05/21: Mistico in SLP, Sangre title defense

Coliseo and AAA results haven’t turned up yet.

CMLL (THU) 05/31 Palenque de la Feria de Gomez Palacio [La Afficon]
1) Pequeno Star vs Scriba Jr.
2) Centella Azul Jr. & Piloto Suicida vs Baby Olmos & Piloto Negro
3) Hijo de Sobearno, Mr. Guerrero, Tackle vs Arkangel, Dr. X, Loco Max
4) Olimpico & Ultimo Guerrero vs Mistico & Shocker

I presume this is the show Chui was referring to previously, wondering what promotions who had paid for Mistico would end up getting if he was hurt. Looks like they’re treating him like he’ll be all fine until news changes. I think you have to be worried about both tecnicos in that main event…

CMLL (FRI) 05/18 Oaxaca [Noticias-Oaxaca]
1) Stuka Jr. & Tigre Metalico b Loco Max & Rey Lobo
2) Lady Apache & Marcela b Amapola & Hiroka
3) Endevaor, Fantasma Jr., Sagrado b Dr. X, Nitro, Texano Jr.
4) Sangre Azteca b Vuleo Espacial [MEX WELTER]
5) Dr. Wagner & Marco Corelone b Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero
Marco replaced Shocker.

(El Paso Times) Mistico will be signing autographs in El Paso on Saturday at a soccer game, as the Patriots play Brilla FC. All kids wearing a luchador mask get in for free, and it’s dollar beer night, so they’re going to be packing the house. More info at elpaso-patriots.com. I don’t see a picture of Mistico anywhere, though, and this is around Incognito’s homebase. Hmmmmm.(More of a concern is USL’s site listing the team being in Austin on Saturday. I dunno.)

Latin Lover may be out of the TV program he’s on. Sounds like he had some sort of disagreement with the producers and he’s already preparing to move on – he references projects he has planned back in lucha libre.

(El Sol de San Luis Potosi) The dean of Social Science Anthropology at Universidad Autonoma de SLP stated lucha libre is enduringly popular in Mexico because it reflects the struggles of real life. This was part of a paper on lucha libre and popular culture, which also discussed the influence of Mexican lucha libre in other places of the world – a statue of Santo in a Lebanon movie theater, for example.
