CMLL GdR - 01/27/07 (#25)
Recapped: 08/16/07

Intro: Perro Aguayo plugs a t-shirt contest. It's a five question thing, which they do thru the show. I guess he can't get away a mask, but a t-shirt seems light. Dark Angel joins the announcers to talk about the matches.

Unmasked: Satanico.

Match 1: Canek Jr., Dr. X, Mr. Mexico (C) vs Stuka Jr., Metro II, Virus (c)
Arena Coliseo, 01/21/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:16
Other Match Notes: Entrances. Odd to hear music after I've gotten use to the other way. I prefer this, for sure. Virus and Canek Jr. do the promos.

1: Tecnico showcase thru the first fall. Not dives or much of note. Stuka has a white/black variation of his usual gear, which I don't think I've seen since this match. That's a good thing. Triple tecnico pin finish - Metro hits the Neutron flying reverse tope on Canek Jr. for good measure.

2: Dr. X unties his own mask before the fall, apparently just to scratch his nose. That's different. Tecnicos look bored waiting to start the second fall. This fall starts off with the best possible matchup, Dr. X vs Virus, but when Dr. X slides out to get free off the armdrags, Virus chases him right into rudos territory and the beatdown starts there. Lots of brawling. Metro gets to see a front row seat up close. Canek Jr. has a bad clothesline. Canek holds Virus while Mr. Mexico kicks him over and over, and I hope for a second we're going to get a Victory By Kicking. They do more brawling to dash my hopes. A big rudo combo move is a double backdrop, just to have you the flavor. Dr. X and Canek Jr opt to team up in the ring while Mr. Mexico works over tecnicos on the outside for a while. Eventually, the hang Virus in the ropes so Dr. X can do the crotch dropkick, and that's it. Rudos have no idea Virus is the captain, so Canek gets a fisherman suplex (kinda) pin on Stuka.

3: Looks a definite edit here, because there's no beatdown or comeback, but even/even and people selling like they've been wrestling for quite some time. Metro gets in a wonderful double springboard headscissors and follows with a tope con giro. That's best thing I've seen out of him a while. Stuka lands on Canek with the Asai Moonsault, and Mexico and Virus are left in. Mexico gets 2 on a back elbow, and fouls Virus with a heel kick in the next moment.

Survey: Mistico or Perro Aguayo? Perro, Perro, Perro, Perro, Mistico, Mistico. Huh.

Match 2: Perro Aguayo Jr. (c), Halloween, Damian 666 vs Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Mistico (c)
Arena Coliseo, 01/21/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:19
Other Match Notes: Magadan models the latest in Perros de Mal jackets. Perro interviews him and Magadan cuts the promo on Mistico.

1: Edit into a Perros beatdown. Triple legdrop on Dos. Perro takes care of Dos, and then unties Wagner's mask as FdT hold him in a dual suspended legbar. Perro gets the mask off - is that a DQ? No, they're saying Wagner gave, huh. Highlights. Are Halloween and Damian beating up a Mistico doll?

2: Perro entertains himself with Perro chants. Wagner gets a brief run when he evades a corner whip, but the other rudos take him down. They try it again, and miss worse. Perro ends up outside, and Mistico hits a top rope plancha on him. Wagner and Dos clear the other two out of the ring. Dos lands a pescado, Wagner does his apron tope con giro. Captains back in, and Mistico gets La Mistica - in the second fall? That's probably a bad sign.

3: Perro tells the video camera guy and Alexis to stop coming so close to him. Getting no satisfaction, Perro tries rating out the camera guy to the ref. No go. Meanwhile, Halloween and Damian are doing the kiss bit before attacking Mistico. This goes badly. Double 619, and a ringpost 619 for good measure. Perro comes in to face him, and then takes a left turn to go pose again. Halloween and Damian jump Mistico before he can get to Perro, and then leave him hurt for Perro. Perro gets distracted by the Mistico chants and never actually hits Mistico while he's tired. Chop battle. Misitco's first one to Perro is every load. Damian takes offense, so Mistico hits him, and Damian back out. Mistico gets Halloween just to make sure everyone gets one. Perro decides this is his time to leave, but his partners convince him to come back in. Perro does, but also does push ups. Okay, is he going to take his shot? No, Perro just goes wild with punches and forearms. He very nearly knocks out Damian in the cross fire. Perro finally calms down, just to find Wagner and Caras wanting to get revenge for his cheap shot, but everything gets talked down. Crowd lout for Mistico. Perro steps out, but comes back into face him. Corner whip, Mistico up the corner and back with an armdrag. Perro chops him, down charges, drop toe hold, 619 is ducked, and Perro is thrilled about that. Less thrilled when Mistico hits him with a superkick. Mistico teases dive, holds at the ropes, and slingshots into a tornillo. Dos and Wagner clean up in the ring for the finishes.

Mistico seems disappointed he did not finish off Perro. Halloween rants after the match. Julio Cesar keeps trying to hand the microphone over to Mistico, but Damian steals it away. "Listen Mistico, I want talk to you one more f[not bleeped!]g time, man." Okay, but he hands off the microphone to Perro, who hands over the mic to Mistico. Mistico has no issue in beating Damian for his hair if he wants it. Same thing with Perro, who just mocks him. Damian gets the microphone and argues in song. This is going nowhere, good thing it's over.
