TripleMania discussion

box y lucha

I’m busy at the moment, but if you want a thread to discuss it, here you go.

I’ll update this with results when I get a chance (if they come in)

Update:

So far, we’ve got from ByL

1) Cinthia Moreno, Octagoncito, Oriental, Pimpinela Escarlata b Alfa, Casandro, Fabi Apache, Mini Abismo Negro
2) Cuervo & Ozz DRAW Crazy Boy & Joe Lider [AAA TAG]

Lider and Ozz tied, I think. This feud will go on.

3) Gran Apache & Laredo Kid b Super Fly & Super Calo [losers advance, pi]
4) Super Fly b Super Calo [mask]

This is actually a change from what was earlier announced as possible, that’s why we assumed Laredo won Calo’s mask instead. Will have to confirm later in the evening.

5) Fuerza Guerrera b Juventud Guerrera [street]
6) Alberije, El Elegido, Super Porky DQ Alan Stone, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido

run-in by the unmasked Super Calo, now wrestling as Jordy Stone.

7) Head Hunter I, Rikishi, Ron Killings, Sabu b La Parka Jr., Latin Lover, the Animal, Zorro

Rudo surprise is Rikishi.

Tecnico surprise is “The Animal”. Not sure if it’s the Road Warrior, but it’s an unmasked guy. I have no idea. I hope they’re pulling my leg.

Rikishi wins with the Bonzai Drop on Zorro.

Lita & Luchagores performed here.

8) Kenzo Suzuki L Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico, Mesias, X-Pac [cage, hair]

Kenzo lost his hair, but the story was Chessman taking another cage bump, this one to the floor. He might have missed his target, and he definitely was carried to the back and put in ambulance. Can’t tell if this is an angle or not.

I’ll bump this to the top if full results come in tonight.

  1. Sadly I called the Chessman to the floor bump earlier today. I just hope he didn’t try the moonsault I predicted b/c his in-ring moonsault was dangerous enough.

  2. In the ‘everyone makes mistakes’ department – the Triplemania report on WON.com by DR. LUCHA (who rules) says Fuerza is 43 and Juventud is 32. Fuerza was a STUD!

Also – “El Cuije, age 52, 37 years since debut, real name unknown, ring name is after one particular sort of sculptures described immediately above (a kid’s toy).”

God I hope that’s not right. I can’t support the rudos destroying a 52 year old midget. I so wanted it to be a 12 year old kid.

  3. Rudos are not to blame, if a 52 year old midget gets in the ring, THAT’S dumb on the mini tecnico’s part… I wonder if Alushe/Kemonito is older…

  4. I thought 52 was rumored to Alushe/Kemonito’s age.

Looking at Sims report, the Revelos AAA & Guapos VIP matches went 3 falls. I could see the Revelos match getting 3 falls to warm up the crowd, but not the Guapos one. Is that accurate?

  5. I think the opener was only one fall. Not sure on the Guapos match but AAA hasn’t done 3 falls in ages so that could be a mistake as well. He may have also switched up Alushe/Cuije by accident.

In other news, Mexico got eliminated from the U-20 tournament so no worries of that pre-empting any Lucha Libre.

  6. Speaking of Minis, who is la Sombrita? I think he’s Sombrita de Plata, there was a Sombrita de Plata, right?

U20 games were broadcasted on Canal 2, so it didn’t affect lucha libre at all.

  7. Well, facially, he looks like Ciber-Mesias type (or The Rock at time), but he doesn’t looks to be having the same buffed up look.

I made a mistake posting the Sombrita thing here… hehehe… second 100 post thread in a row!!!! Nah…

I wonder if Sombrillante Jr will change his mask outfit to Sombrita’s to have the first Grownup takes the gimmick from a mini deal. Well, if one can consider Brillante a grownup.

  8. Well we all knew someone was going to the hospital with a major injury at Mania.

As for the surprise, I thought Electro Shock was possible only because I figured the surprise would be both a disappointment and some ex-AAA wrestler.

So is “The Animal” worse than Electro Shock as a surprise?

Let’s hope for the best for Chessman.

  9. Aransay is an expert on television. I believe he works for 52MX or their parent company. One time, someone posted “Televisa to buy TV Azteca” knowing Aransay would immediately click the topic, and it said, “Chupame Aransay”, and called him an idiot for posting the way he does.

  10. Copetes Salazar just announced Sunday’s Arena Coliseo MTY card on 690AM Monterrey.

    Cibernetico/Zorro vs. X-Pac/Ron Killings w.Alicia Webb

    Octagon/Tinieblas Jr./Pirata Morgan vs Antifaz/Hator/Monje Negro

Billy Boy, Estrellita, Faby Apache, minis, and more will also be on the card.

Gran Hamada flew to Japan this morning, but said he’ll be back in Mexico in September.

  11. Just to round up, or at least to try… Lita and Luchagors were to perform before the cage match but they had too much trouble setting the act up and ended performing after the cage match, so I guess no one was there to watch it but the most hardcore WWE fans.

One guy said that Charly Manson ran in to assist Chessman with a horror expresion after his bump, but that then he was calm, so unless he went into shock, I’m assuming it was a work.

  12. Roberto and Copetes said that Chessman had to be rushed to the hopital. That’s it.

  13. The Sims report may have been pulled b/c it wasn’t meant to be put on the website, just for Dave’s personal use.

  14. You know with all the Chessman stuff I never got to mention something…

I’m very happy Super Fly got to take Super Calo’s mask. Super Fly has been one of the most constant performers in AAA since he first showed up regularly in early 2006 and is always a treat to watch. I’m glad he is being elevated a bit instead of just being a random Fuerza Aerea guy. And he’s only 20 years old… if he stays healthy… *ahem*… *IF* he stays healthy, he could be a big star.

    Congrats Super Fly!

  15. Could that be some sort of homage to Peña? Kind of, “remember when Toño got upset and changed the result of that Calo and Winners match? Why don’t we change the mask match to Super Fly and Super Calo?

OTOH, this will keep the Apache/Laredo Kid feud going.

  16. I’d like to see more mixing of the Fuerza Aerea guys and top guys. Toss in Laredo or Super Fly or both into a six/eight man tag with the tecnicos against the Legion. X-Pac and Killings can catch decently or the Head Hunter can just stand there and let them land on him.

  17. I doubt they’ll put FuerzAAA with Legion right away, although, considering the fact that they can not make anyone noteworthy to jump aboard, they need to place their own stars on top or near top… FAST!!

But we all know what that means… Xtreme Tiger and Crazzy Boy…

  18. I wonder if they improvised by having Super Fly take Calo’s mask? It seems like the teams were Laredo/Calo vs Super Fly/Apache but somehow it ended up Calo vs Super Fly. Meanwhile everyone is saying Laredo Kid got hurt when he went for his second tornillo dive of the match and Calo blew the catch causing the doctor to finally step in and take Laredo to the back since he was really hurt. Maybe at that point they changed things up and had Super Fly vs Calo?

  19. I had thought of the same thing, that teams had changed along the way, but Skap_fett says those were the teams from the start and that the injury was nothing serious (or someone else said).

Last week on Ovaciones, they printed that the teams were Apache/SFly vs LKid/SCalo, but they were using a sensationalism note, so I wonder if they screw up and what they had to announce was the change in the teams.

  20. The Super Calo/Chris Stone rumors ends…

… and the Super Calo that unmasked isn’t the original Super Calo rumor begins!

I love the Box y Lucha forum.

  21. How come a “Bombero Infernal has become yet another IWRG Clone” or a “The Mascara Magica who lost his mask to Satanico is the original one?” thread have never been posted there?

Hehehe… OK, this is kind of off topic…
