11/06: notes

Sunday’s Arena Coliseo Guadalajara show was canceled due to problems at the arena. No word on if todays show is still on, or if they’ll redo the planned Texano Jr./Dos Caras Jr. title match at another date.

So someone started a “Mistico’s going to face AJ Styles at the 12/15 TNA in Mexico show”. (I’ve seen wrestlingdom.com credit, but that site is not working for me right now.) That person is an evil genius. Probably wrong, but still. TNA confirms Silver King and Dr. Wagner will be on the Friday (12/14) show and Absimo Negro will be on the Saturday show.

AAA’s website put up the GdT lineup. Same as everywhere else.

Ovaciones notes Tuesday’s CMLL show, there’s a 2 for 1 deal if you buy tickets in person.

CMLL (THU) 11/08 Arena Neza
1) Rayo Tapatio II & Tiger Kid vs Polvora & Zayco
2) Mini Olimpico, Shockercito, Ultimo Dragoncito vs Gitanito, Mini Halloween, Mini Mr. Aguila
3) Fabian el Gitano, Leono, Stuka Jr. vs Dr. X, Loco Max, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.
4) Felino, Rey Bucanero, Valiente vs Arkangel, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero

Among other things noted on various trips, Arturo Rivera mentions El Dandy wants to get in AAA.

Shocker talks to el Siglo de Torreon about his problems, but only in the vaguest possible fashion. He had “a disorderly life” and “excesses”, though there’s no telling what those excesses were. Perhaps he just got addicted to a telenovela. Shocker thinks he and Bucanero should challenge for the tag team titles (which actually sounds reasonable – maybe not a draw, but what would be?) and wants to repair his relationship with Monito.

(El Sol de Tijuana) Tijuana’s comission is splitting. The comisssion of Boxing and Lucha will now be two seperate comissions. One will be for boxing, kick boxing and MMA, and one will just be for lucha libre. This means the wrestling proceedes won’t be supporting boxing anymore.

El Sol de Tulancingo writes about the best days of Arena Libertad.

Random interview with Chyna. I dunno.

Super Luchas #237 has Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero with the belts and Goldberg holding a magazine (from the ill-fated Cow Palace convention.) Haven’t seen any other magazines this week.

While waiting to see if Box Y Lucha’s lineups would or Arena Puebla results would turn up (no and no), I got the PR hype for Saturday’s lucha card in Hammond. Card seems to be the same as what I posted in the comments. This was my favorite part:

Rocky Romero is not typically considered a luchador, but his 2 year reign as CMLL’s Super Ligero Champion ranks among the longest title runs anywhere in modern wrestling.

It still exists! I figured it was lost in a closet. (Since I didn’t see pictures, it still might.) Heck, when I was looking thru my closet this morning for my winter coat, I thought I might move something around and find out I had it and accidently put on a shelf. I mean, I’ve defended it as often as Romero in the last two years.

8 thoughts to “11/06: notes”

  1. Funny. Wrestlinginc.com also has “Styles vs. Mistico Set For TNA In Mexico” as the heading for the TNA article on the Mexico shows.

  2. For those who have not clicked the link to the article about Tulancingo and Arena Libertad, you must just to see the photo. That mask sure looks familiar.

  3. Does Shocker still have that hot ass girlfriend?

I also heard the Abismo Negro is wrestling one of the TNA shows in Mexico. Chances of him no showing?

  4. I wonder if we can get an ID on that wrestler.

Libertad made tv once when AAA was doing lots of hours of tv every week. Looked like a slightly larger Xochimilco or Arena Aficion.

Changing the topic, WON says Konnan is not working every tv and AAA won’t be bringing in so many foreigners unless they live down in Mexico. It will be very interesting to see what happens at tv’s that Konnan is not working. After seeing this weekends tv, AAA is in need of change as much as TNA. My guess is Konnan will eventually leave AAA anyway and beg for his job back at TNA.

  5. Wrestlingdom is the website a ton of idiots at the ByL forum visit to get their WWE news. I have never been to the site so I don’t know how accurate they are with WWF stuff, but their Mexico coverage is horrible. The problem is – I get the feeling a lot of people that visit the site for WWE news are just newbies to the whole “intranet spreadz RUMERZ” thing and take everything as fact.

Notable rumors (read: facts to the ByL members) to come out of the site:

    – Mini Mistico.
    – Black Warrior in AAA.
    – Wagner vs Mistico – Mask vs Mask on 9/28.
    – Ciber and Estrellita get married.

Among various others but those are the ones I rememebr off the top of my head since I specifically tried to tell everyone (in broken Spanish but still…) to calm down and those are just rumors but was promptly met with “NO WAY DOOD – MINI MISTICO SUX”. So yeah…

El Dandy doesn’t want in AAA, he wants in CMLL. He just uses AAA for leverage every few months and now is a good time since CMLL is drawing horribly. Remember the AAA taping he was booked on a few months back? Two of them in fact.

  6. DeporTV clips are up w/ mini’s and not a tiger any more Metalico barely flipping on asai moonsault.

They called Metalico = Jimmy Neutron and they called Diamante Negro = Arkangel Negro.

  7. What’s interesting about the TNA website info on the Mexico tour is they say Sting is working. So the promoters in Mexico must be coughing up a crazy amount of cash to get this tour off the ground. Usually, TNA website is pretty good about listing the names who work the house shows, and rarely false advertise someone. I’d love to see Dandy back in CMLL.
