Notimex talked to Mistico after Friday’s tag title match, who’s saying the boos he’s getting lately in Arena Mexico don’t bother him and in fact, give him the energy to defeat Dr. Wagner. I read a companion interview with Dr. Wagner promising revenge, but I can’t find the link.

The clips from Tuesday Coliseo are up @ DeporTV America’s site.

Sombra de Plata dropping the gimmick because of La Sombra? Flecha dropping his hair as he continues his downward spiral into being just another obscure indy guy? I don’t know!

Magazines
* Super Luchas #222 has recaps of Mistico and Negro regaining the title, and Santo winning Cassandro’s hair in FCW.
* Super Luchas Grafico #24 is an TripleMania flip book. They’ve got more on the NOAH/AAA show in there.
* Box Y Lucha #2828 has Mistico ripping Wagner’s mask.

That should be Sombra Escarlata… yep, another one… or maybe Sombrero Escarlata? I doubt Sombra de Plata is losing in Toluca, so it should be a rough time for Flecha.

Alvin said that Trueno was billed as Trueno Jr, whatever… he said that match had too many botched moves. Wagner didn’t even hint betraying his team…

This is how they should have done the Rey Bucanero angle, at the time of the championship match, he and Ultimo should’ve just shake hands and team up again, and they should have turned Wagner rudo permanently (well, I’m almost giving for granted that all be back to normality once Perrillo returns, unfortunately is a bad kind of normality, although the last 2 weeks weren’t that great anyways)

  2. It just needs to be said:

Mistico has become the John Cena of EMLL in popularity.

  3. Sombra is winning for sure. Kinda sad for a nerd like me that loves undercarders. Sombra/Flecha were tag partners back when I first got into Lucha and were the first two undercarders I could only read about/see pictures of and hope to finally see them in action one day. Flecha actually was a tecnico for his entire career until he turned on Sombra De Plata in 2001 (or 2002) so you could technically say this will wrap up their 6 year feud.

  4. Mistico has become the John Cena of EMLL in popularity

Just what do you mean by that? Cena’s popularity seems to vary from week-to-week depending on what city they’re in, and who is oppenent is.

  5. Cena is pretty much over anywhere right now. But that’s not Lucha so I don’t want to go off topic.

Konnan Gay? What the hell? Please tell me he’s like HG?

  6. Basically, local promoter in Monterrey uses a guy named Konan Big as his top local. Other Konan’s are his counterparts who feud with him or team with him.

In short, promoter Carlos Elizondo is an idiot.

  7. I disagree. I just read a ’94 WON where a show with every match in a cage (including pointless undercard women) except for the main event (a stip match where the ref got his head shaved instead of a mask or title loss as promised) outdrew an AAA show a few days later which had a mask vs hair match and a trios titles match.

Elizondo caters to a weird audience…

  8. The Konnan Big vs Poncho deNigris also outdrew the Konnan Big/Latin Lover vs Hijo del Perro/Hector Garza, which was extra weird considering Garza/Lover are supposed to be the most over guys in Mty.

Although I think Elizondo ran both shows, so maybe he was lucky that time (or unlucky, depending on your pov).
