07/21: New (Old) Tag Champs, Mexico Lineup

ESTO

CMLL (FRI) 07/20 Arena Mexico [ESTO, ovaciones]
1) Molotov & Sensei b Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) India Sioux, Luna Magica, Marcela b La Nazi, Medussa, Rosa Negra
3) Felino, Mascara Purpura, Máximo b Misterioso II, Satánico, Virus
4) La Máscara, La Sombra, Marco Corelone b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Volador Jr. b Damián 666, Héctor Garza, Terrible
6) Místico & Negro Casas b Dr. Wagner Jr. & Último Guerrero [CMLL TAG]

We have new tag team champions, again. In the final fall, Wagner accidentally kicked Ultimo, leading to his pinfall, and Mistico yanked Wagner’s mask and pulled him into a small package to win it. Ultimo’s ticked at Wagner for costing them the match, so that teamup is done. Mistico and Wagner challenged each other after the match.

Few notes on the rest of the show. All I’ve got is the tecnicos won the semimain in straight falls. CMLL.com says Panther is still angry.

CMLL (TUE) 07/24 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II vs Polvora & Zayco
2) Flash & Metalico vs Arkangel & Dr. X
3) Lady Apache, Marcela, Sahori vs Amapola, Hiroka, Medusa
4) La Mascara, Neutron, Sombra vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico
5) Bam Bam vs Mini Damian 666 [hair]
6) Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Jr., Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero

They didn’t waste any time.

CMLL (FRI) 07/27 Arena Mexico
1) Astro Boy & Sombra de Plata vs Caligula & Messala
2) Leono, Stuka Jr., Super Nova vs Hirooki Goto, Misterioso II, Okumura
3) Mascara Purpura, Sombra, Valiente vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
4) Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Sagrado vs Damian 666, Texano Jr., Villano V
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone vs Hector Garza, Mr. Aguila, Terrible
6) Mistico vs Dr. Wagner Jr.

This would seem like the build to a mask/mask match, but with Wagner and Mistico? I dunno.

CMLL GdR #86 has
07/13 Mexico: Pequeño Damian 666 b Bam Bam, Pequeño Olímpico, Bracito de Oro, Fantasy, Electrico, Pequeño Halloween, Mr. Aguilita, Fire [ciber]

07/15 Coliseo: Ephesto, Loco Max, Shigeo Okumura b Felino, Mascara Purpura, Máximo

  1. This is amateur hour… everyone has been in the wrong place all match long. They just had a 1 minute segment where everyone stood still waiting to see what to do.

  2. The world champion just did a tope onto his head b/c the part-time wrestler/full-time actor couldn’t remember to catch him and then Volador Jr. did a springboard… realized nobody was there to catch him and just jumped down onto his feet.

How can even the most hardcore CMLL fans defend how awful this match was?

  3. There’s a thread in ByL bashing Fuerza Aerea “blowing every dive”, where I pointed that Dos Caras Jr is even worse, yes, this was awful…

  4. This whole show has been boring for the most part. The tag main event better be something cause I’m about to fall asleep.

  5. Yep, it’s too early to fall sleep with Saturday night just coming up… I think IWRG should be starting now…

  6. If cubs had the mini’s Torneo online, I’d be watching that for the third time by now and having way more fun.:(

I do need that We Will Rock You remix CMLL is using now…

  7. Not that I know of… It’s a cable subscription channel, so I doubt they would make it available.

  8. That match was MAL, MAL, MAL (evil rudo laugh).

Wagner should get a new saying…

“EN MI CASA… I will do anything except wrestle to pass time.”

    Bring on the mini’s Torneo!

  9. Eh…Sure Rob…

    ______

Does anybody know where can I get the logos from the luchadores names they use on Gala entrances?

  10. Main event was the perfect match to round up a horrible show. Instead of wondering if it was Silver King impersonating Wagner, it looked as if they used someone else instead of Mistico since he was worse than usual… Negro seemed to be in la la land and only good portion was when Ultimo started punishing Mistico slowing down the match.

  11. Miguel, what was good about the match? I tend not to enjoy any match where I can tell you every move that is coming before it happens. Those guys could have done that match with their eyes closed. Hell, Negro Casas tried!

  12. Tried to stink the match even more? He was falling even before the moves were done!! I think Wagner and Ultimo actually looked at each other thinking they had developed telekinetic powers or something.

  13. Vaqueros Laguna is down 5-0 on the top of the 6th… I guess there won’t be no LLaves y Candados today…

  14. I am about to watch LLaves because I get the national feed on JUMP.tv. But Multimedios should do a better job of showing a replay when preempted by baseball.

There are those who say this is the worst Lucha show on TV.

  15. Sadly for llaves, it won’t be that easy, AULL put some very bad shows just before leaving, and IWRG is not that far from it at all…

  16. Well, as I write, Llaves is transmitting without commentary again. And Charly Manson, Pirata, Gronda, and Chuky are on. There is no excuse for not running commentary. None.

  17. Now do you people beileve me that Wagner will lose his mask by the end of the year? That and Perro will lose his hair.

  18. Mistico is the one losing his mask, he’s the one with the dyed hair, and that’s the golden rule in lucha stips.

  19. Mexico not advancing on the U20 affected Lucha, have they played today, it would have been on Channel 2, leaving Gala for a normal broadcast… this is looking as an Overtime game, so I wonder if they will have a highlights show instead of T’mania…

  20. i think they gonna put AAAmania right after but the will air it in two parts, one today and other one next week.

  21. There was a 2 hour shows a few weeks back and they never aired the rest of the matches. I don’t know about AAAMania…

  22. I think now they’ll just air 3 matches, Relevos AAA, Juvie vs Fuerza & Animal’s debut (arghhh)

  23. Gonna be two parts it seems. Today is Juventud vs Fuerza and the atomicos match w/ Parka, Lover, Sabu, THE ANIMAL, etc.

Next week should have the rest of the matches.

I wouldn’t care at all if this means they aren’t going to show the Leon taping from the next night. Didn’t look too hot on paper nor from the reports I read.

The new AAA intro video is AWESOME! Looks like the Foreign Legion, Fuerza Aerea and Guapos aren’t going anywhere any time soon since they are all over the video.

  24. LMAO Was Triplemania 2000 so bad that they are pretending it didn’t exist and showing Japan clips instead?:P

  25. I liked the intro they used at last year’s Verano de Escandalo… damn, this is shaping as the worst lucha weekend of the year…

  26. They can’t skip Leon since there’s where La Parka got tombstoned and out of action.

  27. They could always just show highlights.

Isn’t it funny that yesterday I was complaining about CMLL and commercials and now we’re 35 minutes into AAA with the intros just starting for the first match.

Next week looks like a can’t miss week with the Relevos AAA, Tag Titles, Relevos Suicidas, Guapos and Cage Match.

  28. I think Relevos AAA won’t make it, not sure about tag titles… Apparently, they had 2 hours of commercials and had to cram them up in 80 minutes.

If there was a match they could go by without airing, it was this, to avoid the Animal embarrassment.

  29. Wow…that was so bad that it made yesterday’s tag title match look like a MOTYC. Except for the Gala US AAA showing, this has been a very bad weekend for lucha.

  30. This could do more harm to AAA than what they think, they have a taping at a huge venue this Friday, before another TV show, and todays no-Show didn’t push anything for that taping, no HB, young flyers, Guapos, nothing, I think the cage if it is the dome might be a selling point, but they didn’t air that.
