CMLL FSE GdR - 06/10/07 (#44)
Recap: 06/12/07

Ramstein hypes his mask giveaway. Are they doing one for each show? We have to spot it appearing three times

Leobrado and Julio Cesar are hanging out in the same art market as the guys on GdR. They're much better at working in wandering around into their hype. Julio Cesar has a Ramstein mask here - does that count?

Feature: at home with Misterioso II and all his masks.

Match 1: Apocalipsis, Ramstein (c), Super Comando vs Starman, Trueno, Valiente (c)
Arena Coliseo, 06/03/07

  1. tecnico
  2. rudo
  3. tecnico

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 10:29
Approx Rating: Okay. A showcase for Valiente if anything, which is strange.
Other Match Notes: No entrance. Super Comando makes TV - sadly, Ramstein does the promo instead. I guess we need Polvora & Vaquero on TV now. Valiente does the promo for his team. Trueno's has Danger's normal color scheme - yellow with red (bolts)

1: Apocalipsis and Trueno start on the mat. Starman and Super Comando work on the mat next - Ramstein mask in the corner of the ring as they pan to Super Comando being pulled into a leg hold. A lot of exchanging holds on the mat, with Starman finally getting Super Comando out with a jumping snap mare. Starman follows him, and Super Comando begs off in the (empty) front row seats. Captains in last. Again, they battle over armbars and hammerlocks, and it's not like they're going particularly slow, but they're keeping it basic and technical. As soon as I type it, and about five in, they start throwing chops and doing sunset flips. Valiente dropkicks Ramstein out, slides out to follow, flips off Ramstein (Ramstein was feeding his hands for the spot way before it happened), and lands the ever devastating backbreaker on the floor. Valiente celebrates, and then drops down - ah, Starman is flying out with a tope con giro. Back in the ring, Apocalipsis gets Trueno with a back elbow. Corner whip, Trueno runs up the ropes and comes back down with a high reverse tope. Trueno covers, and despite Apocalipsis seemingly kicking out around five times, gets the pin. Valiente gets a basic half crab on Super Comando to end the fall. They're quick to the break.

2: Apocalipsis and Trueno start the second fall as well, but it involves a lot more running. We get to see the odd "monkey flip near the ropes" spot - Trueno takes it as handspring into the ropes and flips back to his feet. And then he runs backwards to set up the next spot. Anyway, backbreaker sends Apocalipsis out. Ramstein and Starman in next. Starman gets very thrilled about a backdrop, and they're going to plug the Ramstein mask contest every time he's in. Starman either got new gear or lost some weight - perhaps both. Ramstein is slid to the floor chest first, and Starman follows with a slingshot splash. Valiente does a top rope front flip into the ring - and slips on the landing. Crowd hoots. Valiente is very ticked at himself. Valiente get a takedown, but misses on a chop and Comando knocks him down on one of his own. Monkey flip, Valiente lands on his feet, Comando misses a clothesline and backs up to get in position as Valiente charges - monkey flip still lands Super Comando in the ropes. Super Comando gets up, tosses Valiente as he charges, Valiente backflip off the ropes, Super Comando misses a clothesline and becomes a platform for Valiente's headscissors. He's just working as a crash dummy for everyone else's moves, doing nothing of his own. Valiente poses and the crow doesn't boo him, so that's nice. Apocalipsis and Trueno in, Apocalipsis kicking Trueno in the head with boots a lot. Wagner Driver, Ramstein adding a slingshot senton before clearing the other Tecnicos off the apron. Guess it's beatdown time. Ramstein goes after Valiente on the floor while Apocalipsis works over Trueno and waits for Super Comando to come back in and help. Small boy in the third row has a Ramstein mask - hey, let's plug the contest again. Apocalipsis gets in a senton Starman, but he bails before Super Comando can get do anything. He is the man no offense. Trueno takes a double flapjack and a back cracker from Ramstein. One two three. Valiente back in, but he's cornered by Super Comando with chops so Apocalipsis can have the ring for Starman. Spinebuster, stump puller! Ah, Super Comando's going to do a move now that it doesn't matter. Fireman's carry into diamond cutter for Valiente.

3: We return just in time to see Ramstein tossing his own partner Super Comando out of the ring for a giant sit on Starman. That was a bit crazy. Trueno in, Ramstein misses a clothesline on him, and Trueno topes Super Comando just as he's getting up. Valiente and Ramstein left in - awful quick for endgame, ain't it? They battle over clothesline and whips, with Ramstein ended up on the apron. Valiente's punch is cut off, Ramstein backs him away with a chop, and he dives to the floor on Trueno. Valiente's turn? No, Apocalipsis cuts him off with a clothesline before he can get started. Corner whip, Apocalipsis walks along the ropes towards a middle corner, then charges - and takes a backdrop to the floor. that was odd. DOUBLE JUMP MOONSAULT! That time, he sure didn't slip. He looks to be hurting. Starman and Ramstein are back in the ring - Ramstein's 'rana works, but Starman is able to fight for a reversal, and Trueno does a nice job of cutting off Super Comando with a dropkick. Three count on the patina, that's it. Replays.

Post match interview with Valiente? He's still a bit out of breath, but he talks about his dive. They tease a mask match with someone, but c'mon. This is why they need to do something with the lower level titles - you could believe they might be going somewhere if Valiente said "I'd really like to win those Arena Coliseo Tag Team Titles", because the promotion is actually capable of doing that and it wouldn't be a mistake. All these random mask challenges make the ones we're actually supposed to believe worthless.

Match 2: Satanico (c), Texano Jr., Virus vs Mascara Purpura, Maximo, Volador Jr. (c)
Arena Coliseo, 06/03/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:37
Approx Rating: Set up the feud fine enough. Just odd that the feud is Maximo/Satanico, not Maximo/Texano.
Other Match Notes: Maximo has new, more annoying music. He and Texano do the pre-match promos, teasing a hair match.

1: Rudos rush the tecnicos, who try to bail instead of getting beat. That seems to work, because it's Virus and Volador one on one when we pick up the action. Volador and Virus are really good together for their short time. Texano starts against Purpura, gets thrown, comes back in. They get an slightly extended chain session. I think Purpura's changed his mask a tiny bit, but I can't identify what it is. Maximo/Satanico, Satanico's not thrilled with this. He deals with it by hitting Maximo very hard in the face. Maximo's butt bumps look really bad on his comeback - I'm not sure if it's just the way they're shot, or if he's actually not close on any of them. Virus and Texano's attempt to double team very quickly goes bad, and that's the fall. Satanico's held so Maximo can kiss him, but the refs break that up.

2: Purpura and Texano start the second fall, and Purpura gets to start flipping. Springboard headscissors sends Texano out, and Purpura does a handspring pose. Volador and Satanico doesn't last long, and Texano lasts even less against Volador. Virus says in long,, but ends up getting headscissors out. Texano comes in, trips on the middle rope, and blames Satanico. Texano shoves Satanico, and Satanico shoves Texano in the corner, threatening pain. Virus breaks it up, and it all becomes a distraction to take out the tecnicos.  Maximo's held for Satanico to kick repeatedly, and then punch in the head. Virus bites Maximo on the head. Texano gives Volador his fireman's carry head crusher, and that's the fall.

Satanico goes after Monito, who's stayed out of the way so far. He holds him for a Texano chop, and Texano pins him with one foot so Virus can drop a leg. Texano lifts Maximo up on one shoulder, and Satanico encourages him to chuck the blue monkey. Texano teases it, but ends up giving him a shoulderbreaker instead.

El Arte del Catch: Tony Salazar quickly explains Rolando Vera's move - La Reinera. Two random trainee types show it.

3: Beatdown - all on Maximo, pretty much. Maximo's stretched around the ropes, where Texano bites his head for a little bit, Satanico trash talks some, and Virus bites the hand again. Maximo duck a double clothesline, and his teammates come in with springboard dropkicks to clear out Virus & Texano. Maximo adds a flying butt bump into Satanico. All the rudos end up on the floor, and the tecnicos follow with topes and flying butt bumps. Satanico beats up Maximo more as they all return to the ring, Satanico punching Maximo so many times that he starts swinging randomly. Maximo fires back with punches of his own. Texano and Virus rush him out with double boots, and Volador and Purpura rush in. Rudos turn the tables, and the tecnicos are rammed into each other. Volador escapes a corner charge, but gets dropkicked in the back. Purpura makes his own comeback, getting a midkick on Texano, and a drop toe hold on Virus, but Texano enziguris him away while he's going for a La Majistral. Volador gets a springboard headscissors on Texano to knock him out, and Purpura gets a dropkick on Virus to clear him. Tecnicos exchange high tens before going for dives, but Volador gets yanked out by Virus. Purpura does his tope con giro anyway (and it's a nice one), hitting Texano. Meanwhile, Virus gets in his ringpost armdrag on Volador. In the ring, Maximo's big boot is - I dunno, sidestepped? He falls down, Satanico quickly sentons him, one two no. Whip, Satanico misses a clothesline, Maximo gets a bodyscissors cradle, one two three.

Maximo celebrates it like a huge win. Replays. When we return, Maximo is down and the rudos are standing above him, so that must've not gone well. Rudos leave, and Volador and Purpura help Maximo up. Maximo makes the post match challenge of a hair match with Satanico.
