They worked an angle off Nicho’s firing. Konnan came oout early in the show, and protested Nicho being fired, seeing as he was an indy wrestler allied with the Legion, not an AAA one, so how could AAA fire him? Konnan vowed to cause chaos until he got a face to face in ring discussion with an AAA offical. Before the semimain, Konnan got that discussion – with Cibernetico, who decided he was good enough. Cibernetico claimed Nicho was irresponsible and a coward, so he ran. On the other hand, Cibernetico was happy Konnan didn’t run, because that would mean Cibernetico could end him for good. Unlike all the foreign guys who Konnan has brought into to end Cibernetico, Cibernetico was going to get the job done on Konnan.

Main event had interference, but the Hell Brothers ended up winning. Zorro won the semimain with a foul on Fuerza (I think), and then Fuerza and Octagon brawled. Ozz pinned Laredo Kid in the atomico, and Laredo had to be stretchered out.

The mystery team in the segunda was – uh, no one. Exciting! Gran Apache beat Oriental, so we might have a mixed tag title defense coming up. After the minis won the opener, Kenzo and Mesias beat them up to set up Konnan’s first bit.

Next:
– 04/15 @ Boca del Rio Veracruz; I’m guessing we don’t get a lineup this week
– 04/20 @ Xalapa
04/27 @ Hidalgo

Bonus:

For the first time I can recall, AAA also posted detailed house show previews on their webpage – they’ve been nondescript listings previously. They don’t actually say much, but…

AAA (FRI) 04/06 Arena Azteca Budokan Lineup
1) Canibal & Kaori vs Takamura & Takuya Lee
2) Kumo & Maxima vs Galactico & Skyderman
3) Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito vs Mini Apache & Mini Cibernetico
4) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Oriental vs Escoria, Ozz, Scoria
5) Chessman & Cibernetico vs La Parka Jr. & Super Porky

Funny thing is, they’ve already posted the 04/13 lineup here. There’s not much related between the two, except Maxima and Skyderman are apparently feuding.

The other lineup is the 04/03 Feria Internacional del Caballo one. The preview talks about AAA running this building for 20 years, which…no. There’s a math issue there.

04/02: Coliseo

cmll

CMLL (SUN) 04/01 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones]
1) Calígula & Méssala b Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II
2) Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween, Mini Mr. Aguila b Mini Olímpico, Tzuki, Último Dragoncito
3) Leono, Stuka Jr., Virus DQ Dr. X, Jeque, Loco Max
4) Heavy Metal, Máscara Sagrada, Shocker b Máscara Año 2000, Misterioso II, Olímpico
5) Atlantis, LA Park, Último Guerrero b Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween

Main event was rudo/rudo. It came down to Perro/Ultimo, Perro went for a foul, Ultimo blocked that, so Perro yanked his mask and cradled him for the win. Jeque yanked Stuka’ mask, and Stuka wants a mask match.

AAA (SUN) 04/01 Plaza de Toros, Cuauhtemoc Lineup [rfc]
1) Panterita del Ring II & Virtual X b Cianuro & Euforia
2) Guerrero Negro Jr., Hijo de Mocho Cota, Rey Infernal b Angel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Condor

4) Psicosis II, Sangre Chicana, Silver Cat b Alan, Decnnis, el Angel
5) Alebrije, Aventurero, Tinieblas Jr. DQ Antifaz, Hator, Pimpinela Escarlata

Aventurero turned on his teammates in the main event.

3) Azhor & Guerrero Blanco b Johnny Reyna & Krishan [PYCV TAG]
4) Cerebro Negro & Dr. Cerebro b Freelance & Suicida
5) El Hijo Del Santo & Mascara Sagrada b Blue Demon Jr. & Veneno

This was one of those shows that had to be completely changed after the Santo/CMLL issues, hence the IWRG guys. After the main event, there were run-ins setting up a four way cage hair/mask match for 07/08: Santo vs Demon vs Veneno vs Dr. Cerebro.

Miunto Uno catches up with former stars of Los Titantes en el Ring.

Magazines
Super Luchas #206 has Tiffany, Universo and RVD (an odd trio)
Box Y Lucha #2812 has Mistico with his trophy, and a story about Intocable being annoyed with AAA
LUCHAS 2000 #362 has Universo bald, and the new CMLL debuts among other things.

CMLL on FSE #34

taped 03/25

Well…that was more effort than it was worth.

Stuka doesn’t look good doing anything that’s not his moves, which is a bad side. Jeque was completely forgettable. They whole feud was based on a low blow, which means…everyone should be feuding with everyone.

It wasn’t a disaster, it just wasn’t any good. If someone told me CMLL had wanted to do a Jeque/Stuka feud and changed their mind after this match, I’d believe it.

Main event was probably better off only airing one fall. Nothing good could come of it.
