06/01 Arena Mexico lineup changed

CMLL.com is reporting Mistico’s recovered fully from being carried out of the building on Sunday (riiiiiiight) and has demanded to face Lizmark Jr right away. So….

CMLL (FRI) 06/01 Arena Mexico
1) Neutron, Stuka Jr., Tiger Metalico vs Arkangel, Loco Max, Nitro
2) Flash, Sombra de Plata, Super Nova vs Goto, Ohara, Okumura
3) Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V vs Atlantis, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone, Mistico vs Damian 666, Hijo de Lizmark, Terrible
5) Mr. Aguila vs Sagrado [LdP, sf]

A lot more changes than just adding Mistico – they changed the tecnico sides in two matches.

OUT: Rey Bucanero, Blue Panther, Halloween, Valiente, Mascara Purpura, Leono
IN: Mistico, Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone, Flash, Sombra de Plata, Tigre Metalico
CHANGED: Lizmark Jr. moved over to the rudos, Villanos match bumped to tercera, Super Nova gets moved up to the TV slot

I’m sure I have that wrong and Sombra de Plata is not actualy making TV. CMLL lists it as just “Sombra”, and it’s would actually seem more likely to be someone new (or otherwise out of mind) than Sombra de Plata getting that slot. They also list “Metalico” in the opener, and I thought that was a typo, but now I’m not too sure.

Mistico’s booked for 5 other matches in the next week (including a double shot on Thursday), and I think he’s gutting thru them because they can’t adequately replace him. Hopefully, he doesn’t do any more damage. Gotta figure he’s at least working thru next Friday to lose the Leyenda de Plata to Aguila (if Sagrado wins, that means Mistico is done on this Friday.) You’d hope he wouldn’t be needed for anything past that if he is as hurt as it seems.

I hope Mistico has or will take CMLL to the cleaners on his next contract. I know they ‘made’ him, but if they weren’t seriously indebted to him at this point, he’d be at home recovering from surgery already.

  2. I’m coming back from tonight’s event in Solidaridad, Monterrey. The show was really good, nice surprises from IWGR. The fifht match (they put one “for free” out of the schedule) was tremendous with Parka going insane and fighting against Rayo de Jalisco Jr. The crowd didn’t like this…

Mistico’s match… terrible; I really expected more from him. I appears that the crowd was crazy, and kids were all over the place. During the match, Mistico never stoped posing for pictures with them… And the match lasted very little. He lost his mask again against Mr Aguila and Damian 666, as well as the match. He only did one or two of his signature moves (not the “mistica”)…. He seems to be more a rockstar rather than the wrestler I expected to see.

    See u!

  3. Thanks for the update. Always nice to get recent reports from Monterrey.

  4. Thanks for the comment about the Solidaridad show, Miguel. I’d guess Mistico didn’t do much because of his injury – but if he’s not going to do more than pose for pictures, he probably should be doing just that and CMLL should be sending a replacement guy to work the match.

  5. Last night I attended at the Solidaridad Arena in Monterrey. The show was pretty good, specially on the preliminary battle where the fans got the opportunity to watch La Parka going completely nutso! agains his maits (Rayo de Jalisco Jr & Mascaara Sagrada); we really got to see a set of great moves from this warriors and their contenders Mascara Año 2000, 100 Caras and El Fantasma. I got to admit that Mistico was the real reason I went to the fight but the disaponitment on his performance felt all over the arena; the crowd didnt helped much, they embraced him like a movie star not a warrior! Taking pictures and posing in the middle of the fight just to give some of your spirit to the people was not the approach of such legends like El Santo, Blue Demon or El Huracan Ramirez… Mistico is a bombsheld but real legends are the ones that stands as a true icon over the time…

  6. Arc & Miguel, I totally agree with u guys! I also attended last night’s event in Solidaridad and felt kind of dissapointed because of Mistico primarily but also because of the IWRG… They need take care of security to avoid the crowd do what they did and affect the performance of the Warriors…

Perhaps Arc, I would doubt if Mistico deserves to be compared with THE LEGENDS…

  7. Last night at Solidaridad Arena things got out of control with the crowd, its a shame that the IWRG didnt prevent on putting enough security staff so the people would be in order… letting kids and people to stand in the ring while the gladiators are being presented is wrong… this affected the last match, not allowing Mistico to show his great moves!! The Gold and Silver legend Rules!!

  8. Well i’m happy enough with those changes. Valiente looks like he’s going to be a regular now anyway so one week missing isn’t going to hurt – especially as he’s working Sunday Coliseo.

Shame that it wasn’t Jimmy Neutron who got moved up, but you can’t argue with Flash and Super Nova on TV.
Oh, and please be Sombra De Plata and not some new guy! This should really be a good match if given 14-15 minutes because the Japanese trio proved that they weren’t anytihng like as bad as we expected in their last televised match (V Valiente, Felino and someone, maybe La mascara) – the old ” the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” phrase looks to be valid here.

Villanos in the dead spot is great too. That said, if they’re in for the month it will be pretty annoying if they take up a precious tecnico team if the big June show makes PPV. We can only hope for a quick tag mask match – maybe V Ultimo/Atlantis or something, but that’s probably asking too much.

  9. Just in case everyone else doesn’t realize it yet:

Miguel, Arc, “???”, and Daniela are all the same person pretending to be four people. Knock it off.

    “””””””””””””””””””””””””””

I was suspicious about it… multiple personality disorder? Hehe

  11. To all the bloggers,

This is just a note to clarify Arc, “???”, Daniela and myself are not the same person trying to disrupt the peace of this site. But yes, we do have things in common: we are all coworkers and share computers. We do live in Monterrey and attended last night’s event in Solidaridad together too.

    Hope this explains the situation.

    Kind Regards,
    Miguel

  12. So is Daniela also Daniel who fights with me about Lover? I figured anyone who would like Lover so much had to be a female.
