Match 1: Arkangel (c), Hooligan, Loco Max vs Mascara Purpura, Texano Jr., Virus (c)
Arena Mexico, 02/01/07

  1. Rudos
  2. Tecnicos
  3. Rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:39
Approx Rating: Pretty good - the best of these in a while.
Other Match Notes: No entrances.

1: There's clipping to start - one shot, the valets are all distracting on the ramp, and one camera change later, they're way gone. WE join during Loco Max and Hooligan, though Loco Max might have previously been up to something. Hooligan and Virus is as you'd expect. Texano and Arkangel next - Texano gets in a hiptoss, and  then he's thrown his lasso and whips Arkangel with it! That seems illegal. Chop battle broken up when Loco Max (wearing the Spider-Man outfit and mask) grabs Texano's arm from the outside and get sin a chop. Arkangel is a little slow to follow up, and Texano gets the advantage back quick. Arkangel traps himself on the ropes with a big boot soon after, and Virus gets in a revenge shot form outside. Texano gets a 'rana, and the rudos rush the ring to start the beatdown. Loco Max pulls his own mask off in celebration. Ring is cleared for corner charges on Texano. Double suplex by Hooligan and Arkangel, and Loco adds a top rope splash. Pin is broken up by Virus, with Purpura coming in as well. Rudos clear all but Virus, and Hooligan gives him the Hooligan clash. That's it.

2: Rudos still in control. Purpura gets hung in the ropes for a double double sledge to the midsection, then brought in the middle of the ring for a triple dropkick to the head. Virus tries to fight his way to taking the match back, but takes corner charges. Slingshot double bulldog! Is this the best Pandilla combo? You need Sangre instead of Loco, I guess. Texano gets double booted out, but pulls Arkangel with him, hangs on him on the bottom rope and gives him a running dropkick. That required Hooligan talking with ref Adonis a long time for no reason, but it cuts the numbers to 2 to 1. Virus tries to fight in, gets corner, and manages to cause Loco and Arkangel to hit each other. They end up on the floor, and Virus gives Loco a layout faceslam there. Hooligan dives thru the corner ropes and decks Virus with a tope, and Purpura crushes him with a running slingshot tope con giro. That was a very organic dive train bit. Inside, Texano gets a pumphandle backbreaker, and the fireman's carry headcrusher - I never realized he was a big Billy Kidman fan. One two three.

3: Rudos stall instead of straight this fall. Arkangel eventually relents and comes in - and then goes right back out. His back is still hurting, you see. Okay, this time for real - ha, no! Anytime now. He's back in for real. Circle, but Arkangel slaps first. Texano back with one of his own. Arkangel with a chest slap, Texano with wild punches from both hands that Arkangel ducks, and he puts on an abdominal stretch. Texano turns, reverses it, and pulls the leg to complete the suasitca. Texano's rarely holding it together, and Arkangel is able to tip him over and get free. Both back up, Ark with a snap mare, off the ropes, over, over, elbow drop. He did not pose or throw his elbow pad, because he has no elbow pad. One two NO. Small package, one two NO. Texano up firs this time, and stomps. Corner whip, reversed, Arkangel runs into Texano's boot, and Texano dropkicks him from the middle rope. Cover? Yes - no, Hooligan breaks it up before it can happen, dropkicking Texano in the ring. Purpura in as the other two go out - Purpura up to Hooligan's shoulders, and then spinning around into a sunset flip one two NO. Bodyscissors cradle one two no. Didn't have that tight. Purpura misses a clothesline, Hooligan scoops him up into a reverse torture rack, and drops him backwards - is that a reverse Samoan drop? What's a reverse Samoan? There's no good answer. Hooligan goes for a pin, but Virus breaks it up with a snap kick to his back. It's time for the lightweights, though Loco Max isn't sure about coming in. Loco off the ropes, over, sunset flip, Virus rolls thru fast, Loco ducks out of the way faster. And then he stops for a moment before covering. One two no. Knife edge chops. Corner whip, Loco yells to the charges, and this the turnbuckle because Virus has flipped to the apron. Virus blocks Loco's punch, swats him in the stomach, and kicks him in the back of the leg to take him to his knees. Slingshot swinging dropkick to Loco's skull - one two no. Virus up and waiting for Loco. Virus' clothesline is caught, Loco tries a short clothesline, Virus ducks under and lifts Loco up, Loco grabs onto the top rope and tries to pull himself over, but ends up hanging himself, Virus spanks him, runs to the far ropes, and comes back with a dropkick to the head - which didn't come close to hitting, so we're going to pretend Virus hitting the ropes propelled Loco back into the middle of the ring. Virus covers, but the rudos are into break it up. Purpura and Texano take care of the two rudos, tossing them out and joining them on the floor without diving. Tecnicos try to whip the rudos into each other, but it's reversed, and the tecnicos boink into each other. Virus has Loco up in an inverted Gory Stretch, but Arkangel and Hooligan break that up. Virus is chest slapped into the corner, corner whip the other way, corner charges, and he's lifted to the top rope. Taking too long - Hooligan backs away as Arkangel goes up, and runs into a Purpura backdrop. Purpura tries to run up the corner and do something, but slips. He right himself, and we end up with Virus sitting on the top rope, while Arkangel and Purpura are standing over him. Purpura pulls Ark off the rope with a 'rana, covers, Loco tries to block it up and gets his partner with an elbow drop. Texano's on the top rope - splash to both. Everyone covers, one two three! That had room to improve, but it was by far the best on of these we've had in a while.

Why are the Don't Try This At Home messages back? A ton of 'em. They spend too much time in the ring last week?

Match 2: Eclipse, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero (c) vs Dr. Wagner Jr. (c), Lizmark Jr., Negro Casas
Arena Coliseo, 02/11/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:50
Approx Rating: The Dr. Wagner show.
Other Match Notes: Olimpico wants a shot at the tag team titles. Go ask Parka and Octagon! Dr. Wagner can get a really good tan in the dead of winter. And also, He can get forearmed by Ultimo. First, Negro Casas randomly challenges someone to a hair match. I'm going to stop paying attention to these - did someone really say "you know what we need is more people challenging each to more matches we won't ever do"? I can't fathom such a thing.

1: Somehow, we start at normal, despite Ultimo attacking Wagner. Clip? I dunno. Eclipse and Lizmark to start, oh no. The thing about putting the one tall guy to face the other tall guy is when they're in together, they don't look tall. I realize this makes no sense. So we've got Lizmark and Eclipse wrestling on the mat. It's basic and slow, but they don't embarrass themselves. Atlantis and Wagner next. Once Wagner is done strutting around. Wagner's in a good mood about something. Since Wagner gets his fan cheering, Ultimo rolls out to celebrate with his normal front row fans, and then tecnicos make fun of all of them. Hey, wrestling? No, Wagner's got to pose some. Ultimo is sick of his silliness and knocks him down with a single chop. Wagner does some push ups, poses, and gets knocked down again. More push ups. Hopping on one foot. Wolfpack touch to Negro and Lizmark, who go nuts. Wagner throws some kicks, and then points to the crowd. Chop. Corner whip, Wagner slides out, Ultimo slides out, Wagner comes in and struts some more. Ultimo just stares at him. Wagner charges, and Ultimo drop toe holds him into the middle turnbuckle. Some the other way. Wagner walks up the ropes for a running Tornado DDT, sending Ultimo out. Ultimo stands there as Wagner poses on the apron - apron tope con giro. Negro in,  and stopped by the two rudos. They try a corner whip, but Lizmark press his partner sand toss him into the the rudos. They're knocked over, but they're up first and kicking Negro down. Olimpico keeps Negro down with kicks, and Eclipse turns and tries a clothesline on Lizmark, who ducks under. Olimpico has his back to Lizmark, and Lizmark sets up for a superkick when he turns around. Problem is, Eclipse is behind Lizmark, and waiting for - well, he's just confused. It could be a good setup if Eclipse was more experienced, but he just looks like a guy not sure what to do since Lizmark isn't turned the right way for the next spot (which seems to be the case.) Lizmark realizes he's got a guy behind him doing nothing, and turns to face him. We don't see exactly what happens next, but Lizmark's pressing Eclipse next time we see. Olimpico turns to help, and Negro gives him a bodyscissors sleeper! Lizmark drops Eclipse, and both rudos go down. Wagner helps by posing. He does chop Ultimo once, and then they slowly chase each other around ringside. Wagner finds a small child to carry around while we watch replays.

2: Eclipse and Negro start. Eclipse is not so good at selling. Olimpico comes in so they can both try beating Negro up, and it goes not so well - they seem to lose track of what they're doing. Eclipse stays into face Lizmark Jr. Pose off. Noggin to noggin. They pushed each other back and forth, and then Lizmark slips to the side and throws Eclipse out. Olimpico in, Lizmark ducks the clothesline, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker again, and again. Olimpico rolls out to safety, Eclipse back in, and a big monkey flip for him. Ultimo in, but Wagner in and now Ultimo's not so happy. Crowd happy to see Wagner, and Olimpico uses the distraction to dropkick him. Beatdown is on - tecnicos are cleared off while Wagner is isolated in the ring. Ultimo gets the team together, and then it's corner clothesline for Wagner, including the headstand sit. Both the other tecnicos are brought in, and held in the corner for Olimpico to clothesline. Negro and Lizmark are whipped together, and it's time for the partner standing figure/double armbar, abdominal stretch three submission two people. That does it, with Wagner being too late to break it up.  For good measure, Ultimo puts Wagner on the top rope and goes to untie his mask - though Wagner is still posting and shaking his head to the crowd chants. Ultimo gets it untied. Ultimo "Accidentally" yanks it off, and you can see most of Wagner's face pretty well a few times. Ultimo leaves Wagner hanging the tree of woe, and it's tough to keep your mask on that way.

3: Wagner gets a triple boot as the fall officially starts. Negro bought in, and he takes a double drop toe hold and a dropkick to the floor. Lizmark takes the boost sit. Wagner brought in, but he ducks the double clothesline and lands on of his own. Wagner gives Ultimo a double YOU, so it's really on now. Mask ripping revenge as the other four somewhat fight. Wagner sets up Ultimo right near the fan section, and pulls off his mask so his face is completely visible to the camera, a couple of times. That's revenge. Ultimo battle shim back, but Wagner turns around, and give shim a tope rope superplex. Both guys are down. They didn't seem to have any idea there were four other guys fighting before they did that, but everyone else must've been alert to move out of the way. Ultimo charges Wagner and ends up taking the knee bump to the floor, but Olimpico knocks Wagner to the floor before he can dive again. Eclipse holds Lizmark for Olimpico's dropkick, but Lizmark moves out of the way and Eclipse is knocked out of the ring. There's the superkick, had to get it in. Tope on Olimpico sends him far up the aisle. We see the tail end of a Negro silla on Eclipse as well, and we're back to the two captains. Ultimo misses a clothesline, misses a clothesline, and Wagner nails him with a jumping one. Wagner's all fired up again. Off the ropes, jumping and caught by Ultimo. Ultimo dumps him on the mat, ties up the legs - think he's going for a nudo - leans over Wagner, and gets pulled in a small package. Wagner gets a foot on the ropes (and Ultimo's leaning on them) one two three! Ultimo can't believe he was just screwed like that.

Replays. Wagner ties a Wagner banner around himself like a dress, and holds up a sign. Wagner thanks the fans. He's off to sign autographs and shake hands, and this one's over.
