CMLL GdR on FSE - 06/17/07 (#45)
Recapped: 07/01/07

Outside the ring with: Perro's finance, with Perro sitting nearby. He gets to talk at the end, and most of the talking is about them. This looks like it was taped last month at the lucha libre expo.

Match 1: Okumura, Loco Max, Nitro (c) vs Fabian el Gitano, Metalico (c), Tony Rivera
Arena Coliseo, 06/10/07

  1. Tecnicos
  2. Rudos
  3. Rudos

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 10:06
Approx Rating: Eh.
Other Match Notes: Loco Max and Fabian el Gitano do the pre-match promos.

1: Nitro (wearing an odd yellow/blue variation) and Tony Rivera (in his Bret Hart starter gear) start with the mat sequence. Metalico and Okumura next - Metalico has a red mask which doesn't match his gear at all. Okumura gets in lots of strikes, Metalico turns the tables on a whip, and then gets to do everyone single strike back at him. Metalico sends him out with a headscissors and slaps him there. Loco and Fabian. Back to Tony/Nitro to start the end game, which all six getting involved. Tony whips out Nitro, follows with a huge tope, and the other two tecnicos wrap things up in the ring.

2: Tony gets to run thru the tecnicos before the rudos cut off Metalico to start the beatdown. Usual stuff, but when Tony sidesteps a corner clothesline, he ends up running into an Okumura German suplex anyway. Fabian immediately is beat to end it.

3: Beatdown continues. Tony sidesteps a corner charge again, Okumura cuts him off after he evades the other two, and I guess Metalico and Fabian are supposed to jump him right after, but he pretty much signals them to attack him already. They eventually do, the other rudos look like dorks waiting around for their turn to charge into a beating - it all could've been a bit better. Comeback, then on to Tony briefly in with Nitro. He's close to win, so he gets knocked out. Metalico and Fabian end up with topes, neither looks that great. Back to the captains in the ring, and Nitro quickly gets a clean pin. They were near the ropes, but not in a way Nitro could've grabbed them anyway.

Rudos get to yell on the microphone. Nitro rants about Pandilla Guerrera, like have they done anything as a unit in a while? And Nitro would be off handily tossed out of the week just after, so who knows.

Negro and Misterioso do promos leading into and out of the break.

Match 2: Damian 666, Halloween (c), Misterioso II vs Mistico (c), Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
Arena Coliseo, 06/10/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 10:47
Approx Rating: By the numbers.
Other Match Notes: Mistico has a mini Mistico and three of his belts. No IWRG one. Mistico does a promo with his left shoulder heavily wrapped. It must be bad if he has to wrap it to talk. Everyone does promos about Misterioso, so it's not like they were expecting Aguila to actually be here. Halloween's wearing his Trios belt everywhere. Damian does the promo for his team. Mistico's graphic has him with the IWRG belt.

1: Rudos jump tecnicos. Halloween brains Negro with his title belt, and the refs just ask for the belt. That's nice of them. It's funny, Mistico takes the bumps while Negro is just being choked in the corner. That seems somewhat unfair. Rudos do boot choke him instead, and Rey dives in front of Mistico to save his partner. So they just beat up Rey. Rudos take forever doing the slingshot/clothesline/top rope move combo, mostly because they insist on having Damian do a walking the ropes legdrop, and he's not in the right position and needs help balancing. You can watch Rey just get annoyed. And then Halloween just spears Mistico to get the clean - oh, he kicked out a two. I would've been mildly shocked if Halloween pinned Mistico clean even in the first fall. Misterioso does his Gory Special and that's it. Still a tiny bit surprising when Mistico loses at all.

2: Beatdown goes on. Rey gets choked by camera cord and pulled around the ring, which can't be fun. Turns in the ring go Negro, Mistico, Rey, and then Rey, which is odd, but maybe they realized late he was supposed to start the comeback. Typical Mistico match comeback, someone ducking a clothesline to set up his springboard dropkick, which is a headscissors this time. Halloween and Damian gets lined up for a double Rey sit on the ropes, and Mistico does a nice Asai Moonsault onto Misterioso.

El Arte de Catch: La de a Caballo - hey, a random Roman guy. Doesn't look like Messala or Caligula unless they got new helmets. Anyway, this is your basic camel clutch.

Mistico hypes next week's show from Arena Mexico.

3: Damian/Negro, Rey thru everyone (including Damian crotching himself, just to check it off the list), Mistico and Halloween stalling forever before fighting so FdT could do the kiss spot. Mistico looks completely on fire during his run, with the usual stuff. Nice safe springboard plancha to finish off FdT. Negro and Rey hit apron dives onto FdT as they recover, and Misterioso is left in with Mistico. Misterioso has been hanging around with Averno too much, I bet. Spinning headscissors, double rotating spinning headscissors, Mistica.

Mistico and Damian take turns yelling on the microphone. The build up for next week's tag team title match is Mistico saying "[yelling about the Perros, random switch hey, got a tag title match versus Averno & Mephisto next week, please come."

That's it.
