11/19: Xalapa, Coliseo, Monterrey

CMLL (THU) 11/15 Arena Xalapa [EL SANTÓN @ box y lucha]
1) Gabriel o Gabriela & Gore b Crazyman & Rey Garfio Jr.
2) Caballero Negro Jr., Guerrero del Infierno, Perro Mocho Jr. b Cosmos, Jaguar, Samuray
3) La Sombra, Sagrado, Volador Jr. DRAW Mascara Purpura, Stuka Jr., Valiente
4) Blue Panther, Mistico, Rey Bucanero b Averno, Black Warrior, Ultimo Guerrero
5) LA Park b Pierroth [hair]

Main event was a total hardcore match – barbed wire, lightbulb tubes, fire – everything CMLL complains about AAA, actually. You can see pictures if you scroll thru that thread. ESTO has a post match photo. Blue Panther replaced Shocker. Tercera went to a draw, and the two teams agreed to a title match.

CMLL (SUN) 11/18 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones]
1) Atomo & Fantasy b Fire & Pequeno Black Warrior
2) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela b Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
3) Euforia, Mr. México, Nosferatu b Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Mictlán
4) Felino, La Máscara, Negro Casas b Ephesto, Mephisto, Sangre Azteca
5) Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone, Shocker b el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Ovaciones says Perro let his teammates do all the work in the later stages of the main event. I don’t know if that means he bailed on them, or if it was just business as usual. Mr. Mexico snuck in a low blow on Leono to continue that feud. They made challenges for next Sunday, and I’ll get to that in a sec. Lady Apache got a bit of revenge on Amapola.

CMLL (SUN) 11/25 Arena Coliseo
1) Sombra de Plata & Trueno vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Lady Apache, Marcela, Princesa Blanca vs Amapola, La Seductora, Rosa Negra
3) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Mascara Purpura vs Euforia, Mr. México, Nosferatu
4) Alex Koslov, Rey Bucanero, Sagrado vs Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V
5) Blue Panther, Marco Corelone, Negro Casas vs Atlantis, Olímpico, Último Guerrero

This is the final show in Arena Coliseo until construction is finished. I presume they decided to hold Mexico/Leono over for one week to have a notable match to push for the first Sunday show in Arena Mexico. (They may have failed at ‘notable’, but what are you going to do.) Seems like they’re setting up an Amapola/Apache rematch on this day of the week. I should probably note the Villanos are back together.

AAA (SUN) 11/18 Expo Feria Durango
5) Antifaz del Norte, Batman del Futuro, Hijo del Soberano b Drako, Ghefar, Sangre Chicana

Intocable was supposed to be in the main event (instead of Batman del Futuro), but was said to be injuried in Salamanca. Everyone with a ticket stub can use it for a free ticket to the AAA show next month in town (with Octagon, Martha Villalobos, and Nygma.)

AAA (SUN) 11/18 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) Dranser & Euforia (Monterrey) b Scravos & Shenky
2) Dr. Cianuro, Guerrero Blanco, Virtual b Baby Fox, Criminal, Iron
3) Mari Apache & Mini Abismo Negro b Mini Chessman & Sexy Star
4) Rey Cometa & Super Fly b Guerrero Negro Jr. & Sangre Chicana Jr.
5) Espíritu & Ozz b Crazy Boy & Joe Lider

CMLL (MON) 11/19 Arena Puebla
1) Blue Center & King Jaguar vs Espiritu Maligno & Karisma
2) Centella de Oro, the Tigre, Tigre Rojo vs Fuerza Chicana, Mr. Rafaga, Siki Ozama
3) Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito, Tzuki vs Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Damian 666, Pierrothito
4) La Sombra, Sagrado, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Marco Corelone, Místico, Rey Bucanero vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Olímpico

Hmmm, Mexican Trios champions teaming up in the semimain against a team which would sure work as challengers. Maybe we get a title match here too.

CMLL VIP (SAT) 12/08 Velvet Mexico [TAKER @ el Martinete]
1) Sombra 2 & Trueno vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Luna Magica & Marcela vs Amapola & Hiroka
3) Stuka Jr. & Valiente vs Nitro & Volador Jr.
4) La Sombra & Sagrado vs Mephisto & Misterioso II
5) Místico, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Atlantis, Averno, Black Warrior

Who’s Sombra 2?

AAA (MON) 11/19 Arena Cuatro Caminos [RFC]
1) Martha Villalobos & Sexy Star vs Lady Star & Xochitl Hamada
2) Insolito & Maravilla Lopez vs Rio Bravo & Tito Santana II [AAA NORTH TAG]
3) Hermano Diablo I, Hermano Diablo II, Hermano Diablo III vs Baby Rap, Sangre Chicana Jr., Sky
4) Hombre Sin Miedo, Juventud Guerrera, Octagón vs Antifaz del Norte, Fuerza Guerrera, Pirata Morgan

El Siglo de Torreon has notes form Gran Markus’ funeral, and quotes from Felino and Mascara Ano 2000

Mr. Reyes @ box y lucha (and other places!) has pictures from this week’s AULL show. Recap coming in thegladiatores.

Man robs 7-Eleven in ‘Nacho Libre’ mask” – actually, looks like a Rey Misterio mask, but all lucha masks are now Nacho Libre masks to US media. I did not commit this crime. Just thought I’d mention that.

  1. Sombra 2 is Sombra De Plata who’s name probably didn’t fit on the poster.:)

I love how Arena Puebla is getting better matches than anything at Arena Coliseo and Mexico.

  2. Watch some kind of ban on Lucha masks after this robbery. In 1995, I was wearing a Parka mask in public, on the way to a Halloween event, and the NYPD wanted to give me a ticket and told me I could be arrested. I talked my way out of it.

I think Puebla gets better matches because the matchmaker has a better sense of what people want to see.

LA Park off Todo X? About the only thing Santo can do right now is work things out with his nephew and feud with him. Funny how Santo worked so hard against him, and now Nieto would make a great opponent. The match has never been done, and Nieto does not have ties to ArMex.

  3. Bihari only said that because minis are in the Especial. Puebla shows get aired locally but they surely suck, guys over there get hyped up and call Leon-o vs Loco Max a dream match, so that’s the level of lucha we would have to expect.

  4. The photo of the trios tecnicos match from Xalapa had the DOUBLE MOONSAULT TO THE FLOOR SPOT! So I’m not convinced the guys bust out their workrate everywhere except Arena Mexico.

    Puebla locals blow.

  5. Nah, Arena Xalapa never makes air. Maybe they’ll do this match again someplace that gets taped in six months.

  6. Pierroth said that that’s the start of his retirement tour, so maybe he’ll go away with another hair loss… in like 20 years.
