09/16: Mexico results, lineups

CMLL (SUN) 09/16 Arena Mexico [Doom @ el Martiente, alexrace23 @ box y lucha]
1) Pequeno Olimpico & Shockercito b Fire & Sombrita
2) Hiroka, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei b Dark Angel, Luna Magica, Sahori

4) Hijo del Lizmark, Olimpico, Toscano DQ Blue Panther, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas
5) Mascara Purpura b Emilio Charles Jr. [mask]
6) Atlantis & Mistico b Dr. Wagner Jr. & Ultimo Guerrero [pi]

Mistico beat Wagner and Ultimo by himself. OF COURSE HE DID.

Purpura beat Emilio, which anyone not reading way too much into this would’ve called. We’re supposed to be under the impression Mascara Purpura is every bit as Mexican as Stuka Jr. and Maximo.

Lizmark Jr. took of his own mask and got the tecnicos blamed on it.

CMLL.com has the dates on these swapped, but I’m under the belief that this is the correct order.

Accion was one of those half hour shows Galavision doesn’t bother to list correctly. It had seconds worth of CMLL clips as part of it’s top ten – just the finish to the main event – and no AAA highlights.

DeporTV, on the other hand, had an extra half hour. Highlights of just the 2nd and 3rd matches aired, . It just seemed like they were giving more time than usual to each match, which I attributed to the longer show, but instead they just didn’t air anything form the top two. You ended up with two minutes of highlights for each match, with a lot of uninterrupted sequences. Oddly enough, the teaser segments had clips of the main event, so I’m not sure what happened here.

2: Besides the usual dives, Shockercito put the reinera on Mini Violencia, which was quite a stretch.
3: Fabian el Gitano was highlighted in (and before) his match. An extended bit of Ohara doing wacky corner strikes and Metalico reversing to do his own. Neutron was barely shown, just to miss his move and get beat for the finish.

The lucha segment had a sponsor, which is surely a good sign.

  1. CMLL.com being wrong with the GDL shows was so obvious we didn’t even noticed!!

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Universo winning back his belt en route to the cage match… nah, that’s not fair, I would be surprised if that happens.

  2. Extended mini’s highlights! YEEES! They better not decide to skip this upload as well!

Next week’s weekend shows are gonna blow.
