It will be a one on one tournament – Ovaciones kinda tries to explain this, but you can assume by no one saying “ciberneticoâ€, and what’s going on next week. No main event gives them more time, but if you break that up by match, that’s just an extra minute or two. I don’t think it’ll be broken up by match, though – maybe one long final after 14 short matches.
You’d think they’d push some tecnico really hard, with no Mistico around at the moment and no Perro needing a win. I’d guess Bucanero, Shocker, Ultimo Guerrero, Wagner, Liger and maybe Suzuki have a shot, though the Triple Crown champion has gotten absolutely zero hype to the point where I’d mistakenly think this is Minoru Tanaka again and perhaps some people do think that. Too bad Hajime Ohara isn’t here instead of Okumura, because we’d have like every top Japan wrestling promotion but NOAH in one match and like five people in Mexico would care. (I guess Dragon counts? Dragon counts as his own personal universe.)
Lots of talk about Liger and Wagner doing a NJPW Juniors re-enactment society for the final. I’m rooting for Ultimo, as always – maybe they’ll force another big Rey/Ultimo match on the fans since people won’t show if they knew it was coming. (I’d be happy.) Something should start ticking towards a hyped match for June here.
CMLL announced lineups for Leyenda de Plata today, and it’ll start next week. They must’ve had these in the plans previously, and didn’t want to do cibernetico tournaments back to back. (Dunno why they wouldn’t just wait to do these a little alter in the year, but maybe we’ll figure that out later.)

Mistico’s injury is not addressed in this announcement, so I wouldn’t take it as proof that he’s going to be fine, but they’re planning with him in the picture. I’ll wait to preview this later, but there’s some surprising names in there. No Ultimo?
i think that liger will win the gran prix.
LDP will be intserting, i hope koslov or mephisto will win but i think that perro will win.

Mistico will face himself and still draw a sellout crowd! But seriously… that is quite confusing. I heard no Mistico till at least June so maybe they are false advertising him to quiet down the rumors that he could be out longer?
Valiente being included is AMAZING. Remember a certain someone was calling him a future star back in 2004 already… *cough*

5/18: Volador vs Stuka Jr. final – Volador Jr. wins.
5/25: Mistico vs Averno final – Mistico wins the usual way just for Cubs!
6/1: Mistico vs Volador Jr. – … DOUBLE PIN DRAW! … Then in the 4th fall Mistico uses La Mistica to win.
I CAN ACTUALLY SEE:
5/18: Perro Jr. vs Negro Casas – Perrito of course.
5/25: Mistico vs Averno – See above.
6/1: Perro Jr. vs Mistico – Mistico gets screwed out of the win somehow? I guess it depends on if this is the final week of Perrito’s reality show. If it isn’t and the show is already done… Mistico wins again.
My main question though is why is the Leyenda De Plata now instead of later in the year? The Gran Alternativa is coming up as well which will make it 3 tournaments in the span of a month. Overkill.
Robert was right. When esmas.com said Mistico would be out for six to eight, Robert said “Probably…June”.
X-PAC is working a ton of AAA shows this weekend. He’s doing TV in Tlaxcala on Saturday, Monterrey(with no commentary on TV) on Sunday, and a bunch more. AAA seems to be gaining tons of steam these days. And their in-ring is better than one year ago.
