09/06: Coliseo, NL, Monterrey, Torero Cuatro Caminos to be bulldozed?

CMLL.com

CMLL (TUE) 09/04 Arena Coliseo [cmll]
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II b Artillero & Super Comando
2) Fire, Pequeno Violencia, Pierrothito b Bam Bam, Bracito de Oro, Pequeno Olimpico
3) Leono, Metalico, Tigre Blanco b Arkangel, Dr. X, Loco Max
4) Eclipse, Okumura, Satanico DQ Felino, Mascara Purpura, Sombra
5) Averno, Lizmark Jr., Mephisto b Blue Panther, Negro Casas, Sagrado
Mr. 4:40 replaced Heavy Metal in the main event and accidentally got Sagrado with the silla in the final fall. Panther was killed by the rudos.

Rudos were well on their way to losing the semimain, so Satanico fouled Felino to end it.

I’m always amused about how the Lion and Tigers are still teaming up, despite Metalico no longer being a jungle animal. Since it’s not like they were about to push anyone, they totally went the wrong way on the name change – they should’ve turned him into Tigre Alumino or something.

AAA (MON) 09/03 Cancha de Futbol Rap, Nuevo Laredo [El Manana via RFC]
3) En Insolito, Hombre sin Miedo, Sangre Chicana b Mr. Niebla, Viper 2007, Zumbido

5) Alan Stone, Alebrije, Elegido vs Hator, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido

I’ll update later in the day if the full Anniversary lineup gets to the ‘net today; it surely will by tomorrow morning. Reforma (via Omar Valencia @ el Maritente) suggests the National Trios defense vs either a Guerrero or a Perro team.

Noti AAA Blog has the Verano de Escandalo lineup, which you’ve already seen. Down the right side of the page, they’ve also got quotes from some of the cage participants and a quick recap of the recent AAA Heavyweight Tournament matches. (Of note, they don’t mention Zorro vs Chessman as being a UWA title match. Maybe it looked different on TV?)

According to ESTO, the owners of El Toreo de Cuatro Caminos are talking about selling the building to a developer, who will tear it down and build a mall. That would not be good for AAA.

Periodico Digitial Puebla writes about a local free lucha libre school
where people as young as 12 are trained. The instructor says it’s kinda like learning self-defense. Anyway, a whole bunch of trainees will debut on 09/16.

One more article on the lucha libre anthology comic coming out in the US today. (Thanks odessa.)

  1. They did mention that the UWA title was on the line during the match, but they ran replays and I don’t reacall the title changing hands at all.

  2. Pretty weird that there are lots of Foristas from Madero and yesterday’s results have not popped up…

The thing about Toreo had been said before AAAMania, I wonder if the Mall gets done, it might include a venue for massive shows… who knows.

  3. So Alan Stone did turn babyface? Now correct me, but this is going to be weird with two guys (Alan Stone, Intocable) doing the same gimmick. Unless one drops theirs and my money says Intocable keeps his gimmick.

Match 4 looks like a good one with Vipers Vs the old GGuard of Lucha

  4. Viper 2007 or Viper Sorpresa works in AAA shows, so he should have permission to use that gimmick, he uses an outfit with motifs to other Vipers (even Antifaz)

    Just got this:

    1) Stuka Jr., Valiente y Metálico vs Euforia, Nosferatu y Loco Max

    2) Dark Angel, Marcela y Luna Mágica vs Princesa Sugei, Amapola e Hiroka

    3) Volador Jr., La Sombra y Último Dragón vs Misterioso Jr., Texano Jr. y Virus

    4) Dos Caras Jr., Alex Koslov y Sagrado vs Toscano, Sangre Azteca y Ephesto

    5) Marco Corleone, Negro Casas y Rey Bucanero vs Olímpico, Averno y Mephisto

    6) Místico-Hijo del Perro Aguayo-Villano V-Dr. Wagner-Último Guerrero-Hijo de Lizmark-Blue Panther-Atlantis (Cage, Hair, Masks)

  5. Meh. so…. random.

Nice opener and tercera outwith Loco and Dragon.
Dragon always seems to show his face whenever there’s a big show on, and walks straight into a spot on the card – i wish he wouldn’t.

Sucks that the women take up a spot. If they;re gonna go for the novelty matches, go with the minis everytime. But it’s not like there was ever going to be a hope of the women not being on it, so it’s totally expected.

Probably a bit stronger than i expected, and could be a lot worse i guess – but it’s far from anything to be excited about – pretty much par for the course with CMLL big shows…

  6. That was an awesomely innovative rope flip armdrag dive by Angel Azteca Jr. Small clips like that makes me want to see more of guys.

Stuka’s implant version of his old legsweep DDT was beautiful too! :)
