what aired on FSE today

Hopefully this saves Victor some deja vu. I know I was confused till I figured it out.

FSE’s show descriptions for this show, for whatever reason, are always one week behind. The description we get for any show is actually the description for the prior show. This should be an easy mistake to fix, but it’s obvious FSE could care less.

The description we got for this show was “Dos Caras Jr. vs Universo 2000”. As the opening goes thru, I notice no Dos Caras and no Universo. But the matches seem vaguely familiar. This is where having an index comes in handy!

What aired:
FSE #40, originally aired in US on 05/13/07
05/04 Coliseo: Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico vs Felino, Mictlan, Tony Rivera
05/04 Coliseo: Mephisto, Misterioso II, Virus vs Alex Koslov, Neutron, Ultimo Dragon

Naturally, Dos and Universo met the taping prior, in the opening trios match – that’s was the one with Averno as tecnico. That’s also the other thing clue about the description I blanked about – it’s always for the opener. I dunno.

FSE has an e-mail address – foxsportsla@foxsportsintl.com. I don’t know if it’s read, I don’t know if it’s read by anyone who matters, but if you feel like politley asking why they’re airing repeat episodes (and, in some cases, repeatedly the same repeat episodes) instead of the newer lucha they have on hand, go ahead and send them a note.

There may be one more post tonight

07/07 (2): DF Lineups

As per new standard operating procedure, only Tuesday and Friday ones. Bihari, you may want to be seated for the Arena Mexico lineup. Actually, everyone should, there’s a pretty fun surprise.

CMLL (TUE) 07/10 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II vs Caligula & Vaquero
2) Bam Bam, Bracito de Oro, Celestial vs Mr. Aguilita, Pequeno Damian, Pequeno Halloween
3) Fabian el Gitano, Flash, Tony Rivera vs Arkangel, Hooligan, Nitro
4) La Mascara, Maximo, Volador Jr. vs Satanico, Texano Jr., Virus
5) Heavy Metal, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Universo 2000

I think that’s as high as Flash has been, but it’s Tuesday. Is Sangre Azteca’s story inspiring because, after all this time, he’s finally up in the main events or is depressing for it to take all this time for him to finally be up in the main events?

CMLL (FRI) 07/13 Arena Mexico
1) Sombra de Plata & Stuka Jr. vs Artillero & Polvora
2) Bam Bam vs Pequeno Olimpico, Bracito de Oro, Fantasy, Electrico, Pequeno Halloween, Pequeno Damian 666, Mr. Aguilita, Fire [ciber]
3) Alex Koslov, La Mascara, Mascara Purpura vs Damian 666, Euforia, Texano Jr.
4) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Sombra vs Atlantis, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
5) Mistico & Negro Casas vs Dr. Wagner Jr. & Ultimo Guerrero [CMLL TAG]

Who’s missing? No Ultimo Dragoncito, Tzuki, Pierrothito and Pequeno Violencia – that’s gotta be a tag match at a spot show somewhere. Mini cibernetico’s gotta make air.

No apparent follow up on the Panther vs Perros stuff. News page teases Villano V vs Blue Panther in a mask match. Eh, no.

With Atlantis in the building for the main event tag, perhaps we’ll know how he feels about Ultimo hooking up with his archrival and offering him membership in the Guerreros. I wonder how Bucanero feels about this! (I bet he doesn’t know yet.)

07/07: Mexico, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 07/06 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Galeno Del Mal de box y lucha, Alvin @ el Martinete]
1) Astro Boy & Sombra de Plata b Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Nitro, Nosferatu, Virus b Flash, Mictlan, Valiente
3) Katsuhiko Nakajima, Kensuske Sasaki, Ultimo Dragon b Arkangel, Dr. X, Texano Jr.
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Alex Koslov, Felino, Stuka Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Heavy Metal, Sagrado b Terrible, Villano III, Villano V
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., Euforia, Ultimo Guerrero b Mistico, Negro Casas, Sombra

Wagner back on the rudo side, though still posing like a tecnico. Mistico almost got La Mistica on him, but UG broke it up, and Wagner landed a Wagner Drive for the clean victory. After the match, Mistico was strecher-ed out. Guerrero welcomed Wagner “to the side you never should’ve left”, and invited him to team up for a tag title match versus Negro & Mistico next week. Wagner agreed to the idea.

Panther’s team won it’s match in two falls. Rudos yanked off his mask in the first, so he was forced to compete in a Sagrado replica for the second, but still managed to catch Terrible in a fujiwara armbar.

Dragon/Sasaki/Nakajima was a unannounced addition to the show. Can’t think of the last time that happened, but that means there surely is a Toryumon Mexico show going on some place, somewhere on Sunday. This was said to be good, though no one had any idea who the non-Dragon Japanese were – that’s the lack of adversiting.

Valiente did replace Super Nova, so trust ESTO over CMLL’s own site. Virus fouled him and pinned him for the win.

No results from the AAA Puebla taping yet, but Sabu made an appearance. Rikishi and his (cousin?) Black Pearl are supposed to be involved at TripleMania. Hopefully just run-ins. It’s not like I can hope for no run ins.

CMLL now has a traveling museum/bus. It’s filled with masks, trophies, newspaper clippings, etc. If this is to be believed, Pierroth was driving the bus on this day.

CMLL hasn’t put up lineups yet.

GdR #85 has
07/01 Coliseo: Bam Bam, Fantasy, Shockercito b Mr. Aguilita, Pequeno Damian, Pequeno Halloween
07/01 Coliseo: Alex Koslov, Heavy Metal, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
Outside the ring: Terrible
