refs are thinking of calling a DQ on that! I think it's only going to be a stern warning, by as the referees turn to discuss it with Sombra on the outside, Virus low blows uppercuts Tony from behind, inside cradles him, one two three! Holy smokes does it suck to be Tony Rivera today.

La Mascara looks at though he may kill Tigre Hispano for this match, and some of the fans seem with him. Replays - Misterioso grabbed Mascara and prevented him from getting in at the end. Virus gets interviewed: "Foul, What Foul?"  He's just got mad skills. Tony makes the hair/hair challenge after the match, and Virus tries to assault him rather than answer. Rudos jump the tecnicos, and we go out with a brawl.

That's it.
