cmll

CMLL (SUN) 02/11 Arena Coliseo Results [cmll]
1) Polvora, Vaquero b Rayo Tapatio I, Rayo Tapatio II
2) Hooligan, Loco Max, Ramstein b Starman, Tigre Blanco, Tigre Metalico
3) Leono, Stuka Jr., Virus DQ Mogur, Ohara, Okumura
4) Maximo, Sagrado, Texano Jr. b Arkangel, Misterioso II, Nitro
5) Dr. Wagner, Lizmark Jr., Negro Casas b Eclipse, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero
6) Mistico b Black Warrior

Vaquero and Tigre Blanco were carted out in the first two matches. Stuka replaced Mascara Purpura in the third, note on that below. Mogur fouled Leono to end that match, so Leono/Mogur is indeed an upcoming hair match. Note the Mexican Trios champs teamed up and won, so no program there. Wagner beat Ultimo in the semimain with help from the ropes, as previously noted. Warrior won fall one of the main, but Mistico won the last two with a casita and la Mistica.

Alexis’ report notes this has been five straight Sunday shows with Mistico, and five straight full arenas.

Ovaciones has a couple injury notes
– Flash suffered a right arm injury on Sunday. It required surgery, and he’ll be out for “several” weeks. No replacement has been announced for the Rey de Aires. Who would it be?
– Mascara Purpura may have been your answer, but he’s also hurt. It’s an ankle injury, and he’ll be out six weeks.

So, young high flying guy, and we’ve already got La Máscara, Sagrado, Sombra de Plata, Volador, Metro, Leono, Super Nova, Flash, Sangre Azteca, Felino, Stuka, Valiente, Misterioso, Averno, Mephisto, Alex Koslov – Astro Boy? Danger? Trueno? Fabian? No, not Fabian.

The Perro/Garza/Aguila vs Tarzan/Ultimo/Atlantis trios match has been turned into a CMLL Trios title match (instead of waiting til next week to do it.)

IWRG (SUN) 02/11 Arena Naucalpan Results
1) Zella b Francotirador
2) Extrano, Vampiro Metatlico b Celestial, Simbolo
3) Antaris, Bacteria, Star Boy b Super Colt, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Avisman, Black Terry, Fantasma de la Opera b Cerebro Negro, Freelance, Suicida
5) Misterioso II, Pierroth, Veneno DQ Electroshock, Esfinge, Negro Navarro

Pierroth faked a foul in the main event. Freelance and Avisman are still feuding, as are Veneno and Electroshock.

IWRG (SUN) 02/18 Arena Naucalpan Lineup
1) Mr. Randal vs Volcan Negro
2) Bacteria, Antaris vs Black Jaguar, Vampiro Metalico
3) Coco Rojo, Coco Verde, Coco Blanco vs Camorra, Avisman, Supremo Jr.
4) Suicida, Freelance vs Black Terry, Avisman
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Mascara Sagrada, ? vs Pierroth, Black Pentagon, Bestia Salvaje

They’ve got Avisman listed in two matches. Gotta be a typo.

Guerreros del Ring #74 has El Elegido.
Box Y Lucha 2805 has Nicho in AAA and Fuerza vs Juvi.

Espanto Jr. is selling a Best of DVD, including his mask match with El Hijo del Santo. The article includes a phone number, if you’d like to call Mexico. Get a copy for me.

Rest of the week lineups are below.

02/16 AAA TV Lineup

AAA TV (FRI) 02/16 Plaza de Toros de Uruapan, Michoacan Lineup
1) Martha Villalobos, La Hechicera, Linda Star vs La Diabolica, Lola Gonzalez, Vicky Carranza
2) Super Fly & Pegasso vs Alebrije & El Brazo vs Joe Lider & Crazy Boy vs Scoria & Espiritu [AAA TAG]
3) Juventud Guerrera, Tinieblas Jr., Brazo de Plata Jr. vs Pirata Morgan, Fuerza Guerrera, El Dandy
4) Intocable, Super Porky, La Parka Jr., Octagon vs Scorpio Jr., Zumbido, Alan Stone, Hator
5) Cibernetico, Chessman, Charly Manson vs ?, ??, ???

It’s the foreign legion in the main event. No names are announced, but I’d assume it’d be Nicho and a Head Hunter or two.

Both Pegaso/Super Fly and Joe Lider/Crazy Boy have faced Scoria/Espiritu, so it should be Scoria & Espiritu vs Alebrije & Brazo and Pegaso & Super Fly vs Joe Lider & Crazy Boy.

Tinieblas Jr. was last on an AAA TV on 10/20/05.

Linda Star is way too young to be in that women’s trios match.

02/12: Misterio, Naucalpan,

I’ve only seen message board posts about this and no other confirmation, so I’m not 100% sure, but apparently Konnan mentioned on the TNA show (in the Spanish commentary?) that Rey Mysterio Jr. will be in AAA for 03/18 for Rey de Reyes. This, like the WWE appearance in a couple of weeks, looks to be a non-wrestling appearance. I’m surprised WWE would okay it. (box y lucha forum; el martiente)

Let’s be honest: Even if Konnan did say and Rey’s planning on doing it, I’d expect the WWE to pull him, either because of the AAA/TNA relationship or requests from the promoters of the WWE Mexico tour. WWE does seem to let lucha guys work Mexico once a year, but they don’t let anyone work non-affiliated promotions with TV shows as well.

As long as we’re talking about unconfirmed rumors, how about this equation, which I’m late on

Shocker rumored to working with WWE
(plus) Shocker missing from CMLL events with no explanation
(plus) Ocampo’s throwaway line about Shocker being nomadic
==========
??????????

As the story goes, Dusty Rhodes was the guy who got him in TNA (on the strength of his McDonald’s commercial – actually, that’s too good to be true so ignore I said it) and Dusty’s currently working as an idea man for the ECW group.

Mistico beat Black Warrior in the main event of Arena Coliseo. Ovaciones said it went 30 minutes. I may endeavor to get FSE next weekend for the sole purpose of timing it (and finding out it’s like 14 minutes bell to bell time.) Wagner’s team beat Ultimo’s team in the semifinal, with the Doctor grabbing the ropes to pin Guerrero. Ovaciones had perfectly understand results on Saturday for the Arena Mexico show (with the addition of asterisks!) but now either all the tecnicos won, or I can’t tell what’s going on. Probably the latter. Full results whenever they turn up on CMLL.com.

IWRG (THU) 02/08 Arena Naucalpan Results
1) Black Stone b Golem
2) Extrano, Super Colt b Celestial, Simbolo
3) Freelance, Kid Tiger, Mr. Randal b Black Jaguar, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Esfinge, Solar, Suicida b Cyborg, Fantasma de la Opera, Xibalva
5) Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Nitro, Veneno b Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Navarro, Villano III

Tecnicos started accidently hitting each other in the main event, and that was the end of them.

IWRG (THU) 02/15 Arena Naucalpan Lineup
2) Bacteria, Celestial vs Paramedico, Macho II
3) Freelance, Halcon Salvaje, Kid Tiger vs Estallido, Hermano Muerte II, Hermano Muerte III
4) Veneno, Hijo del Diablo, Fantasma de la Opera vs Dr. Cerebro, Suicida, Cerebro Negro [IWRG TRIOS]
5) El Dandy, Electroshock, Villano III vs Black Pentagon, Pierroth Jr., Enterrador

So, who fills in for El Dandy? Esfinge isn’t on the lineup.

Guerreros and Perros both think they’re doing another trios title match soon. (Notimex)

Luchas 2000 355 has Fuerza vs Juvi.

02/09 AAA TV Results

AAA TV (FRI) 02/09 La Plaza de Toros El Relicario Results
1) Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Charly Manson, Mini Chessman b La Parkita, Mini Dizzy, Octagoncito
2) Cuervo, Ozz b Chris Stone, Hator [AAA TAG, torneo]
3) Alan Stone, Zumbido b Alan, Decnnis [AAA TAG, torneo]
4) Billy Boy b Gran Apache [bull terrier]
5) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventued Guerrera, Psicosis II b La Fiera, Fuerza Guerrera, Pirata Morgan, Sangre Chicana
6) Alebrije, La Parka Jr., Octagon, Zorro b Abismo Negro, Antifaz, Histeria, Mr. Niebla

Latin Lover got attacked by the Vipers at some point in the show. When Abismo was about to kill Hijo de Tirantes again, Latin ran in and fouled Abismo. Latin wants Abismo’s mask. I can’t believe AAA would have Abismo drop his mask to a part time guy who may leave again, and Latin’s not dropping his hair.

Mexican Powers won with some help from Octagon. Nice to know La Fiera is still alive. I guess we’ll see El Dandy listed again in 2008. Billy/Apache was a bloody battle. Billy was apparently dominating to the point where Fabi ran in to ask him to stop and win the match already. So he did. Apache was stretchered out. Mini Charly Manson actually didn’t work opposite of Mascarita Divina, which may be the first time ever.

02/11: Neza

thegladiatores.com

Ovaciones says LA Park may be suspended for his brawl with Dr. Wagner on Friday. Among other things, Park used a folded up wheelchair to batter his opponent.

Tecnicos won the third match in straight falls, and the main event when Maximo faked a foul.

1) Akiles, Magno, Wama b Galeno, Gigante Blanco, Maquiaveliko
2) Faraon de Occidente b Iona

Accion

CMLL: Rey Bucanero, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Black Warrior, Marco Corelone, LA Park – Everyone clothesline everyone! Corelone is the winner of the clothesline battle because he did a springboard (and went last.) Finish has LA Park imploring Universo to stop walking out to the ramp every week because it’s seriously getting old, and the tecnicos using the resulting numbers advantage.

AAA: Cibernetico, Charly Manson, Chessman vs Ozz, Cuervo, Scoria [cage] – Charly escapes fine, and Cibernetico is reaching out to grab Chessman and bring him with, but the Sect pulls him back. Black Family have some new red outfits, which isn’t much black. Black Family keeps the Hell Brothers out while they work over Chessman’s knee. The wall paneling gets involved, Chessman making his comeback by speaking Escoria into it. Chessman is on top of the cage when the Fake La Parka Jr. (irony) shoves him off into the ring, onto wall paneling that had been propped up with two chairs. Morales tells us it’s Nicho even before LA Parka Jr. arrives to pull of his mask.

02/10 ELL-MEX Results

ELLMEX (SAT) 02/10 Alianza Soccer Field
1) Wizard, Mascara de Jade, ???? vs ?, ??, ???
2) Tigre, Rey Fuego, Chapulin Colorado b Black Destroyer, “other guy in black mask”, “Mexican Jake Roberts-looking dude”
3) Principe Frankie, Pistolero, K? Jr. b Malefico, Principe Azteca II, Venom
4) El Hijo del Santo, Tinieblas Jr. b Emilio Charles Jr., Villano III

It took me of driving around in circles to find the place. Putting up a white bed sheet with “LUCHA” written on it and expecting people to find it in pitch dark is dumb. I know for a fact quite a few people missed it and were looking for instructions elsewhere. I’m going to stop complaining now because no one who cares reads this, but this is why I tend not to bother to track down lucha shows in places I haven’t been.

Alianza Soccer Field is a warehouse converted into two half sized indoor soccer rinks. They stuck the ring in the middle of the first field, and filled the rest of that field with chairs and bleachers. I’d guess around 500-600 people, maybe 2/3rds of them were kids.

I missed most of the opener. Assuming it WAS the opener. Second match was horrendous and I don’t want to talk about it. Third match might have been a 2 star match (5/10) but it seemed like a 25 star match after what it followed. Principe Frankie is the best of the bunch. The third tecnico – who had a random title belt of some kind – was announced as C/Ksomething Jr. I thought it was Kendo Jr., but the mask – kinda like a Sangre Chicana mask, black with a red stripe – doesn’t match up. Maybe it was Chicana Jr.? I dunno.

Before the fourth match, the main eventers, Frankie and family members brought Chela Salazar in the ring to honor her for her career. She got flowers, a plaque, a posterboard with scrapbook clippings from her career, and nice words from everyone – it was well done and she seemed touched.

Villano III wore his mask for the ceremony, which Santo noted as everyone started leaving the ring, pointing out that he lost it long again. Villano III explained his side – punching Santo to start the rudo attack. Emilio Charles was the best guy in this match, which is some sort of karmic vengeance towards me. Santo’s looked better when I’ve seen him before, but he did all the usual. For the second straight time, Santo brawled no farther than three feet from me and I didn’t think to pull out my camera phone till ten seconds too late. I am a moron. Match was the exact legends match you’d expect from these four guys in a converted warehouse in the middle of nowhere and the fans were happy with it. I left right after the end of the third fall because I should be sleeping by now, but I guess not, huh?

I was happy with the show, but I don’t think I’ll be seeking out the Chitown ELL-Mex shows to see the undercarders.
