03/30: Dos Leyendas results, lineups, GdR

ESTO

CMLL (FRI) 03/30 Arena Mexico [ova, Galeno del Mal @ box y lucha, SuperLuchas, ESTO]
1) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela b Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
2) Black Warrior, Misterioso II, Tarzan Boy b Leono, Sagrado, Volador Jr.
3) Atlantis, Olímpico, Sangre Azteca b Damián 666, Halloween, Mr. Águila
4) Dos Caras Jr., Lizmark Jr., Rey Bucanero b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Místico & Último Guerrero b el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Héctor Garza [ri]
6) Marco Corelone b Universo 2000 [hair]

Ovaciones reports an attendance of over 12,000. If that’s right, this lineup has to be considered a success; I wouldn’t have guessed they would do over 10,000.

Before the main event, they honored Salvador Lutteroth and Huracan Ramirez, with members of their families accepted plaques. Among the family members for Huracan Ramirez was Axxel, which was surely the point of the exercise. He wasn’t announced as coming in, but you’ll see a little bit lower than others are joining next week.

Main event had Cien Caras cheating for Universo (till Cien got ejected) and Bucanero cheating for Corelone. Universo didn’t want to take the hair cut, so Rey attacked him post match to settle him down. This was a bad match, but of course it would be. The rest of the card was said to be about what you’d expect – ESTO and others thought it was better than expected.

First fall of the semimain was Perro fouling Mistico and getting caught, second fall was Ultimo fouling Hector and not getting caught.

Tecnicos won in the fourth match, despite Lizmark going rudo. From reading the non-CMLL.com recaps, Lizmark Jr. might have wrestled the match as a normal tecnico, and just announced after the match that was it for him being a tecnico.

ESTO has an article about Huracan Ramirez, Salvador Lutteroth and past Dos Leyendas main events.

Next week’s cards:

CMLL (TUE) 04/03 Arena Coliseo Lineup
1) Bracito de Oro, Celestial vs Sombrita, Fire
2) Tigre Blanco, Tigre Metalico, Danger vs Super Comando, Artillero, Hooligan
3) Leono, Fabian el Gitano, Satanico vs Loco Max, Euforia, Noseferatu
4) Maximo, Virus, Mictlan vs Mephisto, Ephesto, Misterioso II
5) Shocker, Marco Corelone, Alex Koslov vs Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Sangre Azteca

Euforia and Noseferatu are (supposedly) new wrestlers. I believe Celestial is the opening match worker for IWRG, and this would also be his debut.

CMLL (FRI) 04/06 Arena Mexico Lineup
1) Super Nova, Flash vs Ramstein, Apocalipsis
2) La Mascara, Maximo, Valiente vs Okumura, Ohara, Goto
3) Atlantis, Tarzan Boy, Sangre Azteca vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Rayo de Jalisco, Alex Koslov
4) Mistico, Sagrado, Marco Corelone vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Blue Demon Jr., Mr. Aguila
5) Ultimo Guerrero vs Hector Garza

Main event makes sense based off yesterday’s finish. Blue Jr. and Rayo Jr. are surprises (guess Rayo shouldn’t have given it away months ago). Apparently, Blue Demon Jr. is still a Perro! Rayo teaming up with Wagner is just wrong.

This is the show that probably won’t make TV, because it’ll be a PPV reair week. Which makes me wonder why they started Ray and Demon this week – they’re here to look relevant and get on TV, and they won’t be this week. They must be around for a while.

CMLL (SUN) 04/08 Arena Coliseo Lineup
1) Espiritu Maligno, Karissma vs Vaquero, Carrona
2) Valiente, Super Nova vs Super Comando, Artillero
3) Virus, Flash, Leono vs Loco Max, Dr. X, Nitro
4) La Mascara, Volador Jr., Maximo vs Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila
5) Shocker, Marco Corelone, Alex Koslov vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hector Garza, Terrible

It’s like they couldn’t decide which tag match to use as the opener, so they just are going to run them both. Odd.

CMLL (WED) 03/28 Centro de Convenciones, Madreo [anto_141286 @ box y lucha]
1) Dark Angel & Lady Apache b Amapola & Princesa Sujei
2) Stuka Jr. b Danger, Valiente, Virus, Super Nova, Leono
3) La Máscara, Máximo, Volador Jr. b Loco Ray, Sangre Azteca, Skandalo
4) Alex Koslov, Brazo de Platino, Marco Corelone b Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso II
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Místico DQ Averno & Black Warrior

No tag team title match, Negro didn’t make the show.

GdR has
03/25 Coliseo: Luna Magica, Marcela, Princesa Blanca b Medussa, Mima Shimoda, Rosa Negra
03/23 Mexico: Alex Koslov, Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr. b Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso II
Black Warrior’s house.

  1. This promotion has no excuse for not drawing a sellout when they only run 4 or 5 big shows per year in their big building.

  2. Luchas 2000 has photos of the two new guys. I wonder if one of them is Soberano Jr.?

Also, AAA released the April 27th TV Taping lineup which seems odd b/c they don’t have enough tapings to cover the next 4 weeks, do they?

  3. Opener was really good in my opinion.

Next up is the 3/16 Arena Mexico tercera and then Mistico vs Perro Jr. from Arena Coliseo some time back. So I think I’ll be tuning out now.

  4. Yeah, quite enjoyed that match too. perfectly acceptable stuff.

I think the Mistico/Perro match they’re showing is actually last Sundays Coliseo main event!

  5. Really? I thought it looked like the singles match from 3/19/06… yes, a year+ ago. We’ll see I guess.

Sagrado really carried that opener. Leono is just the SHITTIEST. Right now I have him lower than La Mascara and even Maximo.

  6. Yeah, he does suck. He’s basically La Mascara with a nice asai moonsault and and corkscrew plancha.

In moderation, I quite like Maximo though. The whole gay thing is kinda amusing, and he’s not particularly awful with the basics. He can go when he wants to when he’s in with the top workers.

i’m not 100% sure on the mistico/perro match so you might be right – but there was definitely footage of some sort at the start of the show from last Sunday because it showed that amazing spot with them battling on their teammates shoulders !

  7. Relief!

Was getting a bit worried there because if none of last Sundays matches were airing on this show, we could have probably said goodbye to Metron/Jeque/Stuka on FSE :)

  8. Hopefully!

I want Jeque back permanently now that he has a chance of getting on TV now and again with the new programme structure since the turn of the year

Would be a shame if he came back for 4 weeks, lost his mask and then disappeared because he gives the impression he’s actually quite good. And i’m pretty sure i’ve read that before from mexicans who go to shows also.

It makes you wish that the various shows started airing 4 Sunday Coliseo matches earlier than they did so we could have saw more of La Flecha – especially in the feud that led up to the mask loss.

  9. Hell, it’d have been amazing if they had this TV format pre-women reappearing regularly. Think of all the great Arena Mex segundas and Coliseo terceras that never made the light of day while now all these generic womens matches make regular TV.

  10. Was it Perro vs Mistico from last week? The one with Mistico & Perro playing chicken on their teammates shoulders. I’m interested in seeing that.

  11. The highlights from this show is on CMLL.com. Maybe it’s just me but the quality of the videos seem so much more clear. Again, might just be me thinking that. Anyways, here are the highlights…

Dos Caras Jr picking up Averno out of a arm scissors. Dos gets knocked out of the ring via an Averno/Mephisto double big boot and out of nowhere, Ephesto hits a suicide dive on Dos who has his back turned to the ring. Insane! Bucanero flips over the referee onto Ephesto. Dos hits a press slam to a very nice cross armbreaker (Minoru Special) while Lizmark Jr hits a gorilla press to a side backbreaker, nice. Dos with a no hands plancha, very impressive. Lizmark Jr moonsault off the second turnbuckle (outside of the ring) to the floor and lands on his feet. And Rey wins with a spinebuster to a sitout powerbomb type move.

Hector & Perro vs Mistico & Ultimo! Very fast action. Ultimo ducks a Perros clothesline, Mistico dives but Perros catch him. Mistico hits a springboard hurracanrana on Ultimo! Ooops. Garza literally vaults Mistico 10 feet up in the air and Perro catches Mistico on the way down…with a low blow uppercut! Double 619 to the Perros. Top rope diving hurracanrana to Garza by Mistico. Garza gets thrown by a Mistico twisting armdrag. Mistico running hurracanrana to Perro who flies out of the ring. Mistico with an insane suicide dive to the Perros and lands in the front row. No! Ultimo goes for a flip over the top rope, Perros move and Ultimo hits Mistico! Hector hits a top rope backflip and on the way down, Ultimo kicks him below the belt, the ref didn’t see it. The winners, the Dream Team!

Universo 2000 vs Marco Corleone. Hair vs Hair. CMLL Dancers do what they do best. Marco enters with a shower of sparks. Universo forces Marco to submit to a STF. Huge dropkick by Corleone. Part 2. The dropkick was so nice we see it again. 180 degree clothesline from the top rope by Corleone. A very painful looking camel clutch to Universo who submits. A really short clip of interference or something, too quick to tell. Universo plancha! Marco with a huge top rope cross body. Ramp dive by Marco. There is a banner or mat on the ramp that is black and has CMLL on it. Pretty cool. Marco gets a lot of distance on the ramp jump. Corleone gets yanked out of the ring on the 2 count. Cien Caras interference! Corleone uses a small package on Universo. Bucanero grabs Universo and gives some leverage for Corleone. 1, 2, 3! The crowd jumps to their feet. Universo gets his head shaved and doesn’t look very happy with a reporter who has a microphone in his face.

Overall, the highlights look awesome. I’m looking forward to seeing the full show.

    Dive of the night: Ephesto!
