05/05: Mexico, lineups, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 05/04 Arena Mexico [Super Luchas, ovaciones, ESTO
1) Astro Boy & Stuka Jr. b Artillero & Super Comando
2) Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico b La Mascara, Mictlan, Virus
3) Heavy Metal, Sagrado, Ultimo Dragon b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
4) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero b Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Ultimo Guerrero
5) Marcela b Princesa Sujei [MEX WOMEN]
6) Hector Garza, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila b Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Volador Jr.

Women’s match was longest of the night; Ocampo says it was the best. Wagner and Perro made challenges after their match. Virus turned on his teammates in the segunda – why was he even on the tecnico side?

Mistico did show up on the card to explain his injury, but he got booed – for not wrestling or because there were a lot of Perro fans. Perro Sr. was at the show, to help campaign to keep Perro Jr. on his reality show.

CMLL (TUE) 05/08 Arena Coliseo
1) Electrico & Fantasy vs Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween
2) Sensei, Starman, Trueno vs Arkangel, Jeque, Nitro
3) Ogun, Stuka Jr., Tony Rivera vs Loco Max, Misterioso II, Ohara
4) Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila vs Metro II, Mictlan, Sagrado
5) Atlantis, Jushin Liger, Ultimo Guerrero vs Dos Caras Jr., Hijo de Lizmark, Ultimo Dragon

This includes the injury changes for Leono (Ogun) and Maxmio (Metro II). Flash was subbed out for Treuno as well.

CMLL (FRI) 05/11 Arena Mexico
1) Brillante, Leono, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
2) Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
3) Atlantis, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Lizmark Jr., Olimpico, Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Ultimo Guerrero vs Alex Koslov, Goto, Jushin Liger, Marco Corelone, Minoru, Okumura, Pierroth, Ultimo Dragon [Gran Prix]

They usually run four matches on cibernetico weeks, but with no Mistico, there’s not an obvious missing feud. No Perros, but the guys who’d face him are booked elsewhere. Maybe a women’s match.

CMLL (SUN) 05/13 Arena Coliseo
1) Sensei & Trueno vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Brillante, Leono, Tigre Metalico vs Loco Max, Mr. Mexico, Nitro
3) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela vs Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
4) Felino, Heavy Metal, Sagrado vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso II
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Averno, Black Warrior, Ultimo Guerrero

Guess Liger is just working Tuesday to Saturday.

GdR #76 has
04/29 Mexico: Alex Koslov, Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone b Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero
04/29 Mexico: Mistico b Black Warrior [NWA MIDDLE]

  1. They could leave that Arena Mexico show alone if the Gran Prix ends up being a tournament with 15 matches. I suspect this year’s might be just that.:/ Wagner’s gotta have his singles match against Liger you know…

Cards aren’t terribly exciting but I expected that with the foreigners in for most of the week and Mistico out of action. Hard to even get excited about the Sunday segunda since lately the TV has been Arena Mexico stuff only.

Guerreros Del Ring looks alright. I’m hoping Mistico/Warrior go all out for the title change. I really enjoyed their 2/11 Coliseo match so hopefully it’s just like that expect in front of a hotter crowd.

So with a 2 hour CMLL show, I assume we can expect the top 4 from Arena Mexico? FSE would be the only question mark now as they can either show the trios titles and Averno tecnico match or the trios titles and mini’s/Arena Mexico opener from the week before.

  2. MINI’S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Will this be Shockercitos full Tv debut?

Hope his injury was late in the 3rd caida….

  4. Nah, he had a match from the 10/1/04 Arena Mexico show that made TV. It was basically the Mascarita Sagrada show though as only his spots aired.

Thus far this show has felt like a Perro Aguayo Jr. infomercial. But they can do that for the next hour for all I care as long as we get that mini’s match!

  5. BTW, 2 mini’s match within the span of a month compared to 2 mini’s matches in the span of 2 years before that.:)

  6. I’m beginning to get excited about the minis actually. yesterday I went back and watched that pequeno Familia V Olimpico/Dragoncito match from last year after seeing your highlight video, and it really was awesome beyond words

In a weird way i think i try to forget about matches like that, because rather than just enjoying it for what it is (like we should), you can’t help but wonder just how much amazing undercard/minis opener action we’re still misssing out on pretty much every week – after all, that was just your bog standard Arena mex opener. probably no better or worse than average :(

  7. So it’s looking like:

04/29: Mini Olimpico, Shockercito, Tsuki b Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween, Mini Mr. Aguila
05/04: Marcela vs Princesa Sujei [MEX WOMEN]
05/04: Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero vs Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Ultimo Guerrero
05/04: Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Volador Jr. vs Hector Garza, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila

    One too many?

  8. One too many I think. The women and main are airing for sure. Semi-main was never mentioned but with a little extra time, who knows… they might do a JIP of it or maybe a JIP of the Virus turn?

TZUKI IS AWESOME! The first fall alone proved why he is the most underused guy in the promotion and what a sick finish…

  9. Mr Aguilita ain’t tmfka Bam Bam is he?

It just occured to me when watching that match that i haven’t heard of Bam Bam for ages. They don’t look identical or anything but they’re of similar build etc and you know what a regimmick and makeover can do….

Fun little match btw if nothing amazing – not a patch on the one last year i mentioned. Shockercito looks pretty good. Now i need to find a way to amuse myself for half an hour when this fucking womens segment comes on :(

  10. Nah, they’re different guys. Check the LuchaWiki and you can see their faces are completely different. Plus this is the same Mr. Aguilita that was around for AAA in 2004.

I thought it was an awesome little match! Not on the level on the 6/30/06 match (which yes… was AMAZING!) but better than most things you get to see on CMLL TV. Shockercito got an awesome extended segment where he showed off a ton of cool moves, the mini Perros got to show off some triple team moves, Tzuki got in his moments and Pequeno Olimpico even showed off a great springboard armdrag.

The mini’s need to make TV every week!

I wonder if Momentos is getting screwed due to the million Perrito infomercials.

  11. The name of the show that Perro Aguayo Jr. is Los 5 Magnificos. It involves music and acrobatics that you would see from a circus.

  12. What show is Perro on? Big Brother? Dancing with the stars?
    “””””””””””””””””””””””””2

It is… sort of clowning with the stars, so Perrito is a natural fit… I guess… I think there was a similar show upstates with the premise of the winners getting a chance to be at Cirque du Soleil.

  14. Well… Alexis might hint him but I don’t think his cousin (?) reads it, he would have trolled some “mistico rifa” graffiti…
