AAA Mini Line - 04/21/07 (#621)
Recap: 05/03/07, 06/17/07, 07/10/07

Show Name: Un Dia Despues

Match 1: Mini Abismo Negro (c), Mini Charly Manson, Mini Chessman vs Mascarita Divina, Mascarita Sagrada (c), Octagoncito
El Toreo De Naucalpan, 03/17/07
Winner:
Tecnicos (Sagrado spinning armdrag into spinning headscissors into small package Abismo)
Match Time: 12:28
Notes: There's the open, then everyone's in the ring for this match and the captains are announced, and then there's another break. Beatdown as we join it, which turns into an odd rudo showcase segment. Well, till we get to Sagrada and Chessman, which is all Sagrada. The other two come into help, and it actually works. so Mini Chessman must be bad. To the 3 on ones. Triple suplex - all six guys - is the big spot. Abismo hops to the top to add a splash, but slips once, and crotches himself on the second try. That confusion leads to the comeback. Crowd is HOT. Divina is looking almost too tall to be in this division, at least a tecnico. Rudos are still taller than him. Hey, what do you know, Divina and Charly work together. He does get in on everyone. Tecnicos get a couple turns, because that's what AAA does when they're going 10+ minutes. Mini Chessman is obviously the lesser of the six, but everyone looks pretty good. Octagoncito pulls out a top rope tornillo to the floor, and the usual two are left in for the finish. Sagrada's finish looks spectacular. I don't know if the ring isn't miced or the crowd is so loud, but we don't hear the count on the pin, though we do see and understand it find.

Vignette: Orion's debuting here.

Match 2: Espantapajaros I, Ghefar (c), Policeman, Toxico vs Aero Star, Jesse, Nemesis AAA (c), Orion
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 03/19/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 7:19
Notes: This is the first of a running set of tags between these weird assortments of people - the people left at the bottom of the roster, basically. Seeing them together makes it look like an even wackier assortment.  Toxico's been around for months, and I'm still waiting for him to be the guy from GDL. This taping is using the 4 sided ring.

This was a pretty fun match. Everyone was working hard, as if there job depended on it. Maybe it did, the way it was laid out. No one in particular was showcased, nor any of the gimmicks - they could've found a couple more scarecrow outfits if they wanted that to be the selling point, and these teams seemed to be as random a mishmash as possible. It may not have been their jobs on the line, it may have been AAA trying to figure out who to use more. Whatever the case, everyone was going full speed thru the match, getting about fifteen minutes worth of stuff in and no goof-ery at all. Ghefar took a big bumps to the outside, all the tecnicos took backdrop bumps to the floor, and Jesse and Nemesis had some good dives. Lots of well coordinated teamwork spots by the rudos (one of those things which makes me wonder if they're usually a different team - or if they just all got together for ideas before their match for once.) Aero start hit an inside out moonsault to the floor, and Orion picked up the win with a springboard corkscrew moonsault. Crowd got into this one, and well they should given the effort. It was a little rough in the first half and the crowd didn't react thru out like they might have with actual stars, but they won them over in the end. Jessy is a better Leono.

Vignette: Billy Boy is depressed at the gym. Depressed enough to try and leave, before Alan and Decnnis bring him back. Billy tries to lay on the floor rather than workout, but they force him to keep going.

Match 3: Fabi Apache, Gran Apache (c), Mini Abismo Negro, Polvo de Estrellas vs Billy Boy (c), Mascarita Sagrada, Pimpinela Escarlata, Sexi Star
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 03/19/07

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 13:01
Other Match Notes: Povlo has a fright wig which lives up to his name. Pimpi harasses random stagehands. Billy's still pretty bald, and very depressed about it. Having now seen the end of Billy Boy being depressed, I'm not eager to live thru it again. Apache gets on the microphone to laugh and laugh.

Billy won't fight. Fabi has no problem dropkicking him. Gran Apache really has no problem attacking him. Mascara Sagrada gets spun around by his mask a lot. Pimpi starts the comeback with a missed corner charge. Late in the match (12+, because this is one of those matches that goes 15 minutes whether it needs it or not), Billy's partners have to keep breaking up pin attempts on him, because it doesn't appear he'll kick out. Fabi stops her father from giving Billy a crucifix powerbomb. Sexi Star takes her out, and gives her a silla on the floor. Billy exchanges slaps with Gran Apache, but gives up, and sets him self up for Apache's crucifix powerbomb. That's it. No one's quite sure what happened, because Gran Apache as the only one paying attention at the time.

Noti AAA:
- Rey de Reyes is coming up
- random highlights!
- a huge surprise is coming soon
- Scorpio is talking to a new member of the Guapos that we can only see the back off. Looks like Chris Stone.

Vignette: Ricky Banderas, walking around in front of a building (a church?) in his gear, that's all you need. Lots of laughing, and then some talking to the camera about Cibernetico. He's unhappy with the Muerte Cibernetica name.

Match 4: Cuervo (c), Escoria, Espiritu, Ozz vs Laredo Kid (c), Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Super Fly
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 03/19/07

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 11:45
Other Match Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is ref. This is spot-a-rific, as you'd expect. Air Force get the first 100 seconds, and then it's a bat down from there. Cuervo actually goes for a cover during the beatdown, and Cometa has to kickout because the help doesn't get there quick enough. Oh, wow, they're they're doing it with everyone. Then they get bored and start press slamming everyone to the outside. Pegasso front flips over a double clothesline to start the comeback at 5:00. It's a brief one, the quicker to get into tecnico  showcase spots. There's a really obvious edit in the middle of Laredo Kid's run, but they timed it soon enough that you had no idea what he actually did wrong. (You could take an educated guess, but you didn't see anything.) Cometa starts the dives with a top rope corkscrew moonsault to the floor at 10:30. Laredo hits his Asai Tornillo on Ozz. Escoria does a tope con giro to the floor, hitting no one on purpose because he planned to roll out of it into the next move. That is insane, more insane then the Asai Moonsault he ends up doing. Pegasso gests his half twist tope con giro on Espiritu. Laredo and Ozz end up back in, and Laredo hits his handspring enziguri before saying he's headed up. Startdust Press misses, Ozz having moved out of he way. Ozz's Canadian Destroyer gets no reaction, but it does get the pin. I think that move is too fake for lucha libre. They try hard to get it over with replays.

Match 5: Abismo Negro (c), Antifaz del Norte, Histeria, Mr. Niebla vs Elegido, La Parka Jr. (c), Super Porky, Zorro
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 03/19/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 17:10
Other Match Notes: Zorro has the UWA belt here, huh. Abismo just starts hitting tecnicos with his bat, which starts the match and does not get himself DQed. Hijo de Tirantes doesn't even Not DQ him! Usual Vipers beatdown. The part where everyone this a top rope move on Elegido - Abismo frog splash, Niebla moonsault, Antifaz frog splash, and Histeria splash - is fun, but it's like they hurry to dropkick him out. Comeback is strange. Everyone's beating up Zorro, everyone but Abismo wanders away to pose, somewhat because Abismo told them too, we take a look at Niebla, and then Zorro is suddenly beating up on Abismo. Gotta be a clip. Usual from here. Histeria pants Elegido, and it's blurred out. This is another one of those matches where it goes over 15 and could've been fine at ten.

Clean pins by the non-captains, which is odd. Hijo de Tirantes slow counted three on Histeria, and Zorro losing clean here to Histeria is odd. Parka took out Histeria, and followed with an tope into an armdrag. Abismo pretended to set up for a dive, but just happened to walks towards Elegido to allow him to hit a plancha. Elegido held on for the pin, with Abismo trying to flip it over at two, but it didn't look good and Hijo de Tirantes was slow to get in position to count. Backslide gets Elegido two. Abismo gets annoyed with this, and goes fro the Martinete on Elegido, but Hijo de Tirantes breaks it up with a shove. They shove each other while Elegido recovers, and Abismo fouls him with a kneelift. Elegido yanks Abismo's mask, small packages him, and Hijo de Tirantes fast counts. Yay cheating for the good guys.

Vignette: Konnan, with Kenzo and Mesias, talks alliance with Abismo Negro. Vipers agree to think about it. Where's Niebla?

Match 6: Kenzo Suzuki Mesias (c), Ozz, Cuervo, Escoria, Espiritu, Nicho el Millonario vs Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico (c)
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 03/19/07

Winner: Hell Brothers by DQ
Match Time: 8:46
Other Match Notes: Well, Histeria is wheeling out Konnan here, I guess things are going okay. Kenzo is limping on Konnan's crutch, that's odd. Clip during his speech? Anyway, Kenzo's hurt and Nicho's in the hospital, so Konnan is making a sub - the rudo team will now be Ricky Banderas (introduced as Mesias here.) Cibernetico says, in more words, whenever Konnan wants to bring them from, he'll keep beating them. Pepe Casas and Copetes are referees.

So it's 5 on 3. Wait, no, Kenzo's limping, but he's limping in the ring, hitting the Hell Brothers with his crutch. HB probably should've had a better plan, they're getting murdered here. Kenzo isn't looking that good, and he ends up back on the outside. Histeria seems to have disappeared. Tecnicos are destroyed for a long time. Rudos being in some sparkly wood and set it up in a corner. Cibernetico is bought out by Mesias, but he turns it around and posts Mesias and Kenzo. That leaves Konnan alone, and the crowd does go crazy with the idea Konnan might kill him. But Konnan maces Cibernetico and puts a plastic bag over his head to choke him out. Chessman makes the save and the Sect is right behind him. More beatdown. Somehow, Cibernetico pops up in the ring, completely fine, and chokeslamming Escoria when he tries a top rope move on Cibernetico. I think a crowd shot (and a clip?) may have obscured that. Anyway, Cibernetico's on fire from there, as are the other Hell Brothers. Chessman and Manson hit topes, and Kenzo takes care of everyone who comes after him. Mesias catches him off guard, and spears him into the wood. Manson and Chessman put up a fight, but the numbers get them. In the midst of this, Kenzo fouls Chessman and that - not the interference, not the crutch shots, not the guy being put thru sparked wood, not the guy being choked out in a plastic bag - is a DQ. WhatEVER. Couldn't they just beat the Hell Brothers here? This win meant nothing. (Crowd did pop when the arm go raised, but didn't last with the Sect still being the Hell Brothers down.

Sect pose on the outside with all the Hell Brothers down and not moving in the ring. That should be the last shot, but it goes on from there with the Hell Brothers recovering to cut promos and blah blah blah. Like we needed to know they wanted to get revenge.
