08/24-08/26 Lucha Times

AAAUS: the day after TripleMania…which is kinda more than same. So it goes. No overnight airing, and it looks like galavision.com’s listings are still busted. What can you do.

FSE (US): No repeat of last week’s episode. This week’s opener looks interesting. Main is Guerreros vs High Society, so not so much.

CAN52: Flying blind here, but I’m thinking the Emilio/Purpura stuff will end up on this network.

CMLLMEX: I’m predicting Caligula in the preview, so there’s now ZERO chance they’ll be on TV.

AAAMEX: The start of the AAA Heavyweight Tournament. How long you think Cibernetico/Niebla lasted? 4 minutes?

FSEMEX: Speaking of heavyweight title matches – DOS VS LIZMARK. Good to book a program where Lizmark Jr. loses five weeks before he’s supposed to headline the biggest show of the year. Sunday booker SO doesn’t talk to Friday booker.

taped 02/04, aired 02/11

Satanico’s so much more useful as a rudo, I have no idea what took so long to get him back there. Wasn’t much to say for him here.

While I’m unfairly looking in hindsight, CMLL probably would’ve been better off never signing Fabian and giving Alan Stone the gimmick and a push. He’s just doing the rudo version of it in AAA, and he’s so much better (though everyone’s at least somewhat better.)

I have no good justification for believing this, but I’m sure Loco Max has wrestled as Spider-Man on random DF spot shows. He’d be Spider-Man on these shows if they let him, even though it makes no sense for a supposed rudo guy to be dressing up like a superhero. I think it’s best we don’t try to figure out what Loco Max is thinking at any time.

Warrior vs Mistico is the same Warrior vs Mistico match they’ve done many many times. It seemed fresher because I hadn’t seen it for a while, but I think I can call the match in my sleep at this point. Only the finish changes, and it’s not as though they were even polishing the same sequences.

So, they’re running this show for sure, they just have no idea what building the show’s going to be in. This seems a bit worrisome. Also, Maximo & Sangre Azteca? Not a good night for Sangre.
