  1. Word is that the cage match saved the night and ther rest was lackluster, which is a bummer for guys wanting to see the whole show. Although maybe the crowd was too eager to see the main event that they didn’t care for the rest, even if it had great matches… and then, the cage match might be not that good once seen knowing the outcome.

  2. Two pictures caught my eye over at Esto’s site…

    – Sombra/Sagrado/Koslov did triple dives off the same corner of the ring which looks cool.

    – The near fatal injury to Bucanero was when Corleone tried to throw him in the air for the move where Bucanero sits on his opponents but he threw him too high and Bucanero went straight to the floor!

  3. I’m getting the good feeling that they’ll air last night top 3 just to screw the bootleggers… since the match supposedly came off “great”, they should thrumpet it loudly, not the same could be said for the Corleone vs Univeros classic.

    “”””””””””””””””

They need to put Volador and Stuka and remove Koslov to do QUADRUPLE MOONSAULTS!!! Sagrado to the mat, Stuka over the ringpost and to the sides by the rest.

  5. Bah, they came up with a VERY E-SPECIAL show…

    09/23 Arena Coliseo
    3) India Sioux, Lady Apache, Sahori DQ Amapola, La Nazi, Mima Shimoda

    09/14 Arena Mexico
    3) Mascara Purpura, Sagrado, Sombra DQ Damian 666, Mr. Aguila, Texano Jr.

    09/21 Arena Mexico
    3) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Heavy Metal, Maximo, Sombra

Worse yet, ladies match already aired on FSE… not sure but I guess the rest might have aired on C52Mx…

The segments were actually done last night…

  6. The second match aired on normal CMLL TV two weeks ago. Only new match looks to be the main event and Sombra = Sagrado.:/

Man they couldn’t even go back and show the unaired tercera from 9/7. Pathetic…

  7. Yeah, Sombra ended working the semis with Volador jr and Shocker… only good thing is that I think the Ladies match won’t be as edited, but what they showed in FSE was bad…

  8. What a really stale and shitty show. They should have aired the Neutron/Angel Azteca V Loco/Holligan opener from last week to freshen things up for a change.

Top 3 from Arena Mex next week look great, would be nice if all that makes it, especially the tercera which is in the usual dead spot.

And here’s hoping that DeporTV dedicate their full 5 minutes of highlights to the torneo. That should really have aired on the Sunday show.

  9. There’s a possibility for the next Friday’s show never airing if they use that Saturday for the Anniversary show.

  10. They’ve just announced next week show with Shocker and Black Warrior, so I guess no anniversary show for Saturday… although they did anniversary crowd shots to edit the match(es).

Yeah, that wouldn’t surprise me one bit seeing as next weeks top 3 looks so good.

    Then when TV’s back to normal in a fortnight we’ll get Perros V Guerreros #3286 and Jindrak/Koslov/DosCaras V villanos/Lizmark.

  12. Maybe the Anniversary will get a special airing showing the main event and two random undercard matches… probably the ladies and Sombra.

  13. 2 question about the anivversary:

    1)any attendance info?
    (in numbers)

    2) any match times?
(without spoilers please, i only know the result of the ME)

  14. It was a sellout. Esto has a picture of the entire building full. With the high ticket prices it is probably the biggest money making Arena Mexico show of all-time.

According to Super Luchas, no undercard match got over 12 minutes (they were all 2/3 fall matches but some didn’t go 3 falls) and the main event got over 20 minutes.

  15. I don’t think they’ll use next show for the Anniversary since they said Black Warrior and Shocker would be on it, they’re in next Friday’s show but not on the anniv.

  17. 3 hour PPV with the main event being given at least 45 minutes for intros, match and post-match. Plus it’s not like U.S. PPV, they take “commercial breaks” (ads for other PPV stuff) between matches so really you have 2 hours for 5 matches that are all 2/3 falls. Since it was PPV I’m sure it was at least all action instead of pose-fests.

  18. This is the 2nd week in a row the NFL game ends exactly at 2:59… I’m starting to suspect those are fixed… AAA is starting 5 minutes earlier… maybe they’ll over run for 10 more and have the usual show.

Looks like it will be a 2 part show.

  19. Who knows… they just said that AAA vs Legion and Dome match, but I doubt they would run another show with only the Mesias vs Chessman match as “main event”, so I guess it will be a single show…

  20. Hey cubs, in your list of what aired on CMLL’s Televisa show – the Sagrado/Metal/Maximo match didn’t air last weekend, the women’s match from Arena Mex aired.

  21. I wonder if we have to start considering the possibility no one “taped” the anniversary show…

For AAA next week they just said “Chessman vs Mesias” and “muchas sorpresas”… Triple SEM? Tabasco Taping highlights? Matches unaired from recent tapings? They ought to have Guapito in more skits with the ring girls to force AAA to air Guapo’s match.

  22. I’d guess Triple SEM for sure along with the two remaining Verano matches. I’ll have Triple SEM this week so I’ll be ahead of regular AAA TV! YAY!

What’d you think of Verano so far?

  23. SOME SPOILERS:

    1) Alfa, Fabi Apache, Mini Chessman, Pirata Morgan b Aero Star, Estrellita, Octagoncito, Rey Cometa

They missed Gran Apache, it was clear Aero Star and Rey Cometa were trying to tear it down but they didn’t trust Morgan -although he had his moments, at least was trying… people bought the angle big time, before the match Alfa gave Fabi a bouquet and crowd (girls) were screaming “don’t take it”, and after the match Fabi said that he had won her over and she wanted a relationship, so the crowd started a Billy chant! Of course, Alfa unmasking got a huge pop… ONLY IN MEXICO!!

    2) Crazy Boy, Extreme Tiger, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera b Antifaz, Histeria, Mr. Niebla, Psicosis II

Not as bad as I would have feared, since it was mostly Viper’s on command and doing team attacks, and a brief Mexican Poweresque reaction, so it was OK… speaking of reactions, Perros’ music got nearly ZERO reaction… I guess most AAA guys don’t care to watch CMLL or maybe the sound was pretty bad, still, I don’t think no one really cared for Halloween.

    4) La Parka Jr., Laredo Kid, Latin Lover, Ricky Marvin b Abismo Negro, Kenzo Suzuki, Ron Killings, Sean Waltman

They went out to deliver a solid match, not that much brawling compared to the usual AAA main events, Marvin was more into giving Killings his shine than trying to steal the show, was kind of Americanized lucha so the crowd got lost at times… (I’ll upload this later, hopefully)

    6) Espiritu L Cibernetico, Chessman, Charly Manson, Zorro, Escoria, Cuervo, Ozz [dome cage, hair]

Not as good as the AAAMania dome, I think Mesisas injured took its toll and guys were maybe concerned about him rather than into the match, and we can be sure that Banderas was going to get involved here but they had to improvise, waaaaay to overbooked and they didn’t generate drama for the escapes like in AAAMania (MAYOR SPOILER: everyone escaped more or less at the same time)

I’m not sure if they decided to make Zorro turn fearing Banderas was out for a good deal of time, it didn’t make that much sense since he should have turned while on the cage, not afterwards.

  24. I’m thinking next Sunday they’ll do two Peña Memorials, one during the TV show with the missing matches from Verano and highlights of AAA history, and the show at Toreo.
