Projected Air Date (#656)
Mexico: 12/09
US: 12/29

This is the final taping before Guerra de Titanes. AAA’s backload of TV tapings means this won’t air till 9 days after the show happens, so they probably won’t be doing much. All build has to be focused in terms of making people watch the TV show the following week rather then selling tickets to the big card.

As a result, I think we’ve got a lot of place keeping here. The cage mach will surely end with the Cibernetico getting laid out by many men in the cage (and then rising to cut another promo.) The semimain sort kinda builds Air Force vs the Sect, but it’s more to give a happy finish since Kenzo doesn’t appear to be here to build that feud. Everything else probably ends up with the tecnicos looking to get their revenge “next week.”

The tercera is a trios incredible match – it’s one Mexican Powers, one Familia de Tijuana and one Legion member per team. This indicates Jack Evan and Teddy Hart aren’t coming in till GdT (and perhaps only for that show) since they logically belong in X-Pac and Electroshock’s spots

This is the Gran Apache’s first match back, as far as we know, though it seems possible he’d be on the Xalapa taping once that lineup comes out.

No idea who Gato Eveready is.

This has nothing to do with this taping, but I’ve noticed MedioTiempo hasn’t posted ANY lucha news since they posted the GdT lineup five days ago. Perhaps an issue there?

(tentative) Upcoming Tapings
11/30 Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero
maybe one more taping in December?

  1. Viernes 16 en Jalapa, Veracruz.
    Lunes 19 en León Gto.
Viernes 30 en Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas.

    I’ve heard
    Friday 16 for Xalapa,
    Monday 20 for Leon,
and I’m not sure but I think 22nd for Toluca in a Funcion Teleton, I don´t know if that would air in their usual timeslot or given a different slot.

That thing of having TV tapings unaired before the big blow of shows is most annoying.

  2. Gato Eveready is obviously from the battery brand (now Energizer, although Eveready still exist here, I don’t know if maybe is a different manufacturer), I wonder if he’s a local, or AAA has a new sponsor.

  3. “4) Crazy Boy, Extreme Tiger, Sean Waltman vs Electroshock, Halloween, Joe Lider [ri]”

Why do I have a feeling it’s gonna be FDT and MP’s Vs Legion?

  4. The Energizer Bunny would be fun, for one match. Or he could keep running in (and thru) matches, that’d work for AAA.

  5. Maybe it’s AAA’s answer to Rayovac buying all that signage at ArMex and Coliseo.

So El Piolin por la Manana, the most listened to Spanish-language radio personality in America, has started his push for his big Lucha show at Pico Rivera Sports Arena in LA on 11/17 with Santo, Mil Mascaras, Piratatita, Espectro Jr(I bet he’ll wear his mask)etc.. Once again they ask everyone to bring toys for the poor. I guess it’s going to be an annual event by Piolin and Univision radio. They’re running spots all day nationwide, so this is great publicity for Santo.

  6. If you go down to Mexico and ask 100 guys who Piolin por la Mañana is, 100 guys will tell you they have no idea. Hijo del Santo needs publicity in Mexico City, the December show is going to bomb badly as it is now.

Maybe more advertisers are jumping into the AAA ship, the VIP match they aired last Sunday had Hermanos Vazquez and Holcim heavily featured on it, even more than usual COMEX. I guess maybe those are only for those shows.

  7. Holcim is all over the place these days. I think Arena Mexico has too many logos, but if the sponsors want to be part of the clutter, I guess it’s working. The entrance ramp logo of Tolteca sticks out more than the Corona ring mat logo to me.

Santo is an idiot for running Toreo. Too big, and he has one of the worst enemies in Paco Alonso. My point simply was that he’s getting huge publicity in the US from this show.

TNA’s promoter could’ve found a better place as well. Will TNA sell more that 4,000 tickets? Can’t wait for Abizmo Neggro to work, b/c you know AAA will threaten legal action if he uses the AAA trademarked gimmick.

  8. Well wouldn’t AAA have a problem with one of there biggest rudos in Mesias working the TNA show? Of course he has a deal with TNA so they don’t have much say.
