CMLL GdR - 07/21/07 (#87)
Recapped: 07/22/07

Intro includes Maximo, who keeps rubbing up on Magadan. Loco Max cuts a promo wearing a Black Spiderman outfit.

Outside the ring: Maximo. This clips make it appear as though he's living with his family, which may be true for all I know. We see his (a) sister and mother but no one else - though a lot of photos with other people.

Match 1: Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Halloween, Mr. Aguilita, Fire, Sombrita vs Bam Bam, Pequeño Olímpico, Bracito de Oro, Fantasy, Electrico in a cibernetico
Arena Mexico, 07/13/07

Winner: Mini Damian 666
Match Time: 16:53
Approx Rating: Rough in parts, but overall good. Hopefully, this becomes an annual deal.
Other Match Notes: No entrances, though we do get a big spinning graphic of all the participants. Winner gets a trophy. There's a clip in here, but it appears there's no battle royal - we've got teams of 5 rudos and 5 tecnicos.

Fantasy and Fire start. Lockup, break. Lockup, battle over hammerlocks. Fantasy gets one and a front facelock.  Fire escapes out into a hammerlock of his own. To the a front facelock, but Fantasy slips thru to a full nelson. Fire tries to get a fireman's carry, but Fantasy counters with a drop toe hold. Fantasy holds on with a legs scissors, then spins around into a fujiwara. Fire's trapped in the ring, but flips over to his back, and locks onto Fantasy as they both back bridge up. Fire turns it around so he's got Fantasy in a gutwrench as they stand, Fantasy tries to backdrop out of it, Fire holds on thru for a sunset flip, Fantasy rolls thru, Fire gets his feet up to block any dropkick, Fantasy backflips over the raised feet, Fire stands up and kicks, Fantasy catches it, Fire flips off of him, standoff. Mat wrestling!

Tags to Mr. Aguilita and Bracito de Oro. Circling. Lockup, Aguila with a waistlock, out into a headlock, spinning into an armbar, wristlock and trip for Bracito. Bracito kips up and armdrags out. Bracito holds on, twists the arm, pushes Aguila down, ties Aguila right arm around his leg, and drops his knee on the shoulder. Bracito holds on, but Aguila picks Bracito's leg and trips him up. Bracito rolled to his feet, but he armdrags Aguila down. Bracito tries a punch, Aguila catches it, chest slap, running up the ropes, off the top rope armdrag. Both up, and Bracito just runs over Aguila wit ha charge. Aguila runs over and shoves him back, but Bracito is only shoved. Tags.

Halloween - who's cut off the sleeves of his white dress shirt and is still wearing it - versus Bam Bam. Lockup, break. Lockup, break. Halloween yelling. Chest slap by Halloween, kick to Bam Bam, midsection, and Halloween flips over Bam Bam's back. Bam's punch is block, his kick is caught, and Halloween sweeps the leg. Bam Bam stops to spit at Bam Bam, and tag gives Bam Bam enough time to get in a drop toe hold. Bam Bam stomps Halloween on the way to the ropes, but Mini Halloween trips him (almost looked like Bam Bam tripped himself.) Halloween off the ropes, Bam Bam tries him. No one's running anywhere! Bam Bam with a double wrist armdrag, holds on, but Mini Halloween gets his on. Now we're onto the zero leg trips, and shoves, and - break, aw.

I bet they clipped stuff out here.

We return with Bracito de Oro and Sombrita in the ring. Sombrita lands an armdrag, holds onto the arm, picks Bracito up. Whip, reveres, and Bracito does a backdrop, only for Sombrita to hold on for a sunset flip. Bracito is fighting it - look in the background, and you can see Mini Halloween going around to the ring, limping to his corner - and Bracito stays true to the gimmick but landing a (mini) big sit. One two three. They show us Sombrita's graphic, and it explodes.

Fire immediately in for his side, whip, armdrags, dropkick, and out goes Bracito. Fire setting up for a dive, but Bam Bam cuts him off with a backdrop. Bam Bam misses on a punch, Fire yanks him down by his hair  - Asai Moonsault to Bracito de Oro! That looked great.

Aguila in for the rudos, and he catches Bam Bam by the hair when he tries to slip thru the rudo's legs. Aguila pulls him in waistlock, Bam Bam elbows out, snap mare flips behind Aguila, and yanks him down by his hair. Bam Bam off the ropes, spinning headscissors. Bam Bam waves to the fans, off the ropes, bodyscissors - reversed into a face first powerbomb. Aguila calls for a flip, but Bam Bam's out and Electrico's in.

Aguila misses a clothesline, Electrico gets a springboard bodyscissors cradle, one two NO. Electrico waved into the ropes, springboard - and Aguila dropkicks. That's Sangre's move! One two three. For the 30 seconds we saw him, Electrico looked talented but green.

Fantasy in and missing a wild clothesline on Aguila. Aguila tries for a springboard bulldog, but, Fantasy reverses it to a face first side slam. Fantasy off the ropes, dropkick to the head.

Fantasy makes the mistake to point to the crowd, and turns around to see Mini Damian has come in for his partner, and has a clothesline ready to behead Fantasy. Whip, Mini Damian tosses Fantasy, Fantasy backflips off Damian's shoulders - landing on his knees, oops and ow - Mini Damian misses a clothesline, Fantasy off the ropes, and back with a twisting headscissors.

Again Fantasy turns to look at the crowd, and again he gets clotheslined by a new rudo. This time it's Fire. Stomp. Whip, reversed by Fantasy, and Fire comes back with a springboard tope con giro. Fire stays on top for the pin, one two no. Fire slams Fantasy and heads up to the middle rope, springboard to the ropes, moonsault but Fantasy's long gone. Fantasy flips Fire over and set shim up - quebrada! One two three. Referee made that count a bit slow.

This time, Fantasy is ready, and ducks Mini Halloween's punch, knocking him down with one of his own. Fantasy pulls up Mini Halloween only to get punched. Fantasy catches a kick, but but Halloween knocks him out with the reverse spinning heel kick. Halloween waives in Aguila, and tosses him to the top rope for a dive, but Aguila losses his balance and drops back to the mat. Oops. Some boos for that. Aguila does a Asai Moonsault instead, which is nice but no cares at that point.

Mimi Halloween takes down Bracito de Oro as he comes in. There's some crotch chops. Back elbow. Whip, Halloween drops down, and Bracito splashes him on the back. Mini Halloween probably should've that one over again. Bracito off the ropes, and reveres a fireman's carry into an another armdrag. Mini Halloween off the ropes, sunset flip, Bracito goes for the big sit, Mini Halloween moves out of the way, and Bracito hits mat. Halloween chops him, load him up on his back, and drops him with a behind the back powerbomb. One two three.

Mini Olimpico comes in, but Mini Halloween works him over with chest slaps. Whip, reversed, reversed, which ends up with Mini Olimpico in the ropes and Mini Halloween still holding him. Halloween tries to sneak in a short clothesline, but Olimpico ducks under it, and Halloween ends up boinking himself on the apron. Olimpico back sup, charges, and gives Mimi Halloween and sliding dropkick to knock him to the floor.

Damian in for his side, and chopping, but Olimpico wins the chest slap battle. Wristlock, but slaps, up the ropes, and off with a top rope armdrags. Fantasy in, jumping to the top rope - and falling back off, awww. They're not having much luck with that tonight. Like Aguila, Fantasy steps thru the ropes to the apron for a dive, but he wins more people back with a nice tight spinning tornillo.

Bam Bam and Aguila in. Bam Bam blocks Aguila's chop, scoops him on his shoulders, slams him down, and heads up top quick. Top rope splash one two three.

Mini Damian in, and Bam Bam misses a clothesline on him. Bam Bam makes another pass, but Damian lifts him into a over the shoulder backbreaker, and drops him him on his face. Damián off the ropes, dropkick knocks Bam Bam out.

Fantasy back in, and connecting on Mini Damian with a nice dropkick. Fantasy yells, look, off the ropes, to Damian's shoulders, and spinning around into a bodyscissors cradle one two no. Chops. Corner whip, Fantasy charges in, Damián catches him and puts him on the top rope, chops, pulling him off, spinning valaguesa! One two three.

Mini Olimpico and missing a clothesline. Damián get the best of him with chops. Whip, Damian misses a clothesline, Olimpico back with a satellite armdrag - he just barley hung on for that. Damian collides into the ropes.

Halloween in and kicking Mini Olimpico. Big boot, and chops to knock Olimpico down. Whip, reversed, Mini Halloween gets slide to the floor on his chest. Mini Olimpico sizes them up, leaps to the apron - and gets tripped to the floor by the mini rudos. Both go back in, Mini Damián drops to his knees. Mini Halloween runs off Mini Damian's back, up the ropes (carefully) and lands a top rope plancha on Olimpico.

Bam Bam comes in, but Damián dropkicks him out the other side of the ring head up. Top rope plancha there too.

Aguila and Olimpico come back in the ring. Whip, reversed, Olimpico's standing in the middle of the ring and Halloween kicks him. Halloween slaps Olimpico on the back, jumps on hi back, and gets a bodyscissors powerbomb - let's say torito - one two NO. Both a little slow up. Halloween with chops, whip, reversed, Mini Halloween with a spinning headscissors, Halloween almost loses it, and Olimpico counters it to a face first powerbomb anyway. One two - and Mini Damian breaks it up. You can't do that! Referee explains you can't do it, but Damián don't care. Both rudos beat down Olimpico with a flurry of punches and kicks. Announcers are debating the legalness of all this - I bet you can guess which side Magadan is taking. Whip, Mini Damian lifts up Olimpico and Mini Halloween pulls him down into the double knee gutbuster. Mini FdT pose. Mini Damian with the giant swing, and Mini Halloween ads a dropkick. Both cover! One two three. I guess you don't want the champ to go down clean?

Bam Bam back in, but met with kicks. Double whip for him, Halloween  tosses him, Bam Bam tries for a 'rana on Damián but it's blocked, and Halloween adds the running dropkick. Halloween covers while Damian poses, one two NO he pulled him up! Always a bad move. FdT debate which corner to whip Bam Bam into. Mini Damián whipped in after, Bam Bam moves, and Damián spear the post while his partner is looking the wrong way. Double jump 'rana to the floor by Bam Bam! That was great. Bam Bam quick to the apron, fighting off Halloween with a kick and slighting in over his back. Backbreaker! Bam Bam waves to the crowd for support. Halloween with a bodyscissors cradle one two NO. We're well into slow count territory. Bam Bam 'rana, Halloween rolls thru one two NO! Halloween pounds the mat in frustration. Bam Bam looks for help from the crowd. Mini Halloween running, missing a clothesline, off the ropes, Bam Bam tries a backbreaker, Mini Halloween tries to reverse to a' rana, Bam Bam blocks it and powerbombs him! One two three! Crowd is happy, but we've got one more to go.

We almost miss Damian coming back in while looking at the crowd. Damián misses a clothesline, Bam Bam lands a superkick, and out goes Damian. Bam Bam lands the slingshot tornillo and celebrates. Referee's countout count is much faster than their pinfall count. Bam Bam throws Mini Damian in by the hair. We're looking at replay while they get back in the ring, and we jump out of the replay just in time to see a kickout. That was not a fine moment.  Bam Bam misses a clothesline, Mini Damian chops. Bam Bam thrown by his hair. Once more? No, Bam Bam breaks free and grabs Damian by his hair. Damian really spins on those hair tosses. There's another. 'Rana one two NO. Superkick, and Damian lands near the ropes, but doesn't go out. Bam Bam charges, gets thrown up in the air, and locks on a 'rana - but Damian rolls thru and hooks the ropes! One two three! Ref was shielded from the rope grab, but everyone else saw it.

Rudos rush back to the ring to celebrate with the winner. The trophy is huge. Rudos pose for photos.

After a break, we've got some unexplained highlights from Tuesday's Arena Coliseo show. It's the Bam Bam vs Mini Halloween vs Mini Damian 666 hair match, obviously, but I'm not sure if you can actually figure that out too easily if you haven't been following this feud elsewhere.

- a coin tosses to see who starts
- a Mini Damian promo
- Mini Damian hitting his inverted front powerslam
- Bam Bam's double jump 'rana to the floor.
- Bam doing a legdrop to the floor
- Mini Damian setting Bam Bam up in the valaguesa and then landing it for three - to show how clipped up this is, they cut out everything in between the start and the end of the move
- Mini Halloween cutting a promo
- Halloween slid dropkicking out Damian
- landing a slingshot tope con giro,
- Mini Damian giving Halloween a side back breaker
- Mini Damian with a middle rope front suplex, finishing off his partner
- Bam Bam with a one second promo
- Bam Bam with a top rope plancha, looking for the count
- Bam Bam's slingshot tornillo connecting.
- Halloween with a backbreaker
- Both having their shoulders down and getting up at 2.5
- Mini Halloween trying  'rana and getting it reversed into a sit down powerbomb (again) for three
- Halloween getting his hair cut and cutting a revenge promo
- Bam Bam celebrating with his hair and wanting Damian next

Match 2: Ephesto (c), Loco Max, Shigeo Okumura vs Felino, Mascara Purpura, Máximo (c)
Arena Coliseo, 07/15/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:21
Approx Rating: Eh.
Other Match Notes: Ephesto and Felino do the prematch promos. Felino is making cat noises and wearing a Heavy Metal shirt. So, the usual.

1: Rudos jump the tecnicos. Loco Max is wearing that Black Spiderman outfit, though I notice it has the usual Pandilla side lettering on the tights. Monito is out with the tecnicos, for as much good as it does. This rudo trio is like the return of the Arena Mexico Segunda of Despair, and so I think I zone out in some subconscious self preservation. Rudos do moves until it ends.

2: Corner whip or normal whip? I'm going to guess the rudos miss with a corner whip. Triple boot for Maximo. Purpura's set up in the corner, but the clotheslines do land this time. C'mon, Felino. Felino gets Loco Max down, but Ephesto gets on his back and forearms. Okumura up top so he can get his missile dropkick in. Loco is actually going to cover, how about that, one two NO. Rudos doing a lot of discussing. whip, triple boot for Felino. Maximo rushes in with Felino still on the mat, and Okumura ends up spanking him. Lots of discussion to set up a spot where the rudos all grab a limb and toss Felino up, only for Felino to land on his feet and start slapping people. It does not go well, and ii didn't appear to be Felino's fault. Rudos regroup and ram Felino into the corner. Yes! Maximo backdrops Felino to the apron and moves out of the way of the charge to start the comeback. Jumping butt smash, headscissors, and a tope to Okumura by Maximo. Ephesto runs into a Felino spinebuster, and Purpura adds a standing shooting star press for the pinfall. Meanwhile, Felino gets the middle rope powerbomb on Loco Max for the other finish.

El Arte del Catch: Toque Olimpico - an armbar/hammerlock cradle

Q: Quienes fueron los maestros de Mascara Purpura?

After the break, we're told the answer is Humberto Garza and Hector Garza.

3: Not much time left, of which I'm fine. Maximo gets Loco Max to shake his hand to start the fall, and even gets a hug, but a kiss on the forehead is a bit too much. Maximo off the ropes, over, under, knocking Loco down with a jumping block. Clothesline misses, but Maximo gets Loco with an armdrag on the next pass. Loco gets dropkicked out, and Ephesto come sin. Maximo waves him back and gives him a hiptoss - that looks slow for some reason. Maximo hits the double jump 'rana, and Ephesto goes out. Okumura in, and jumping too soon for armdrags. Maximo gets in a rebound armdrag to send Okumura out, and poses. Felino and pacing, because Loco's taking his time coming in Felino urges Loco to stop and listen to people chanting FE LIN O. Now Felino gets the crowd to chant again Loco, which displeases him greatly. The referee who's not Tigre Hispano is pretty darn obvious in relaying the time cues to both sides here. Loco with a sunset flip, Felino rolls thru. Loco covers up to prevent any kicking, so Felino instead rushes over to the rudo corner, chest slaps Ephesto, ducks Ephesto's chop which ends up hitting Okumura, and turns back to clothesline Loco as he gets up. Loco sits up, and takes that dropkick to the head after all. Okumura and Ephesto fail at double teaming, and both end out. Felino teases dive but doesn't go. CLIP here - we scoot ahead to Monito getting in a dive on Okumura because there's only about 70 seconds left in the broadcast. I guess Purpura's offense got skipped, but he's just hanging out on the apron here. The other four are in the ring, and Felino tosses Purpura up, only for Ephesto to powerbomb him down. one two three. Loco quickly gets Felino with a figure four, and that's it. Really out of nowhere finish, but it seems like that was what it seemed like without the clip.

Loco Max has barely let go of the hold by the credits come up. That's it.
