10/17: Wagner/TNA, Bam Bam wins another hair, Monterrey, Neza, Bucanero

the gladiatores

SuperLuchas says Dr. Wagner Jr. is signed to work TNA’s 12/14 Arena Monterrey show, and Silver King will likely sign on if/when he returns from Japan. This is a one-shot appearance right now, as neither are scheduled to even work the 12/15 show at Toreo de Cuatro Caminos. Super Luchas report says rumors of others participating (Perro, Aguila, Santo, etc) are just rumors at this point, even if they’ve said more in interviews.

CMLL (TUE) 10/16 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones, cmll]
1) Molotov, Tiger Kid, Trueno b Caligula, Messala, Zayco
2) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela b Diosa Maya, Medussa, Rosa Negra
3) Ephesto, Mentallo, Samurai Shiro b La Mascara, Maximo, Stuka Jr.
4) Bam Bam b Pequeno Violencia [hair]
5) Black Warrior, Lizmark Jr., Mictlan b Alex Koslov, Shocker, Volador Jr.

You can’t stop Bam Bam. This is his third hair win on Tuesday Coliseo shows in 3 months.

Mictlan filled in for Toscano (so no, he didn’t turn rudo), and Lizmark got away with a low blow on Volador for the win. Ephesto replaced Mephisto. Mentallo (on the left) is from Winnipeg and has been in Mexico since August, but this was his CMLL debut. Diosa Maya replaced Amapola, and Luna Magica ended up being strechered to the back after one of her dives went wrong. She’s holding her head in a picture, so I’m going to say it was a head injury.

indy (TUE) 10/16 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
2) Former Lover, M Sol, Scrabos b Dranzer, Fuerza Vengadora, Mr. X
3) Sex Piscis, Sexy Francis, Sexy Libra DRAW Chica de Arabia, Orquidea Negra, Potro Jr.
4) Cats, Gitano, Silver Star b Raiden, Rey Hechicero, Tigre Universitario
5) 5X, Huracan Ramirez, Huracan Ramirez Jr., Kung Fu Jr. b Anibal el Vampiro, Ares, Hijo de Espanto II, Kaoma Jr.

Kaoma Jr. working this show would seem to indicate he’s not working for AAA, and maybe hasn’t for quite some time.

indy (SUN) 10/21 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) La Pulga & Ricochet vs Aguila Azteca & Tequilita
2) Black Killer & Viernes 13 vs Hijo del Trueno & Rayo Universitario
3) Chacos & Ejecutor vs Errante Soliltario & Huracan Ramirez Jr.
4) Solar vs Negro Navarro [AMERICAS LH]
5) Hijo del Santo, Huracan Ramirez, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Enfermero Jr., Gran Markus Jr., Medico Asesino Jr.

CMLL (THU) 10/11 Arena Neza [The Gladiatores]

2) Gitanito, Pequeno Violencia, Pierrothito b Celestial, Electrico, Pequeno Olimpico
3) Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda b India Sioux, Lady Apache, Princesa Blanca
4) Felino, Kid Tiger, Metalico b Arkangel, Loco Max, Super Comando
5) Black Warrior, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca b Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Volador Jr.

Gitanito beat Mini Olimpico with a foul, as did Warrior with Shocker in the main event. Kid Tiger replaced Flash.

CMLL (SAT) 10/13 Arena Neza [the Gladiatores]
1) Bengala & Skar b Emperador & Estruendo
2) Bracito de Oro & Fantasy b Mr. Aguilita & Pierrothito
3) Princesa Blanca b La Nazi
4) Princesa Blanca b India Sioux
5) La Nazi b India Sioux
6) Alex Koslov, La Mascara, Sagrado b Misterioso II, Ramstein, Virus
7) Dos Caras Jr., Mistico, Shocker b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Rosa Negra wasn’t there for the scheduled women’s tag, so they did a three step triangle match instead. Ramstein replaced Texano, Bracito de Oro replaced Shockercito. The main event ended with Averno and Mistico in the ring and the conventional finish.

Toryumon UDG (SUN) 10/14 Arena Coliseo [thegladiatores]
1) Daisuke Hanaoka b Satoshi Kajiwara
2) Amigo Suzuki, Arkangel de la Muerte, Negro Navarro b Coco Blanco, Coco Rojo, Coco Verde
3) Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween b Bracito de Oro & Toshiya Matsuzaki
4) Luna Magica & Marcela DRAW Halloween & Mima Shimoda
5) La Mascara & Maximo DQ Ohara & Okumura
6) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Ultimo Dragon b Atlantis, Samurai Shiro, Ultimo Guerrero

This is the typical Ultimo Dragon show.

CMLL (SUN) 10/14 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [KrisZ]
3) Atlantis & Olimpico b Infierno & Toxico [torneo, qf]
4) Gallo & Leono Blanco b Malefico & Pierroth [torneo, qf]
5) Dos Caras Jr. & Rey Bucanero b Mr. Aguila & Terrible [torneo, qf]
6) Rayman & Sagrado b Mascara Ano 2000 & Universo 2000 [torneo, qf]
7) Atlantis & Olimpico b Gallo & Leon Blanco [sf, torneo]
8) Rayman & Sagrado b Dos Caras Jr. & Rey Bucanero [sf, torneo]
9) Dos Caras Jr. & Rayman b Atlantis & Olimpico [torneo, final]

That final match looks a little off, but that’s because Dos Caras Jr. replaced Sagrado after he got hurt in the semifinal. The semifinal saw Rey Bucanero working rudo, ripping up Sagrado’s mask and was credited with injuring him.

The Rey Bucanero/La Diabolica divorce story Arutro Rivera was referring to yesterday was reported Monday in La Reforma (thanks to Jazzo.) Bucanero was in jail for a few hours, having been accused of trying to kidnap his children from his wife. The article is mostly Bucanero denying the kidnapping charges and accusing the police of gross negligence in investing the case and abuse of authority; he’s implying here that his (soon to be ex) wife made all of this up to discredit Bucanero before they go to court over custody of the children and the police fell for it. This sounds very messy.

On Sunday, AAA ran a show in a (women’s?) prison. The NotiAAA blog has photos from the Santa Martha Acatitla Penitentiary, which ran the show to celebrate it’s 50th year of existence. So weird. The show was either for the staff of the building or it was family day at the prison, judging from the pictures. Sadly, there’s no wacky “rudo locked behind bars” photos here.

The Guardian Angels, led by Vampiro, will be handling security for weekly weekend street festival thru the end of the year.

El Universal has a review of Lourdes Grobet’s photo book.

This week’s DeporTV America lucha clip was not of Arena Coliseo, but a one minute piece on AAA’s Only For Women shows.

  1. Looks like last night’s ACM show is getting some mainstream publicity. I guess celebrity Iran Castillo did some kind of angle and left on a stretcher. I won’t see any of this until Saturday, but it made Primer Impacto on Univision.

This Sunday is the big ACM anniversary show.

Nice to see Mictlan move up the card for a night.

  2. “This is the typical Ultimo Dragon show.”

Not really. This looks much worse with no Skayde, Navarro or Arkangel on the undercard. The Mascara/Maximo vs Ohara/Okumura match must have been the worst match at Arena Coliseo in years.

How old is Mentalo? Just curious since his mask is an obvious hand-me-down from the days of Heraclys if anyone remembers him. I would also ask what got him into Mexico but that picture says it all if you know Paco’s favorite hobby.

This Bam Bam winning streak is quite odd. If they were gonna push him so strong, it should have been a year ago and on TV. At this point it seems like he’s gonna turn rudo and feud with Dorada which makes no sense although a tecnico vs tecnico feud would be interesting (but would kill all crowd interest). I’d be very afraid right now if I was Mr. Aguilita…

  3. Little does Paco know, Vince would probably buy the rights to televise a bodybuilding show featuring masked wrestlers.

When Sara Stock is in that kind of shape, is when she should be soliciting Stamford for a job.

  4. Are los Payasos Tricolor in Toryumon = Payasos in CMLL = Payasos in IRWG? I am confused with all these shared identities.

  5. The Payasos that worked the Toryumon show are the guys that worked in IWRG. When did Payasos appear in CMLL?

  6. There were some Puebla shows in April 2007, for example. And even more sporadic Puebla shows in the past. The reason for me to be confused is the fact that in Luchawiki, the Coco Rojo that was unmasked by Super Muñeco (Mario Jiminez) is called “not the IWRG Coco Rojo”, but he is listed as former Distrito Federal Trios Champion. In fact, there were some IWRG shows where Los Payasos defended the D.F. Trios Titles in the past (12/02/04, 09/08/05, 10/09/05). That’s why I got confused, because it looks as Jiminez and the “IWRG Coco Rojo” were very well the same?
