05/31: Guadalajara, Monterrey, AAA/Warped Lineup (take 2)

CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 05/27 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [cmll]
1) Fraile de La Muerte b Casanova
2) Idolo & Nube Roja b Egipcio & Guero Loco
3) Arkangel & Nitro b Leon Blanco & Rayman [torneo, sf]

5) Leon Blanco & Rayman DQ Cien Caras Jr. & Hijo de Cien Caras [torneo, final]
6) Pierroth, Shigeo Okumura, Terrible b Dr. Wagner Jr., Lizmark Jr., Shocker

Better version of the results – Lizmark did turn on his partners. That Rayman/Cien tag feud goes on, though no title match is announced.

CMLL (TUE) 05/29 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [cmll]
1) Milenio b Virgo
2) Lider CO Destroyer
3) Metalik b Rey Trueno
4) Oro II b Infierno
5) Malefico DQ Magnum
6) Arkangel, Nitro, Toxico b Fabian el Gitano, Flash, Gallo

Atlantis yanked Wagner’s mask and pinned him.

6) Black Warrior, Damián 666, Mr. Águila b Alex Koslov, Místico, Negro Casas

CMLL (SUN) 06/03 Arena Solidaridad

2) Diluvio Negro I, Diluvio Negro II, Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Black Warrior, Olimpico, Terrible

AAA (SUN) 06/03 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Ciclone & Mercurio vs Akido & Euforia (Monterrey)
2) Orus & the Mummy vs karis & Ramses
3) La Parkita, Mascara Divina, Virtual X vs Mini Psicosis, Monje Negro Jr., Rey Infernal
4) Super Astro & Zorro vs Aventurero & Hator
5) Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico vs Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz

Ovaciones has an interview with Extreme Tiger. He vows to make each match better than his last. Ovaciones also lists the second series of CMLL action figures: LA Park, Shocker, Damian 666, Hijo de Lizmark, Olimpico, Black Warrior, Averno, Mephisto, and KeMonito.

This preview of the Warped Tour says the AAA wrestlers are Mini Charly Manson, Mini Chessman, Super AAA, Angel, Psicosis and Deccnis. (Scroll about 2/3rds of the way down – right before the freak show.) A trios match and two minis makes a bit more sense, though it’s a tiny crew anyway.

(El Sol de Tijuana) Medico Asesino Jr. says he’s going to go into promoting events, teaching and writing after he retires from wrestling.

Tabasco Hoy‘s short article about 15 years of AAA is notable just for the weird lists of “AAA stars” and “LLL stars”, which are just a bit off. Apparently, the Air Force stretches between groups, not to mention Vampiro would be pretty surprised to find himself back in AAA. Newspaper fact checking is a funny thing.

06/02-4 Lucha Times

AAAUS: Mesias vs Charly in a singles match, set up for the Atomico title matches, and rematch of the Air Force/Barrio Boys/Apache/Calo.

FSE: scheduled back at midnight. No preview, but hopefully things will be a bit more clear starting next week, once we figure who’s getting the Texano/Maximo program. It should be here, along with a Warrior/Japan vs Metal/Leono/Valiente mix of a match

CAN52: if things stay as they should, this should be Mistico going down in a heap

AAAMEX: Psicosis back with the Vipers, Extreme Tiger’s return

CMLLMEX: Leyenda de Plata semifinal – or final if Mistico doesn’t make it till next Friday, Mistico vs Lizmark in the semimain, and a women’s trio from Coliseo.

05/30: Coliseo, Mistico’s doctor concerned, AAA in Japan, Villanos

CMLL (TUE) 05/29 Arena Coliseo [cmll]
1) Mini Olimpico & Ultimo Dragoncito b Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween
2) Sensei, Stuka Jr., Tony Rivera b Caligula, Hooligan, Messala
3) Felino, Mascara Purpura, Mictlan b Euforia, Loco Max, Nosferatu
4) Heavy Metal, Maximo, Rey Bucanero DQ Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Ultimo Guerrero b Volador Jr.

That’s Euforia and Nosferatu’s first loss as a CMLL team, assuming I’m reading the results right. I’m doubting myself, because they just kinda loss, though it was more about Loco Max here. Ultimo beat Voldor clean, Averno fouled Maximo for being Maximo.

Radio Formula has an interview with Mistico’s doctor. The doctor, Mario Garcia Orozco, is concerned, because Mistico was to rest another week, and skipped a checkup because he had to make a booking. Orozco says Mistico’s left shoulder is 75%.

AAA NOAH (MON) 09/03 Tokyo Differ Ariake [Mario Rivero @ box y lucha]
1) Mascarita Sagrada, Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Histeria
2) Fabi Apache, El Apache, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Cassandro, ? (NOAH), ? (OZ ACADEMY)
3) Super Fly, Laredo Kid, Pegasso vs ?, ?, ? (3 NOAH Juniors)
4) Abismo Negro, Mr. Niebla, Histeria, Antifaz vs Juventued Guerrera, Joe Lider, Crazy Boy, Ricky Marvin
5) Cibernetico, Chessman, Charly Manson vs KENTA, Taiji Ishimori, Marafuji

Lineup subject to change! This would just be one event as part of a tour, I think. Mini Histeria is Rocky Marvin according to this thread.

Ovaciones has an interview with the Villanos. They’re teasing a Villano III/Atlantis rematch or Atlantis taking on one of the other Villanos in a mask match, but I presume it’s just a tease to give them an instant issue while they’re in. It’s better off it’s just a tease, you don’t want to go back seven years later.

Ovaciones notes Lizmark Jr. is the third masked member of Perros del Mal, joining Blue Demon and Canek. When was Canek in the group? I don’t recall this at all.

indy (THU) 06/14 Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutierrez Moreno Casas Geo [El Sol De Tijuana]
1) Hijo del Santo, Latin Lover, Tinieblas vs Fuerza Guerrera, Sangre Chicana, Tornado Negro

Atlas News has a video interview with Lourdes Grobet about her lucha libre photography exhibition in Madrid.

El Hijo de Santo talks to La Jornada de Oriente about the Santo biography.

Some of the Toryumon Mexico guys, who otherwise have seemed to drop off our radar lately, worked in Canada over the weekend (as previously posted in the comments, but I might as well put it here too.)

UWA Canada (SAT) 05/26 St. John’s Hall, Missauga, Ontario
1) Dan Paysa b Oscar Hanaoka
2) Passion Hasegawa b Larry Sweeny
3) Hiromi Horiguchi b Arik Cannnon
4) Chris Sabin b Sonjay Dutt and Brian Lee (Not That One)
5) Claudio Castiagnoli b Toshiya Matsuzaki
6) Lionel Knight b Amigo Suzuki [UWA CANADA LH]
8) Jushin Liger & Puma b Kazuchida Okara & Ultimo Dragon

UWA Canada (SAT) 05/26 St. John’s Hall, Missauga, Ontario
1) Sonjay Dutt b Rascal Matsuzaki
2) Dan Paysan b Passion Hasegawa
3) M-Dogg 20 b Brian Lee
4) Amigo Suzuki b Arik Cannon
5) Derek Wylde b Oscar Hanaoka and Puma
6) Hiromi Horiguchi b Lionel Knight [UWA CANADA LH]
7) Josh Prohibition b Kazuchida Okara
8) Jushin Liger & Ultimo Dragon b Chris Sabin & Alex Shelly

Yea, I had to write “UWA CANADA” just so no one was reading quick and thought these were odd shows for Canek to be headlining. Is it just me, or was there supposed to be a Ohara/Sabin NWA Welterweight match on one of these cards? Ohara’s didn’t appear, so I guess it’s him – hurt or missing?

CHIKARA () 05/26 Hellertown, PA
6) Pantera, Lince Dorado b Larry Sweeney, Claudio Castagnoli

CHIKARA () 05/27 ECW Arena
4) Lince Dorado, Pantera, Player Uno b Ice Cream Jr., Hijo de Ice Cream, Mitch Ryder

Arkangel was supposed to work both these shows, and missed his flight.

Easiest guess on Cibernetico’s surprise tonight at the AAA taping is La Parka Jr., now out of a sling.

06/01 Arena Mexico lineup changed

CMLL.com is reporting Mistico’s recovered fully from being carried out of the building on Sunday (riiiiiiight) and has demanded to face Lizmark Jr right away. So….

CMLL (FRI) 06/01 Arena Mexico
1) Neutron, Stuka Jr., Tiger Metalico vs Arkangel, Loco Max, Nitro
2) Flash, Sombra de Plata, Super Nova vs Goto, Ohara, Okumura
3) Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V vs Atlantis, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone, Mistico vs Damian 666, Hijo de Lizmark, Terrible
5) Mr. Aguila vs Sagrado [LdP, sf]

A lot more changes than just adding Mistico – they changed the tecnico sides in two matches.

OUT: Rey Bucanero, Blue Panther, Halloween, Valiente, Mascara Purpura, Leono
IN: Mistico, Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone, Flash, Sombra de Plata, Tigre Metalico
CHANGED: Lizmark Jr. moved over to the rudos, Villanos match bumped to tercera, Super Nova gets moved up to the TV slot

I’m sure I have that wrong and Sombra de Plata is not actualy making TV. CMLL lists it as just “Sombra”, and it’s would actually seem more likely to be someone new (or otherwise out of mind) than Sombra de Plata getting that slot. They also list “Metalico” in the opener, and I thought that was a typo, but now I’m not too sure.

Mistico’s booked for 5 other matches in the next week (including a double shot on Thursday), and I think he’s gutting thru them because they can’t adequately replace him. Hopefully, he doesn’t do any more damage. Gotta figure he’s at least working thru next Friday to lose the Leyenda de Plata to Aguila (if Sagrado wins, that means Mistico is done on this Friday.) You’d hope he wouldn’t be needed for anything past that if he is as hurt as it seems.

I hope Mistico has or will take CMLL to the cleaners on his next contract. I know they ‘made’ him, but if they weren’t seriously indebted to him at this point, he’d be at home recovering from surgery already.

05/29: Magnificos, AAA, Puebla, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Halcon

Mr. Aguila & Perro Aguayo’s team on Los 5 Magnificos has moved on to the finals, which will take place over the next two weeks. I’d figure CMLL would go in overdrive to get people to vote for Perro Aguayo Jr. (Mr. Aguila might as well change his name), but I can’t even figure how they’d do more than they seem to be already doing. I suspect no matches, all video packages.

A few notes from the AAA’s website update
– Psicosis II is officially a member of the Vipers – but he’s off the 05/30 card (replaced by Super Calo)
– Abismo Negro is also off the 05/30 with no mention; he’ll be replaced by an unanounced Foreign Legion wrestler. This would be the third straight taping Abismo’s missed and no one’s saying anything about injury
– Cibernetico is promising a surprise for Mesias on this show.

According to this artice, Santo was scheduled to work on a show yesterday with Mil Mascara, Silver King, Dr. Wagner, Mascara Sagrada, Blue Demon, Cien Caras, and Los Brazos. I’m thinking that’s wrong, or a lot of people arne’t going to be showing up in CMLL any time soon. (Speaking of, the article also lists it as a CMLL show, so they may not have their details correct.)

The latest Wrestling Observer says AAA offered Hulk Hogan the price he was looking for (something in the six figures) to work TripleMania, and he said no. He’s got no interest in working for AAA at the moment. AAA is still talking to Paul Wight, have talked to Sabu about working a few dates, and Sean Waltman is supposed to return as a regular act.

The Observer also mentions AAA was talking to Ayoko Hamada and Tiana Ringer (the Canadian women who filled in for Christy Hemme at TripleMania last year) as Foreign Legion women to work against the tecnicas, so they’re the best guess for the mystery women slots.

CMLL (MON) 05/28 Arena Puebla [hugo999]
1) Blue Center, Forajio, King Jaguar b La Mafia, Mr. Rafaga, Murcielago
2) Maniacop, Negro Navarro, Siki Osama b Brillante, Legionario, the Tiger
3) Euforia, Loco Max, Nosferatu b Leono, Sagrado, Stuka Jr.
4) Alex Koslov, Místico, Rey Bucanero b Averno, Black Warrior, Tarzan Boy
5) Marco Corelone b Último Guerrero

Mistico keeps on wrestling. Sucks for him. They’re building up Loco Max vs Leono.

Gran Markus Jr., who’s now driving a taxi in Guadalajara, was accused of getting into a fight with his passengers.

indy VIP (SAT) 05/26 Monumental Monterrey [RFC]
1) Fire & Mini Kamala b Bracito de Oro & Pequeno Cisne
3) Amapola & Princesa Sujei b Dark Angel & Diana La Cazdora
3) Orientale I b Orientale II, Mongol Chino Jr., Morvius, Raiden, Nightmare, Galactar, Azteca Warrior, Corazon Adicto, Sky, Titanic, Furor, Black Soul, Turbina, Orquidea Negra, Dralion [rumble]
4) Ephesto, Nicho el Millionario, Rey Misterio Sr. b Goto, Ohara, Super Parka
5) Héctor Garza, Pierroth, Terrible b Dos Caras Jr., Electro Shock, Villano III

AAA (SUN) 05/27 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [rfc]
1) Mortifero & Rey Imagen b Norteno Jr. & Panterita del Ring II
2) Mercurio, Orus, Virtual X b Karis, Ramses (Monterrey), The Mummy
3) Fabi Apache & Mini Chessman b Mascarita Divina & Sexy Star
4) Antifaz del Norte & Psicosis II b Hator & La Fiera
5) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, La Parka Jr. b Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz

I guess La Parka Jr. returned after all. I’m sensing a pattern.

CMLL (SUN) 05/27 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [KrisZ]
1) Fraile de La Muerte b Casanova
2) Idolo & Nube Roja b Egipcio & Guero Loco
3) Leon Blanco & Rayman b Fabián el Gitano & Flash and Arkangel de la Muerte & Nitro and Cien Caras Jr. & Hijo de Cien Caras
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Lizmark Jr., Shocker b Pierroth, Shigeo Okumura, Terrible

El Halcon #91 is up. It includes
– interview with Negro Casas, who feels he’s still early in his career
– interview with Marcela, who was going to use “Gacela” as her ring name, but found out at the last second someone was already using it, and CMLL just gave her the Marcela name instead
– interview with Jeque, who still is unhappy about losing the mask the way he did
– interview with Angel Azteca Jr., who is training at Arena Coliseo or Arena Mexico every single weekday.

06/10 AAA TV Taping Lineup (Merida)

Previous: 05/20, 05/30 (lineup) 06/08 (unannounced)

Air Date
Mex: 06/17
US: 07/07

AAA TV (SUN) 06/10 Poliforum Zamna de Merida Lineup [YucaRod]
1) Cinthia Moreno & Estrellita vs ? & ??
2) Laredo Kid & Sexi Star vs El Apache & Fabi Apache
3) Crazy Boy, Extreme Tiger, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera vs Espiritu, Psicosis, Scoria, Super Calo
4) Alebrije, Latin Lover, Oriental, Zorro vs Abismo Negro, Alan Stone, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido
5) Chessman, Cibernetico, La Parka Jr. vs El Mesias, Kenzo Suzuki, Ozz

Is the main event the first time Parka’s teamed with Cibernetico during this angle? I think so. This is the first date we’ve seen Parka back for, but obviously there’s plenty of time between now and then for him to return.

Latin’s back again. If they’re actually going to do Latin/Abismo at TripleMania, you’d think they would have to start making it clear here.

Looks like Sexi Star has smartened up and stopped teaming with Billy. (It’s more Gran Apache/Air Force stuff.)

The mystery people in the opener are supposed to be Foreign Legion members.

Next Tapings
– 06/17 Toluca
