The La Presna has the Perros winning the National NWA Trios Titles, which – no. They won their match easily, as Texano was never on the same page as his teammates. They won in straight falls, with Maximo getting hurt in the first (and so Texano attacked Sagrado instead in the second.)

Averno filled in for Heavy Metal and worked as a tecnico, and then later showed up as Black Warrior’s corner. I don’t know if Averno is the guy you want in your corner advising you how to beat Mistico. Maybe it was some sort of group therapy thing. Anyway, everyone’s making sure to note that Averno was a perfectly fine tecnico and may have enjoyed being one. HMMMMMMMM.

Shockercito was stretchered out.

Ovaciones says Mistico joins Huracan Ramirez as the only people to ever hold four titles. We’ve only got Huracan winning three different belts in his career,

NWA Welter: 08/05/65 – 09/24/65
MEX Welter: 04/13/64 – 10/??/65
Northern Middleweight ?

I’m not sure what we’re missing, but I think we’re safe in saying that he was quad chap for the 50 days of his NWA title reign.

FWIW, here’s Mistico
CMLL Tag: 04/14/06 – ?
IWRG Super Welter: 11/19/06 – ?
CMLL Welter: 04/11/07 – ?
NWA Middle: 04/29/07 – ?

Mistico would need to hold till June 18, 2007 to beat that record.

Ovaciones notes Sangre Azteca retained his Mexican Welterweight title over Magnifico in Coacalco. It’s a week of title matches, with Rey defending his in Puebla versus Hector, and Atlantis defending his in Coliseo vs Alex.

Magazines
Super Luchas #210 has the Vipers, Sect and Legion together.
Luchas 2000 #366 hypes up it’s show for this weekend, with people staring at their old masks.

While previewing yesterday’s show, El Occidental reports about ticket scalping and people charging for free parking around Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. I know it’s 30 pesos people shouldn’t be charged and it’s all relative, but if I could park somewhere in Chicago near a sporting event for $2.75, it would be the greatest day ever.

the Lake County Sun has a followup article about La Parkita and Espectrito at the library, showing off lucha. They agreed to a truce for the afternoon, for the kids.

In El Imparcial, Mistico says he’s going to do TV (soap opera) work, but he’s not leaving the ring to become a movie star, and he’s not taking off his mask for roles. They’re rewriting the soap to work in his mask.

Las Vegas Sun has an interview with Mike Tenay, which I love just for the fact sheet section.

Announcing traits:

Stares inquiringly at “heels” (bad guy wrestlers) when he believes their characters are not being totally up front with him.

Hmmm. Yes.

IWRG’s site is still down.
