11/01: Coliseo, Gomez Palacio

It’s not Dia de la Muerte if I don’t have a skeleton doing a plancha on this page. That looks a billion times more creepy than I thought it would.

CMLL (TUE) 10/30 Arena Coliseo
1) Angel Azteca Jr. & Tiger Kid b Polvora & Vaquero
2) Bracito de Oro, Fantasy, Mini Olimpico b Mini Black Warrior, Pequeno Damian 666, Pequeno Halloween
3) Metalico, Mictlan, Tigre Blanco b Diamante Negro, Euforia, Nosferatu
4) Alex Koslov, La Mascara, Valiente b Damian 666, Misterioso II, Texano Jr.
5) Black Warrior, Villano IV, Villano V b Blue Panther, Mistico, Volador Jr.

Mistico got Warrior in the main event. Fantasy and Mini Olimpico replaced Shockercito and Tzuki and Mini Warrior filled in for Mr. Aguila.

CMLL (TUE) 11/06 Arena Mexico
1) Sombra de Plata & Trueno vs Caligula & Messala
2) Atomo, Pequeno Olimpico, Ultimo Dragoncito vs Mini Black Warrior, Mini Violencia, Pierrothito

This is the first Tuesday Arena Mexico show of this run. Atomo is the 4th new mini to be added to the roster (Mini Black Warrior, Mascarita Dorada, Gitanito) though I’m sure some are old guys in new gimmicks.

Ovaciones reports Fray Tormenta will start promoting CMLL spots shows to support his orphanage.

indy (THU) 11/01 Arena Olimpico Laguna de Gomez Palacio [Siglo de Torreon]

3) Hijo del Soberano & Piloto Negro vs Arana Cibernetica I & Arana Cibernetica II

CMLL Azteca (SAT) 11/03 Auditorio Centenario de Gomez Palacio [El Siglo de Torreon]

4) Damian 666, Hector Garza, Mr. Aguila vs Marco Corelone, Maximo, Toscano
5) Mistico, Rey Bucanero, Shocker vs Atlantis, Averno, Ultimo Guerrero

Rey is taking Wagner’s place here, so probably in Monterrey as well. This article is under the impression Bucanero is a rudo.

Universidad de Guanajuato is holding a tribute to Mexican science fiction films, inculding the works of Santo.

Wait, the Santo films are science fiction? I always thought they were documentaries.

  1. It’s Dia de los Muertos, which means Day of the Dead, that is, remembering friends/relatives that have passed away, not Death’s concept that is celebrated. And it is tomorrow, it’s a pretty huge holiday since many grownup guys (who are the ones that actually have money, as opposed to kids) take the opportunity to visit deceased mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc.

I’m surprised that the Wagner not working the HEB show made it to the newspaper, so that no one would feel ripped of. I was told he was not showing up last week, and was thinking he was going to pull a no-show, he’s saying that the prommoter never contacted him to be in the show, but I guess CMLL was the one booking him there. I think he might work Mty, although if both shows are prommoted by the same guy, he might be taken out as well.

  2. In this rare situation, I have a defense about screwing up Mexican cultural information – November 1st being Dia de la Muerte (and spelled like that) is what they taught me in high school spanish.

That’s a horrible weak defense, though.

I would like to thank Mexico for an awesome soccer game tonight. Cuauhtemoc Blanco’s assist tonight was great and the Fire have suddenly become the Colorado Rockies.

  3. Curious, is there halloween in Mexico too? (I’m in Canada, so I’m kinda clueless.)

If so, do the little ones go out trick or treating too? If not, what do they do?

(Sorry, I know this is off topic…just curious I guess…)

  4. There’s Halloween over here, mainly in the northern states, although it has been spreading all over (the world, I guess). It’s seen mostly as a kid’s party.

Actually, I think today is also Day of the Dead, but for children that had died, while Nov 2 celebrates the grownups. I guess most people ignore Nov 1 and pay a visit to the graveyards on November the 2nd regardless of any condition the festivity has. Many schools and other places close tomorrow observing the holiday.
