Black Magic is Norman Smiley, back in Mexico for the first time in a while. If I remember the story right, the last time he wrestled in CMLL, Ovaciones ripped his performance apart, so I hope he was better here. Nicho and Konnan (in a wheel chair) both interfered in the main event, Konnan cracking a bottle over Cibernetico’s head near the start. Manson got put thru a table to set up the win. After the match, Prez Roldan threatened to suspend Nicho and deport Konnan, Cibernetico argued against it, and Kenzo Suzuki debuted, killing the Hell Brothers.

Nothing else much big on the rest of the show. There was more Apache drama in the non-local opener, and I believe Fabi and Billy refused to fight each other. I know Robert posted differently in a comment, but I read the results as Zumbido pinning Super Fly to win that tag match. I may be wrong.

UPDATED STANDINGS (chart)
P M
12 4 Crazy Boy & Joe Lider
12 4 Cuervo & Ozz
10 5 Alan Stone & Zumbido
10 5 Super Fly & Rey Cometa/Pegasso
6 5 Alan & Decnis
6 5 Espiritu & Scoria
3 2 Antifaz & Histeria
3 3 Alebrije & El Brazo
3 3 Charly Manson & Pirata Morgan
3 3 Chris Stone & Hator
3 3 Mascara Divina & Oriental
3 3 El Angel, Laredo Kid
3 3 Alliens, Gran Apache
3 3 Juventud Guerrera & Psicosis II
3 4 May Flowers, Pimpinela Escarlata
0 1 El Elegido & Intocable

No further tournament tag matches are scheduled, so is it a three way final? Do Stone and Zumbido get left out because they’ve had more matches? Dunno. If it was a draw, that’d eliminate both the Guapo and the Air Force team.

Next: 03/10, 03/18 (Rey de Reyes)

10 thoughts to “03/03 AAA TV Results”

  1. Super Fly hurt himself on a dive before the finish which was Zumbido doing his usual pinning finisher on Pegasso but both they’re shoulders were down which leads to the four-way tie for top spot. Or at least that’s how I read it:

“En una acción rápida Fly es sacado por Zumbido del cuadrilátero, cayendo de mala forma por lo que tuvo que ser atendido sin que afortunadamente pasará a mayores.
La lucha termina cuando Zumbido toma a Pegasso con tirantes a los brazos y le pon espaldas planas, solo que el también las tenía para quedar empatados.”

Also says Ciber’s team won the main event by DQ due to the interference.

  2. And Sexy Star is Dulce Polly, which might mean that AAA and Mty Coliseo are frineds again… or maybe it doesn’t mean anything…

  3. But if it was a double pin, wouldn’t it count as a draw instead of a win, and then they wouldn’t be tied at the top?

  4. Right. The Guapos and Air Force would have 10 points each, because they’d only get 1 point for a draw.

Which would make the final only a one on one match as the Rey de Reyes lineup indicated, and so I probably should re-read the report again in the morning when it makes more sense to me and then immediately agree with Robert on the finish.

  5. I don’t think they do draws in the tournament. If you go to a double pin, you both “win” and get the 3 points. Or so I think. We should just wait for AAA to update the website and say the tournament is continuing through July.

They have said on TV that a Draw would give 1 point each. And on yesterday show they said that after Reyes they’ll run another tourney, but did not specify if a singles or trios one. I think they need to have at least Guapos in the finals of the torneo, since they are not included in the Rey de Reyes card, which is odd.

Shocker, Corleone, Bucky and Koslov are now called “The Hight Society”, which is another incarnation of the Guapos faction(weren’t Corleone and Shocker feuding?) so I don’t think Guapos VIP would be jumping back to CMLL to be in the undercard again, but you still would want to keep them entertained in a packed show like Rey de Reyes… maybe they’ll be a third team in the Reyes tourney?

  7. “Hight Society”? RVD’s contract IS up…

AAA just posted Rey de Reyes (where, despite all sound logic and reason to the contrary, Robert is somehow correct about the tag team tournament) and a couple tapings after. I’ll post lineups as I get to ’em.

  8. When trying to understand AAA, you have to remember to take the obvious answer, in this case 1 point for a draw and a straight tag final… then turn it into the more complicated scenario and go with that… in this case the four way final.

Anything that involves adding Super Fly/Pegasso to the Rey De Reyes lineup is fine by me!

  9. 03/19 AAA TV taping results

previous: 03/03, 03/10, 03/18 (Rey de Reyes) AAA TV (MON) 03/19 Domo de la Feria de Leon [ovaciones, El Sol de Leon] 0) Mini Dizzy & Mini Path Finder b Mascarita de la Muerte & Mini Ozz 1) Aero Star,…

  10. I missed the first hour of this show today. I thought it started at 3, I was wrong. The Zumbido & Alan Stone vs Fuerza Aerea was really good. Super Fly had an insane dive into the crowd from the top turnbuckle. Mexican Powers vs Cosagrados was an all-out brawl. Not as good as Mexican Powers vs Piratas, which is what I was hoping for. Viper vs Technicos was really good. Laredo Kid had a flip off the top rope where it looked like he went in slow motion, in a good way. He almost floated, so nice. The main event was alright. If Nicho is gone from AAA, if he wasn’t in this match, Headhunter and Black Magic is literally the WORST team of all-time. Nicho couldn’t make up for his teammates but Chessman had a nice 360 dive (tornillo?) on Headhunter which was nice. The match wasn’t very good and I’d like to never see Headhunter on my TV again. Black Magic is so bad that he’s awesome, in a bad way. I just laugh when I see him. I’m taping the replay tonight and hope to see the three matches I missed. I’m not sure who was involved but I’m not looking at the results so I’ll be suprised. Hopefully in a good way.

Also, is Alebrije alright? It looked like the doctors were in a big hurry with him.
