12/15: Mexico, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 12/14 Arena Mexico [ovaciones, ESTO, HesnupiH @ BOX Y LUCHA
1) Calígula & Méssala b Sensei & Tigre Blanco
2) Pequeño Black Warrior, Pequeño Damian 666, Pierrothito b Atomo, Mascarita Dorada, Tzuki
3) Felino, Heavy Metal, Rey Bucanero b Averno, Mephisto, Satánico
4) Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero b Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone
5) LA Park, Negro Casas, Shocker b Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila, Terrible

Park’s team won the main in straight falls.

Ultimo Guerrero snuck in a foul on Wagner for the pinfall. Wagner left by an alternate path as to not cross ways with with Park between matches.

Tercera was said to be best of the night.

Mini Damian yanked Dorada’s mask to pin him, so that feud is underway. The resumption show figures to be on 01/18, and I think they’re on track for a title match there.

Ovaciones lists the crowd as over 8,000.

CMLL (TUE) 12/18 Arena Mexico
1) Super Camaleon & Super Tri vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Metálico, Starman, Tony Rivera vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Diamante Negro Jr., Dr. X
3) Flash, Stuka Jr., Super Nova vs Loco Max, Nosferatu, Virus
4) Heavy Metal, La Máscara, Valiente vs Mephisto, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V vs Dos Caras Jr., Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr.

Good looking card, though the main event is not quite there.

CMLL (FRI) 12/21 Arena Mexico

  1. CAN52 aired the expected matches.

Comments are going down periodically and I can’t fix it at the moment.

  2. By ‘expected’, do you mean the first match was a repeat of one that already aired on the main show last week from the big Arena Mex card, or was it the unaired match – Mistico/Negro/Panther V Ultimo/Atlantis/Averno?

  3. I hope the Mistico match but if it is the segunda once again… I won’t be too broken up at all. If they insist on sticking to the segundas, it’s at the right time since mini’s have that spot for two straight weeks.

I wonder if the Wagner match makes air today? If he was just a last minute independently contracted sub, surely they wouldn’t put his match on TV.

  4. Alexis also noted that next week’s minis match actually has Pequeno Halloween in Pierrothito’s place.

  5. La lucha esta en la calle is indeed a lucha show, well, almost.I guess they got those guys for Shocker and Bucky Atrevete te te salte del closet

  6. No mini’s?:( GdR will have it for sure…

Cadena Tres advertised the top 3 from Tuesday and it just begining.

  7. The graphic between commercials is the only thing lagging horribly. Otherwise the show is playing at 150k, so basically a good day for the XEJ-TV feed type quality. Maybe a touch better. Short commercials.

  8. C3 opener was pretty bad. They did nothing at all except for an exchange with Azteca Jr./Dr. X. Third fall was 2 minutes long and had dives + finish immediatly. Nothing seemed edited out either. I hope that isn’t a sign of things to come…

  9. The top 3 seem to have pre-match interviews + full intros. This is very GdR/FSE-esque minus the annoying graphics during the matches and the huge edit jobs (although let’s wait and see on that).

  10. Top 4, if we get that every week we’re doing ok. :)

I was obviously kinda hoping that this channel was a million miles away from Televisa and that they aired the opener too because they could EASILY edit 5 matches into a 2hr show with commercials. Even throw it into a momentos type 2-3 minute package.

But top 3 would have sucked, as it would just mostly be established guys going through the motions. So we can’t complain with 4, and you sometimes get some *real* undercarders in that Tuesday Segunda spot so it’s not so bad :)

Would rule if deporTV just turned their 4 minute segment into opener highlights! :D

  11. Gala show was saying Tuesday show will start at 7:30 which should give them more time to develop something into their matches.

  12. Yes but are some of these guys talented enough to add something to these matches is the real question.

The commercials here are about 30 seconds in length which is cool.

  13. Plus we have the 52mx documentaries in 2008. Features on Mistico, students, and other interesting stuff to look at.

  14. Tercera wasn’t too hot either. Exact match you’d see on GdR/FSE except w/o the opening mat stuff edited out. Skandalo didn’t annoy me too much and was actually the best guy on his team this time around.

  15. Well, for a non-Friday card, that match was certainly pretty fun considering it didn’t have the best lineup on paper.

Stuka sticks out a mile though.

  16. Footage looks cleaner without that bright red Cemento ad on the aisle like they have on Friday. Compare to footage on cmll.com and you see the difference.

  17. I didn’t think it was too bad, the main was okay, for us without a dish, it’s nice to have an alternative to AAA.

  18. Overall thoughts – a nice alternative for those who don’t get GdR/FSE weekly. This will definitely fill your need for CMLL. For those who do get those shows… it might be a TOUCH overkill. 3 of the 4 matches all had the exact same format (slow start, dive + finish, rudos brawl and win, dives + finish) with no variation at all. Not even a nearfall attempted in any of the third falls.

Some fresh new faces will brighten this show up for sure as this week’s lower card matches weren’t special.

  19. Thumbnails are finally up. Photos don’t give away too much which is always good.:) Match was on the big screen so it SHOULD be airing on GdR next week. I might just snap if it doesn’t.:)

A photo of the opener shows Messala assisted Caligula into a dropkick on the ramp on Tigre Blanco. How do you land on something like that? Did he take a bad bump on the ramp or somehow do the dropkick and still land on his feet?

Rest of the show doesn’t look too hot although Chui would be a better person to judge that since he’s seen it.

  20. Pretty good show. For a company that has no background in Lucha, I thought they did a good job. I liked the post-match promos building to something. Better effort than any of the many Lucha shows we’ve seen by people who have years of experience producing Lucha Libre.

  21. the arena mexico show looks good for me. i really want to see mascarita dorado in cmll. i wish there was a way to watch cmll on tv or internet. especially would like to see dr wagner jr back in arena mexico. plus i like the teaming up of felino, heavy metal & rey bucanero.

i think i asked but just in case i didnt, is there still that one site with the streaming feed on cmll on saturdays or sundays? i remember it not being the best quality but it was way better than nothing.
