CMLL GdR - 02/11/07 (#27)
Recapped: 08/16/07

Intro is the usual stuff.

Unmasked: Bird Boy

Match 1: Nitro (c), Arkangel, Loco Max vs Satanico (c), Metro II, Fabian el Gitano
Arena Coliseo, 02/04/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:52
Other Match Notes: We get the full Fabian strip show. Well, I guess not all the way full. Metro has great reactions about teaming with this man. Hey, wait, it's METRO and FABIAN, impossible! Satanico does the promo. Loco Max is in full spider gear, including imaginary webshooters. Nitro's name is spelled "N I I R O" on his Guerrero kilt. Why would you wear it? Nitro does an intense promo while Loco Max goofs around under the Spider-Man mask. "SPIDER MAX!"

1: Rudos jump the tecnicos. This rudos is familiar enough that we get teamwork spots, though nothing very special.

2: Beatdown continues until Satanico gets his feet up on a corner charge. Metro comes in with the big plancha on Nitro and Loco Max. Fabian does the weakest slingshot tope con giro ever as the fall ends up. We don't actually see Metro's move live, but it's Metro II so it's easy to guess. We do pick it up in replays.

3: Long Fabian/Loco sequence to start. At least Loco Max is willing to throw himself around. This week, Metro's double springboard is a roll escape, and he does a top rope headscissors instead. Satanico and Nitro, and Nitro has some ugly clotheslines in here. He eventually just batters Satanico out of the ring, and they brawl there. Fabian sets up to do a dive, but no one's standing there for him to dive on. So he's just very confused for a while. Loco Max comes to give him something to do. Fabian gets a wristlock abdominal stretch, and then cranks it in while waiting for someone, anyone, to break it up. Arkangel bails him out. Ark gets a cradle on Metro for two. Satanico grabs Ark in a hold, and Nitro's quicker to break that up. Satanico hits his measured punches, and down goes Nitro. Reverse step over double armbar, but Arkangel breaks that up. Satanico just walks up rather than react. Fabian comes in instead, and Arkangel ends up clubbing him in the face with a clothesline. Metro dropkicks him out, and hits the between the ropes tope. Tecnicos wrap it up in the ring.

Match 2: Black Warrior (c), Misterioso II, Olimpico vs Heavy Metal, Dr. Wagner Jr., Mistico (c)
Arena Coliseo, 02/04/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:13
Other Match Notes: Mistico is wearing his pink outfit to the ring, but his white outfit for his pre-match interview (as well as the mask with no mouth hole.) Warrior does the interview for his team. Tecnicos enter first, so the pre-match punk out doesn't happen till after the introductions are down.

1: Olimpico lays the boots to Monito on the outside, then gently slams Wagner on the ramp. He's so much softer on Wagner than Monito, it's hilarious. Security has to drag Monito's carcass to safety. Warrior focuses on Mistico, untying his mask. Misterioso and Olimpico team up for a super gut buster on Metal. Warrior hits the legdrop to finish it, and then does the Mistico pose. Replays, while Warrior beats up on Mistico and does his rope pulling.

2: Rudos entertain themselves by beating up Monito. Giant swing. Beatdown rolls on. Olimpico gives Mistico a delayed suplex. Warrior, directing traffic, still hasn't taken off the t-shirt he walked in with. Wagner ducks a double clothesline, Mistico springboard headscissors, check. Mistico goes to follow up with a dive on Warrior, but Warrior pulls him off the apron. Mistico gets beat while the other tecnicos dominate in the ring. Warrior's busy with Mistico, misses his partners getting beat and gets superkicked anyway. Wagner and Monito get some revenge on Olimpico. Mistico gets Warrior's kilt, Warrior gets a Mistico mask, and both take turns doing each other's pose until Mistico kicks Warrior out of the ring.

3: More Mistico/Warrior posing to start off, ending with Warrior getting superkicked on the floor. Wagner poses for a finger touch, gets it, but Metal is ignoring both of them and coming in anyway. Metal/Olimpico, and Misterioso/Wagner. Misterioso gets sick of Wagner's goofiness and does the Wagner pose, which greatly upsets Wagner. Wagner chops Misterioso hard quite a bit. Misterioso gets sent out with a backbreaker, Wagner ends up going thru all the tecnicos. Warrior spits at Wagner, which is the most anyone gets. Mistico gets his sequence next, quickly taking out Misterioso with a double spinning headscissors, and Olimpico with a spinning armdrag. Warrior cuts him off and knocks him down. Mistico is slow up, so Warrior busies himself annoying the tecnicos. Warrior misses a corner charge, drop toe hold, Warrior ducks the 619, Mistico backdropped to the apron, and Warrior spin kicks him to the floor. Warrior sets up there, and bowls Mistico over with the apron top con giro. Metal and Misterioso in - for a moment, before Misterioso got backdropped to the apron and booted to floor in a neat spot. Metal hits his between the ropes dropkick. Wagner and Olimpico. Wagner enziguri-ing Olimpico off the apron, and gets in his apron tope con giro. Captains back in. Ref discuss who knows what as Mistico goes for La Mistica. Warrior tosses him off, pulls the mask, and small packages him for the pin.

Warrior is nice enough to leave the mask laying on Mistico's face as he gets his arm raised. Mistico and Warrior make the usual challenges - Warrior wants a title match this time, I think. I'm doing this without notes, so I can't recall if he actually got it this time. Mistico interview with Magadan does not go well. For the usual reasons.
