CMLL FSE GDR - 04/29/07 (#38)
Recapped: 05/01/07

Intro: Halloween yells at lot and points his finger in the camera. The Trios champs are in a good enough mood. They forget to put something on the green screen behind Amapola.

Match 1: Diana la Cazadora, Marcela (c), Sahori vs Amapola, Diosa Maya, Princesa Sujei (c)
Arena Coliseo, 04/22/07

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. tecnicas

Winner: tecnicas
Match Time: 13:05
Approx Rating: Okay.
Other Match Notes: I don't know if this is new, or I really haven't seen it for a while, but they have a drawbridge in front of the entrance tunnel at Coliseo today, and we watch as it slowly lowers. Diana does the pre-match promo. Amapola wears her mask to the ring, for whatever reason. Princesa Sujei talks very fast in her promo. Diosa Maya is here to get on TV before the title cibernetico, I guess. Makes more sense than putting Hiroka or Mima in her spot, though that seems more like a Rosa Negra spot. She's a slightly bigger women, but in shape.

1: Marcela and Diosa get a 2:30 open against each other, and Diosa's fine. She doesn't do anything noteworthy great, but she doesn't do anything noteworthy bad either. She takes good bumps. Sahori and Amapola get a little bit, and for a little bit, Sahori can go okay. Sujei stops her run with a kick to the back, Sahori turns around and lands on the ropes to yell at her, and Amapola does a running sit to her back. That's teamwork. Sahori comes back quickly with a middle rope headscissors and a dropkick, and Amapola sends her self out with a missed corner charge. Diana tagged into face Sujei. Crowd chants for Diana. Repeated bit: Diana tries to get takedowns,  Sujei doesn't go with them and then knees her off. This goes nowhere. Diana gets her flashy moves run, but then oddly jumps when taking a dropkick instead of, you know, falling down. Diana rallies back to (climb slowly for a) middle rope dropkick and hooks on a bodyscissors cradle for the fall. Marcela gets a crazy camel clutch variant on Diosa Maya and Sahori pulls Amapola into an grounded octopus, but the falls over.

As promoted earlier show, they run a contest with Amapola asking trivia question here to win her mask. The first one is here - I think she's asking which year she debuted.

Atlantis wishes everyone a happy's kids day. I think this is where they started putting out the ring bumpers.

2: Sujei's making fun of the ring card girl again. They boo her when she tries to hold up the card, much to her annoyance. Meanwhile, there must've been something going on the ring, because Marcela's knocked the apron and sneaking back in while four others are discussing. Sujei starts with Marcela, though Marcela takes a break after a snap mare. Marcela comes back in, only for Sujei to yank her around by her hair a bunch. Nice dropkick. Sujei says this is it. Corner charge, but Marcela moves out of the way. Marcela ducks a clothesline, shoulderblock, pull up headscissors. Sujei tries a clothesline, but Marcela pulls her into a double underhook backbreaker. Sujei out, Amapola in, and Amapola flapjacks Marcela. Whip, Marcela springboard to the middle rope and comes down to a headscissors. Off the ropes, and Marcela works in a nice big DDT. Amapola's out with a dropkick, and Marcela follows to the apron - tope con giro. Diosa Maya in and - well, both tecnicas come in. Diosa Maya protests to the referees, the referees point out "1" to the tecnicas, the tecnicas discuss, and Diosa Maya ambushes them both. And it works. I think Amapola and Sujei were taking out Marcela outside, so it's the start of the beatdown. Double boot for Sahori. Whip, and a  - elbow?  I dunno what Maya wanted there. Sahori gets stomped out of the ring. Marcela in and triple booted out. Diana in, and he's held on the ropes and kicked. Diana takes corner charges from everyone - instead of being in the corner, she stays a step out and jumps on every impact. So strange. Sahori gets a Mexican hammer from Diosa Maya, and then is held up for a dropkick and a face first powerbomb by Sujei. Marcela back in, and she take a gutbuster onto Sujei and Amapola's knees. That's it, or not, as Diosa Maya gives Diana a hard armdrag off the rope.

Amapola's second question is: Whom did she lose her mask to? After a break, she wants to know WHEN she lost her mask.

3: Beatdown continues, which distracts Sujei from fussing with the ring girl. We're using old "2" and "3", so I guess they haven't got replacements yet. Marcela quickly ducks a double clothesline to start a comeback, but then Sujei and Marcela get lost on whatever doing, and Marcela does the most obvious job of putting herself into a hold I think I've seen. Dina is really slow on her top rope moves. She ducks a chest slap, which ends up with Diosa Maya hitting Amapola, and they start fighting till Sujei clears it up. And then they all stand and stare while waiting for Sahori to do her moves. Later, Sujei and Amapola bail on Diosa and leave her to take a dropkick. It's tough be the new girl. Maya goes out and Diana barely gets her with an apron silla. Sujei puts Sahori on her shoulders and Amapola tries to add a plancha, but Sahori rolls thru into an bodyscissors cradle and Amapola gets nothing but mat. Marcela adds top rope splash on Amapola, and that's the match.

We stick around for both sides regrouping post match, and an interview with Diana, who thanks the fans.

Black Warrior and Ultimo Guerrero wishes happy kids' day.

Diana wishes happy kid's day

Match 2: Damian 666, Halloween (c), Mr. Aguila vs Maximo, Sagrado (c), Texano Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 04/22/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 4:57
Approx Rating: rushed - it gave a reason for the title match but amazingly short.
Other Match Notes: The valets come out separate get their own entrance music, which appears to be the Hokey Pokey. Trios champs do a trio promo which is actually just them talking about the Kid's Day stuff. Maximo has the princesa gear, the other two have the ring. Halloween is wearing his Halloween mask for no reason. Everyone is wearing flak jackets for no reason. This is how PdM operates. Mr. Aguila and Damian do the promo for the third week ago. Minimo, CHECK.

1: Rudos are beating down tecnicos as we return. Lots of team work spots.

2: Beatdown continues, still with the Perros using lots of teamwork. Sagrado gets beat up, Maximo, and then Texano. Aguila and Damián wrestler with their flack jackets on. In mid Texano rally, they cut away to hype up the ring/princesa stuff. Sagrado waltz in the ring, and just kicks everyone until he's in control. That was anti climatic. Maximo got to clothesline everyone next (and those sure didn't look good), and it was tecnico comeback form there. Dives, and Texano pinning Halloween for the fall.

3:Aguila, still with his flak jacket on, gets a shoulder checked on by the doctor. Fall starts with Halloween/Sagrado, who start out fine and then totally botch a spot. Halloween ends up throwing himself out so Sagrado can do a tope and they can move on. Aguila and Maximo next, though Texano comes in to help Maximo with a backdrop and superkick Aguila. Aguila is armdragged out, runs around the corner to escape a Texano dive, and ends up in the path of a Maximo plancha. Nice job by the photographer do ducks out of the way. Halloween grabs Texano and tries to run up the corner for a big armdrags, but slips by himself and crotches on the ropes. Texano dropkicks him to the floor, and follows with the springboard plancha. Captains back in. Sagrado gives Halloween and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and heads up, but the moonsault misses and Halloween kills him with a spear. That's that. About five minutes left in the show, by my watch.

Luckily, we can kill that with replays and mic work. As I watch this, I note there's absolutely no hint of a Texano rudo turn. When was that decided? Monday? We don't actually hear the talking, as the announcers chat over the top. The Perros appear to make a negative comment about Maximo's size, and not his height. The announcers do shut up when Sagrado accepts the challenge. Magadan interviews Damian, who's glad to have the shot. Interview with the tecnicos, who have a different view on what's going to go down.
