12/14: Mexico preview, notes

CMLL (FRI) 12/14 Arena Mexico
1) Sensei & Tigre Blanco vs Calígula & Méssala
2) Atomo, Mascarita Dorada, Tzuki vs Pequeño Black Warrior, Pequeño Damian 666, Pierrothito
3) Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas vs Averno, Mephisto, Satánico
4) Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero vs Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero
5) LA Park, Místico, Shocker vs , Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila
La Park’s revenge talk makes ESTO today as the main story of the show. Notimex hypes the return of Wagner. Ovaciones wonders if Wagner and Park will cross paths.

Atlantis’ new direct to video movie debuts before the wrestling tonight. Loco Max has a part in the movie.

ESTO writes about Mistico and Perro’s injuries. Nothing new about Perro, but they’re still one week away from getting a complete diagnosis for Mistico. On Wednesday’s Figure Four Daily (subscriber only – go subscribe), Steve Sims suggested the neck injury may not be as severe as advertised, but more so being used as a cover story to give Mistico some time off for general recovery.

Today’s also the last AAA taping of the year, though it won’t air until 2007. I’m still expecting everyone turning on Mesias, but I’ve been wrong about AAA lately.

OCESA, Mexico promoters of WWE events, released a list of scheduled participants, but this’ll surely be changed between now and 02/10. Tickets go on sale this weekend, so they’d just like people to be excited about it right now.

Ovaciones mentioned yesterday that Carlos Eilzondo, Arena Coliseo Monterrey promotion, was suing CMLL. He was part of the group when they changed from EMLL to CMLL and is upset about something or other – they’ve mentioned dues, but I think it’s more a power issue – but Arturo Rivera had mentioned this prior and nothing had come of it. Seems like nothing still is happening, because CMLL says they haven’t received word of a suit.

  1. That’s the old Arena Mexico lineup. The new one has the changed already mentioned two days ago plus I noticed Rey Bucanero was put in the tercera. Good for him.

  2. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEXT WEEK – REVANCHA MATCH WITH THE SAME MINI’S!!!

This might end up being the winter of the mini’s for the CMLL! I was hoping they’d do a revenge match setup tonight but didn’t wanna jynx it.

Also it looks like next week’s Cadena Tres will have a good match:

STUKA JR., SÚPER NOVA Y FLASH VS VIRUS, LOCO MAX Y NOSFERATU

Lineups went up fast… show must have just ended half hour ago.

  3. Shit, check out the still of Dorado’s dive on Superluchas!! Kinda puts it into perspective how crazy those little guys are when they decide to hit dives from the top!

The same goes for the rest of the small guys like Tzuki when he occasionally does a tornillo from there, and even moreso, Atomo hitting that moonsault last week, what a nutter!

I guess it’s like the equivalent of a full size wrestler jumping to the outside off a (non CMLL maybe) steel cage :)

I know, it’s probably no more crazy a dive than what they hit on a weekly basis, but the still photograph really emohasizes just how much air they’re actually getting as you sometimes don’t appreciate it on TV.
It also hits home how important a good catcher is!
