CMLL GDR - 04/06/07 (#71)
Recapped: 04/08/07

Open: Jesus and Magadan play with Perro and Ultimo action figures to hype the main event. This is great. We also get a vignette with Monito climbing a ladder to get a better look at a valet's chest; someone's feeling wacky today.

En Casa De Black Warrior: Tattoos.

I think there's a contest to spot La Park masks this time, but don't trust me.

Match 1: Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween (c), Mr. Aguilita vs Ultimo Dragoncito (c), Mini Olimpico, Tzuki
Arena Coliseo, 04/01/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 7:54
Approx Rating: Good to see them, though they've had better days.
Other Match Notes: Minis! Mini Olimpico reminds us he's Minis champ (though no belt) and he and Ultimo throw out challenges to the Mini Perros. Mini Halloween and Mini Damian are crazy fired up, which seems to be true always. Mini Damian is the one looking for the title shot, check. It's easy to forget how small Tzuki is when you see him about once a year. Mini Olimpico's pants match Olimpico's current design (well, back when he was wearing pants and not trunks), though he's still wearing white and is a tecnico.

1: Seemed like we may have started with a clip; Olimpico and Halloween are already going when we pick up. Shoves. Halloween lets Olimpico have it with chest slaps. Backing all the way up, charging, and throwing himself out when Olimpico moves out of the way. Mini Olimpico opts to pose rather than follow out. Damian and Tzuki in. Lockup, and Damian throws Tzuki down by his mask. Lockup, Damian throws Tzuki down again, blocks an armdrags, picks Tzuki back up, trips him back down, rolls Tzuki backwards only for Tzuki to flip to his feet, and tries a clothesline that gets turned into an armdrag. Damian yells about a hairpull, but no. Tzuki off the ropes, over, and into a Damian big boot. Halloween in too, and I guess we're in a beatdown mood. Mini Perros are all wearing odd camo pants and Mini Perros shirts. Dragoncito takes a face first powerbomb/chest cracker combo, and Aguilita adds a quebrada to all of that. That was destructive. Tzuki brought in, and the Mini Perros play catch with him - till Tzuki sneaks in an armdrags on Aguila. Double whip by others, Double clothesline is too high! Tzuki dives thru the ropes with a tope con giro on Aguilita. Damian and Halloween try Olimpico instead, but Mini Olimpico reverses the double team into a bodyscissors cradle on Damian, and Dragoncito gets an inside cradle in the confusion. Tecnicos take the fall.

2: Tzuki and Damian start. Damian misses a wild dropkick, and Tzuki pounds him on the head. Kicks to the back too. Mini Damian is so much taller than Tzuki. Everyone is, but him for sure. Corner whip, reversed, Tzuki moves, and Damian barrels head first into the middle buckle. Armdrag, Tzuki waved by, and Mini Damian waits a she springboards - plancha is caught, and Damian plants him with a spinning side slam. Aguilita tagged in and both grab Tzuki. He's tossed up in the air, and falls free to the mat. Ultimo Dragoncito sneaks in, dropkicks Mini Damian out, and ducks an Aguilita wheel kick. Mini Olimpico in too, clotheslining Aguilita. Dragoncito slingshots Mini Aguila as we stare at a LA Park mask. Mini Halloween dropkicks Ultimo out, but Mini Olímpico stops him with a chop. Whip, kick, powerbomb - no, Halloween sneaks over the top, reverse bodyscissors powerbomb! (Or more a sunset flip this time.) One - uh, Halloween let go. Huh. Aguilita back in, high five before they do more moves. Double whip, double STO. Aguilita leaps off Halloween's back for a dropkick to knock Mini Olimpico out. Clip here? Mini Damian's appeared out of nowhere to plancha Mini Olimpico. It works, but it's random. The other four are all in the ring, and the rudos quickly get finished, though neither of the moves look all that good.

3: This fall starts with Mini Halloween already out on the floor, so I'm thinking clip. Inside, Aguilita and Dragoncito are a little slow on spots, but Aguilita ends up taking the exchange with a headscissors. Olimpico comes in, and lights up Aguilita with a dropkick. Mini Olimpico celebrates facial damage. Slap. Whip, Aguilita slides under on the way back, Mini Olimpico off the ropes, bodyscissors armdrags. Mini Damian in, trying for a float around DDT or something, it goes away, and they try to salvage it into a small package. They're lost for a second going to the next spot, and Damian makes the wise move of slowing it down for a moment with chops. Whip, Damian misses a clothesline, Olimpico back with a spinning headscissors into an armdrag. Jesus has reminded us for the fourth or fifth time that Mini Olimpico is the champ and Damian wants a shot - someone, somewhere, is getting that title match and we'll never hear about it. Mini Damian out, Halloween in, Halloween tries a kick, Olimpico catches it, Damian tries for a spinning heel kick with the other leg, but comes up woefully short. Both are confused. Mini Olimpico picks up Mini Halloween, and Halloween dropkicks him out. Tzuki in with a springboard headscissors. Off the ropes, up - and caught by Mini Halloween. Halloween loads him on his shoulders, F5, one two three. Of course he's got to use WWE finishes, he's Mini Halloween! Olimpico in, sand stopping to get the crowd going. They don't. We miss what happened next, watching Tzuki roll out instead. Mini Halloween misses a clothesline, Olimpico tries a tilt-a-whirl that slowly gets reversed into a 'rana, that gets reversed into a sunset flip for Olimpico, one two three. Mini Halloween argues that was two, but no. Aguilita in and missing a clothesline. Olimpico misses a clothesline, Aguilita gets in a shoulderblock, springboard sunset flip, one two no. Aguilita gets waved by on a charge, leaps to the apron, and gets dropkicked off. Olimpico going for a dive? TOPE! Mini Damian and Ultimo Dragoncito left in. Dragoncito knocks Mini Damian away with a chop, up top, top rope twisting headscissors. A caught clothesline turns into monkey flip leverage spots on the mat, into a Dragoncito hopping up for a' rana, but Mini Damian powerbombs him one two three!

Mini Damian pulls in his partners. I'm surprised he didn't pin Olimpico after all that title build. I guess a win's a win.

Match 2: LA Park, Ultimo Guerrero (c), Atlantis vs Damian 666, Halloween, Perro Aguayo Jr.  (c)
Arena Coliseo, 04/01/07

  1. Guerreros
  2. Perros
  3. Perros

Winner: Perros (2-1)
Match Time: 13:41
Approx Rating: Okay.
Other Match Notes: LA Park has two kid LA Parks with him, as well as bring a LA Park masks to the ring and finding one on the way to the ring. Guerrero and Atlantis come out together. Park cuts the pre-match promo, to try and explain why he' fighting the Perros here. Halloween could not be Halloween anymore than he looks for this match, and I know how that makes no sense. Damian cuts a sedate promo.

1: Rudos - eh, Guerreros - jump the Perros. Perro, still wearing his shirt around his waist, is worked over in the ring by Ultimo and Atlantis. He's thrown out, and it's Damian's turn. LA Park randomly attacks guys on the outside. He comes in, and Damian is sent out with a kick to the ribs. Halloween in, and he tries to escape more the right, which works not so well. Big chest slap from LA Park, and Ultimo decides that's good enough. POSE! Perro's hiding outside, so Damian is brought in, and Atlantis gets him with basic stuff. That's it.

2: Ring card girl carries out the LA Park mask here. Meanwhile, the Perros are in control with no explanation. Perro wastes no time in going after Ultimo mask. It gets completely pulled off and his face exposed, though not for long. Just as randomly, the match is back to one on one, so Perro and Ultimo tease out a chop exchange (one chop, much looking at the crowd.) Lots of camera switching, from Perro to the crowd to Perro to the crowd, repeat till dizzy. Ultimo decides to complete for reaction, and the crowd is definitely behind Perro. Show's how much teaming with Mistico will do for him. Lots of crowd reaction bits. Perro's like "let's wrestle already", and so they do. Ultimo misses a clothesline, and Perro comes back with a spinning headscissors, Perro gets running for a dive, but LA Park and Atlantis cut him off and knock him out. FdT in, and whipped into  each other. Mini Halloween's stomped down into a corner. Double corner whip for Mini Damian, LA Park whipped in after, and he eats boots. Park stumbles back, into the path of a flying Halloween armdrag. Atlantis misses a dropkick, and Damian eventually clotheslines him back down. Double dropkick to the head for LA Park. Corner whip, corner clothesline for Atlantis, Damian with a sorta rebound bulldog into Halloween's knee. Atlantis didn't start bouncing out of the corner till about four seconds after he stopped (and right in time for the bulldog.) Something is done to LA Park, but we don't see it. Damian covers him, and Halloween gets in the spear on Atlantis to take the fall. Perro and Ultimo tease fighting, but no. Replays and Perro getting the crowd to cheer for him.

3: A free for all breaks out, inside and outside the ring. Perro and Parka go on a long walk around ringside, so Perro can throw Park down the ramp. Perros now in beatdown, in the ring, with LA Park's belt, and now they're getting booed. LA Park gets a shot, and Aguayo keeps the belt. And then he randomly drops it. Match grinds to a halt as things reset, and we're looking away when things finally pick up. Double whip by Halloween and Damian on Ultimo, but Damian charges into a boot, and then Ultimo gets a (very staged) headlock headscissors spot on both. Double clothesline. This is the tecnico comeback spot, and fans boo. Ultimo decides to go attack Perro, knocking him off the apron and into one of his rages. Ultimo isn't scared, and they started brawling in the front row, scaring the people there. They stop fighting long enough to go back inside - and listen to chants. Meanwhile, LA park randomly beats up on Halloween. Back inside, Aguayo rolls thru a sunset flip to dropkick Ultimo, taunts his teammates, and runs to safety of his side. Once he's on the apron, Aguayo is embolden to spit at Park, but drops all the way to the floor before Park can do more. Atlantis and Damian end up in. Damian doesn't get his handshake. Chop battle, but Atlantis takes Damian down and drops a leg on the lg. Seated abdominal stretch is broken up by a Halloween kick to the back of the head (in theory - it barely hit if at all.) Halloween gets on a submission, LA Park breaks that up with a chop, and they get into an angry shoving battle. LA park fakes the handshake with him. STRUT! Fans are mixed. Damian is offended - ah, it's the kiss spot, which loses something when you do it back to back weeks. Damian holds LA Park for a punch, and Halloween's effort on it can't even be called half hearted. Like maybe one-tenth hearted. More standing absently while Park does his spots, and taking bumps before the moves are done follows. Perro's at least fired up as he takes armdrags and tilt-a-whirl backbreakers. Park gets a chinlock on him, and Damian breaks that up with an ear clap. Damian gets on an abdominal stretch, and Atlantis breaks it up. Whip, Atlantis gives him a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Atlantis taunts in Perro - and tags in Ultimo. Fans totally are behind Perro here. There's no question. Ultimo gets in the first punch, corner whip, charge, Perro moves, Ultimo takes the knee bump to the floor. Perro to the apron, and off with than his silla. Atlantis and Halloween in, Halloween puts his head down too soon on a whip and gets it kicked. Atlantis off the ropes, and Halloween superkicks him out. Halloween off the ropes, LA Park catches his arm and DDTs Halloween, though it's not immediately apparent. Park slides Halloween out to Atlantis, who holds him hanging off the apron, and Park crushes Halloween with a slingshot stomp to his back. Damian tope to Park! Atlantis tope! Everyone' swiped out but Perro and Ultimo, and one ref is out checking on them. Perro tries to sneak attack Ultimo, but Ultimo moves of the way and shoves Perro in the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Ultimo moves out of the way, Perro splashes the corner and starts to go over. Ultimo pulls him back - well, he pulls Perro's tights anyway. Ref grabs Ultimo to get him off Perro, Perro turns and dropkicks, and both Ultimo and the ref move out of the way in time. Ultimo tires a dropkick, and this time the ref is too slow to move. Perro's thrilled he can cheat now - foul, Ultimo blocks it, Perro yanks the mask and covers him. Ref in from outside, one two three.

Replays. Perro wants a mask/hair match, right now. Ultimo gets in "other level." Perro tries to get the crowd to chant again Ultimo, and it works.

That's it.
