CMLL GdR - 06/30/07 (#84)
Recapped: 07/04/07

Intro: Miguel, Juan Carlos and - Okumura? Huh. Promos by Maximo and Damian, who is thrilled to bring back the Minimo insult.

Outside the Ring: Texano Jr. Texano's mom makes an appearance, and there's a lot of talk about Texano Sr. in the later segments.

Match 1: Hiroka (c), Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei vs Dark Angel, Lady Apache (c), Marcela
Arena Mexico, 06/22/07

  1. Rudas
  2. Tecnicas
  3. Tecnicas

Winner: Tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 11:02
Approx Rating: A little bit better than average.
Other Match Notes: No entrances, and we appear to be joined in progress with a fake bell ring to make it seem official. Which is odd, because the intro bit seemed to go long this week. I dunno.

1: Opening pairs are Apache/Mima (joined in progress?), Hiroka/Marcela - Hiroka's kills Marcela for a while, Marcela finally gets in a missile dropkick, and Mima immediately trips her up. Marcela rallies back with a headscissors on Hiroka, gets backdropped to the apron, and does a corkscrew into another headscissors on the floor - that's impressive. Lady Apache gives Mima a backbreaker and follows her out with a tope con giro. Sujei and Dark Angel finally get in. They have a pretty good exchange too, culminating with an enziguri. Dark Angel tags in Lady Apache to take over on Sujei. Sujei slips out of a powerbomb, off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl reversed into a fujiwara by Sujei! Apache is done! Wow, that was out of nowhere and well done.

2: Ruda beatdown following the end of the last fall. Lady Apache takes a triple slam. Kinda triple boot for Marcela, and then she's slapped down. Hiroka gives her a spinning backbreaker, and the others add dropkicks. Dark Angel is kicked as she comes in. She's press slammed onto Mima's boots. Apache takes a turnbuckle smash, but kips out and over a charge by Mima. You figure that starts the comeback, but no, they just do the a corner whip the other way. Apache tries the kip escape again, but no one's home, and it seems like they're kinda lost. Hiroka and Mima kick Apache, and then Sujei and Hiroka grab her for a double back suplex (with Mima directing.) Apache slips out, rolls backwards, and tags in the reinforcements. Sujei and Hiroka turn around into missile dropkicks, and we're quick to the finish from there. Everyone gets pinned or gives up - Apache uses La Alejandrina on Mima, so I get to actually use that in a match rather quick.

Marcela Wagner Drive Sujei

El Diseņo De: Sombra. This is not-Brillante talking about the designs on his mask, some of which are there to honor his father.

3: The ring girl REFUSES to the give the card to Sujei. She's does the spin anyway with an imaginary card, and Hiroka gives her a round of applause. Meanwhile, in the match, Mima starts with Marcela and gets little. Near fall on a double underhook backbreaker. Mima escapes a waistlock to get one of her own, only for Lady Apache to do a top rope sunset flip. That's looked better. So has the "reverse sunset flip leads to partner kicking partner" bit. They tease it the other way, but Marcela moves and Hiroka ends up dropkicking Mima. Marcela gets the waistlock Hiroka, Hiroka flips out of the German suplex, but Marcela drops her with a clothesline. Whip, reversed, Marcela slides out thru Dark Angel's leg (who's dancing a little bit this week), Dark Angel blocks a Hiroka hiptoss, flipping on her own. Hiroka blocks a move of her own, allowing Sujei to dropkick Dark Angel out. Apache comes in with a flying armdrags for Sujei. Sujei slides out, Land Apache follows with a tope rope armdrags. Almost got Alexis too. Tecnicos wrap things up quickly in the ring. Hey, tecnicos won easily again, that's not new.

Match 2: Damian 666 (c), Halloween, Mr. Aguila vs Heavy Metal (c), Maximo, La Sombra
Arena Coliseo, 06/24/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 7:44
Approx Rating: Usual.
Other Match Notes: Again, talking over the entrance music. Sombra does the promo for his team. We can hear the Perros music fine, but we still get the voice over introductions. Halloween's wearing his belt and doing the promo for his side. Why is Damian captain?

1: Rudos jumping tecnicos seems clipped out. We see very little of the fall before the finish.

Magadan and Monito shill merchandise. I think. They were showing dates and I couldn't figure out what they had to do with anything.

2: Beatdown continues. Halloween gets to do his F5. Sombra takes the camel clutch/dropkick. Metal turns a whip into a handspring double back elbow, which Magadan calls the Heavy punch for whatever reason. Sombra gets in a nice twisting headscissors and tope to the outside on Damian. Meanwhile, Maximo does a flying butt bump. Metal's got this leg trip -> float over -> crossface thing that looks neat, but I wonder if we'll see it again after this match.

El Arte de Catch: La Cruceta. You tie the legs in a figure four, and stand while holding the lock with your arms. And the other guys goes "ahhhh! ahhh!"

3: Tecnico showcase for Metal, Halloween and Damian walk into the crowd to put on Mistico and Rey Mysterio masks for no particular reason, showcase for Sombra (okay, not special), and then showcase for Maximo. Once again, Maximo taps Halloween with a kiss, and Halloween responds by giving him a big kiss. Aguila cuts Maximo off with a dive, Sombra ends up helping, sending Aguila out with an armdrags, and faking him into the path of a Maximo apron plancha. Damian nearly takes Sombra's head off with a 'rana reversed into a powerbomb (Sombra doesn't get his head up at all), and Halloween hits the spear.

Perros do a promo, and Metal can't even get thru his response before attacking Halloween. This goes nowhere.

That's it.
