11/09 Arena Mexico Lineup

CMLL (FRI) 11/09 Arena Mexico [superluchas]
1) Atomo & Mascarita Dorada vs Mini Black Warrior & Mini Damian 666
2) Dark Angel vs Marcela, Luna Magica, Rosa Negra, Amapola, Princesa Sujei, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda [ciber]
3) Alex Koslov, Felino, Volador Jr. vs Misterioso II, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
4) Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero, Sombra vs Black Warrior, Lizmark Jr., Ultimo Guerrero
5) Blue Panther, Negro Casas, Shocker vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila, Texano Jr.

I’m not sure why there’s a women’s cibernetico. After seeing Lady Apache’s dive gone wrong, they might need to declare a new champion, but this one looks like a cibernetico to do a cibernetico so far.

Dorada’s never making it on TV.

  1. I’m wondering if Atomo isn’t a regimmicked Tzuki since the description fits him and he didn’t show in his Tzuki gimmick this past Tuesday.

Certainly seems that they’re building up to a year-ender with Shocker vs one of many PdM’s in a hair match.

Wouldn’t be shocked if they also built to a Bucanero/?Panther? tag match against his ex-partner Guerrero and Atlantis for the belts.

Koshinaka appears to be gone so that’s a +1 for this group.

But the entire lineup earns them a -250.

    Stronger lineups, huh?

    Fuck CMLL.

  2. I saw that Dark Angel photo shoot from Box Y lucha and she still can’t light a candle to Fabi Apache.

Match 3 would be good if Olympico wasn’t in it. He’s horrible. So he should main event CMLL and job to Mistico.

  3. Those Dark Angel photos are a great advertisement for photoshop. I saw the photos before I knew who they were of and I had no clue at all. I was stunned to find out it was Sarah. She’s very cute but those photos look nothing like her unfortunately.

  4. Tim: give me a link to that photo shoot and I’ll be the judge of whether or not she’s better than Fabi Apache.

  5. “Overall, good show”. That’s how Meltzer’s new Lucha reporter described this weekend’s AAA episode. Well, it started off on a good note, literally, because the Apache ring intro music sounds awesome. And Cinthia Moreno looks to be in the best shape of her life.

I noticed that weapons were used in every single match today. Even the Apache’s vs. Oriental/Cinthia opener used chairs.

By the end of the show, we saw about 25 chairs, a fork, a mirror, long light bulbs, and of course, tables. There were run-ins in 3 of the 4 matches too. Four one-fall matches in a three-hour block?

Pretty soon, they’ll book Chessman vs. Apache in a wheel chair race, b/c that’s where Chessman may be headed. Today’s stunt was scary. And I don’t think anyone in AAA is going to try to discourage this continuing pattern. They obviously condone this.

Extreme Tiger seemed to overshoot another highspot. I don’t know what Joe Lider was trying on the ring-apron with one of the Secta guys, but it looked pretty dangerous. But not nearly as dangerous as the slam Lider took through two long light-tubes. It’s not the first time he has done this, so it’s clear AAA wants him to keep doing it.

    Things are getting out-of-control.

  6. I’m a little puzzled by the harsh criticism of CMLL. What is wrong with a potential Shocker vs. PdM hair stip match? If it happens that’s a pretty big match, especially if Aguayo wins Shocker’s hair.

Bucanero/Panther vs. UG/Atlantis for the belts? I’d pay to see that any day. Women’s Cibernetico? I think it’s a change from the ordinary tags matches where we forget the names of those involved after Sara Stock, Lady Apache, and Princesa Sujey.

I know it’s frustrating that Dorada may not make tv as fast as we’d like. And I agree that it takes CMLL too long to elevate stars who deserve to be in the main event, but it’s hardly a company that’s unwatchable.

They do stupid little things. Like on the last PPV, they just threw out match after match. They should’ve had promos with each of the participants of the main event between matches, to build up to the main event later on.

Their satellite shows have also turned into a disappointment. In reality, CMLL fans should be happy GdL exists because it gives us a chance to see the Sangre Azteca’s, Misterioso’s, and Valiente’s featured on a steady basis. My only big problem with GdL is DdR. Do we need to see Texano Jr., and 2Caras cooking chicken breasts? Sangre Azteca’s very plain looking wife? Misterioso’s humble apartment? These segments would’ve killed the Arena Mexico rudos if seen on Televisa 9. Luckily, it’s on a show that reaches a lower percentage of Mexicans than free tv. CMLL may not be as good as it once was, but it’s still pretty good. Try watching or attending Smackdown.

  7. FWIW, no Outside the Ring segment this week on CAN52 at least. 50/50 if it was a plan or if it was due to the women’s match falling apart after Apache’s injury.

  8. C52Mx and FSE have the same segments (including Arte del Catch and trivia) every week, but the US FSE is 3 weeks behind, so what you watch (or not watch) in C52Mx, will be the same 3 weeks later in FSE.

  9. I will say this, that crowd on AAA during Accion was just nuts for everything Cibernetico did. Mostly girls screaming, but it still seemed nuts.

But I’m really down on AAA, mainly out of fear that someone will be a cripple or severely deformed by the end of the year.

  10. Kind of. He seems like a very sad soul. And this week, after being bodyslammed through two long light bulbs by Halloween, even he seemed
like he wasn’t having fun. I used to get a kick out of Lider with botched moves and a few tables breaking, but someone better get things under control fast.

I wonder how much different AAA would be if Pena was still alive. I also wonder if the higher-ups at Galavision are really watching the show? I don’t think US-based programmers would like the violence. Things are bad when the Apache/Moreno match needs chairs.

And why the new format? Four matches in three hours?

  11. Is no 3 hours anymore because of the NFL. Today´s show had 6 matches though, again, they should drop NotiAAA since it just takes up space for stuff they put across during the show, only new bit of info was Cinthia Moreno in a bodybuilding contest (maybe it was fitness, who cares).

  12. Didn’t NotiAAA plug tv tapings too?

I figured Cinthia was competing, b/c I could not believe how ripped she was, and that’s with shitty lighting.

  13. They plugged tv tapings in the “coming up next” segments, giving the lineups or partial lineups at least, so the NotiAAA plugs which only mentions where are they being held… which makes NotiAAA usseless.
