AAA Mini Line - 01/20/07
written: 02/07/07

They've moved from the pre-meal mingling to the eating itself. Announcers start off with words about Pena and a happy new year cheer.

Piero wishes...Piero has a very quiet voice.

Announcer has Ozz with Cibernetico and Chessman, which is bound to cause trouble. Ozz is here in full makeup (so is Chessman.) Cibernetico has crazy sideburns. He's been watching his Rock DVDs. Anyway, they're here to talk about the Atomicos titles, and there's varying views on who was responsible for them keeping those belts. Ozz annoys Chessman and Cibernetico that they abandon the interview to go eat.

2006-05-31 Rey Cometa, Laredo Kid, Super Fly, Nemesis vs Chessman, Ozz, Cuervo, Scoria. (9:08)

Rossy Moreno wishes...

Pepe Casas wishes...

Juvi talks about the genius that went into creating the Mexican Powers. Psicosis II stands nearby. Oh, he does get to talk. I want to say "what is with Juvi here?" but, he's just Juvi. Everyone sign the Mexican Powers song.

2006-05-20 Juventud Guerrera, Crazy Boy, Psicosis vs Shocker, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido. Hey, another date I got wrong. Why is Psicosis captain? Shocker's on this quite a lot, though I think this is the end of him. Crowd is dead for this match. Juvi's wearing his mask here, I think with the idea that he hasn't had a chance to take it off, but nah. Tecnicos get the comeback when Zumbido crotches himself all by himself. That's a way. Juvi does get the mask off for the comeback, so there you go. I'm so not even paying attention this week, though watching Zumbido mack on a front row woman is interesting for all the wrong reasons. (10:27)

Super Calo wishes...Super Calo's still in the promotion? I spotted Chris Stone earlier and he was wearing a different outfit so...

Mascarita Sagrada and Octagoncito talk to Dr. Morales. I don't think Mascarita ate much in that mask. He doesn't have anything but small nose holes.

2006-06-18 Mascarita Sagrada, Octagoncito, La Parka vs Mini Abismo Negro, Jerrito Estrada, Mini Chessman. They really didn't do much with the minis this year, did they? The matches were good, but I can't think of much angle wise. (9:16)

Abismo Negro is wearing all black. He's looking somber for a party. He does not have the white face paint on. Vipers blah blah blah.

2006-06-18 Mixed Tag Tournament. Did the winners - Abismo & Diabolica - ever get their shot? I don't remember it.  (segment goes 10:18)

Fabi Apache wishes...

Noti AAA
- Hey, look a tree
- Hey, look, Porky. I like how Porky was wearing a mask to disguise his identity.
- Traci and Christy appeared once, wrestled once (sorta) and so here's a feature on them
- Crazy Boy did moonsaults off tall things
- Chessman did a moonsault off a cage. That didn't work out well for him.

Announcers discuss the next match. Arturo is still tore up about Zorro losing his hair.

2006-06-18 Zorro vs Charly Manson [cage, hair] - hey, look, it's a cage with a top. I really haven't seen any of TripleMania, I believe So no one possibly can interfere in this one! They stick a camera guy on top, which can't be a fun job. The cage is filled with weapon, including scissors. So all we get are prop bits. Both men bleed a bunch. Chessman and Escoria run in with write cutters, making  Chessman a hole to get thru. Chessman comes in, spits mist at Zorro, and then gets yelled at by Charly who wants to finish it himself. Chessman climbs out, and Charly gives him a Gory Bomb. Tirantes gives Zorro a ten count from outside the ring, and Zorro ain't even stirring at ten. They clip out the mask being put on - it's on as they're cutting his hair. (10:15)

Cibernetico wishes...

Brazo de Plata talks about his debut during

2006-06-18 La Parka Jr. vs Muerte Cibernetico [mask] - so I did see this one before I reviewed it, when I was watching this show as it originally aired, and the main event made me laugh and laugh and laugh for being so AAA. People involved in this singles match: Muerte Cibernetica, La Parka Jr., Tirantes, Cibernetico, Brazo de Plata, Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis II, Crazy Boy, Joe Lider (masked), Espiritu, Escoria, Cuervo, Ozz, Chessman, Oriental, Abismo Negro, Intocable, Vampiro, Mascarita Sagrada, Octagoncito (both of which get beat up off screen) and Hijo de Tirantes. 20! And they miss the three count! The match between Parka and Muerte stops at times , with both guys just sitting around, to let the other people do their spots. Priorities, don't you know. The Mexican Powers and the Sect battle to the back with the SWect in control, and then battle all the way back to the ring so the Powers can get revenge in front of the fans. While they're fighting in the back, nothing much happens in the ring. My favorite bit is Abismo (eventually all by themselves) getting into a fight with Octagon, Intocable, and Vampiro, the fight stopping, and AAA continually showing the scene of nothing more happening (and the guys realizing it and faking like something might happen as long as those red lights are on.)

I didn't realize it till I watched the match, but after Muerte reveals his 'real name' to be Ricky Banderas, announcer Jesus Z is all like 'no, really, your REAL name' and Banderas says "Gilbert Cosme" a bit softly. (15:24)

Octagon talks about the titles he's holding and never does anything with.

2006-07-06 Octagon vs Zumbido [MEX MIDDLE] - If Octagon winning a title from Zumbido that Zumbido didn't do anything with and neither has Octagon isn't weird enough, Chessman is Zumbido's corner man for no discernible reason and the two breakup before the match even gets started. That would seem like a tease for a non-existent program. Octagon has no second. Okay, then Zumbido gets a visual pinfall after accidentally slapping Hijo de Tirantes down, and Electroshock runs out as a faux referee to make the non-binding three count. That goes nowhere, although maybe there it's Electro flaking out again. Electro makes belt motions towards the ring (like, how was he expecting to get the belt here? I'm not following his logic) and a very thin looking Pena watches from the entrance. After a half minute of Hijo de Tirantes trying to figure out what's going on, Octagon goes directly to the finish, collects the belt. (7:12)

Octagon wishes

2006-07-30 Chessman, Konnan, Muerte Cibernetico vs Brazo de Plata, Gronda II, La Parka Jr. - this is really just the Sect turn on Cibernetico and we get a long vignette of Cibernetico and a woman who is not Estrellita coming to the arena. This is notable because Estrellita tries to make the save after the turn. She's one understanding girlfriend. Who gets jumped by Tiffany to make sure there's more things going on than there needed to be. I think Cibernetico was bleeding but it didn't really show. Groon wearing a neck brace is hilarious for some reason. He never actually makes it to the ring, Chessman spears him in the aisle and the match is over within a minute. And then they repeat the angle in the hallway, in case you missed in the first time. Pena takes down Muerte! That's worth it. (28:27 over 3 segments, very little of it the actual match)

Joaquin Roldan toasts the crowd.  The Barrio Boys are eating with Gran Apache! Someone needs to arrange seating better.

Announcers say goodbye. That's it.
