CMLL FSE on GdR - 12/16/06 (#18)
Recapped: 06/21/07
Unmasked: Amapola.
There's a contest in the second match to spot Dr. Wagner masks, but I totally ignore it. A little late to win it.
Match 1: Hiroka (c), Princesa Sujei, Amapola vs
Marcela, Lady Apache, Dark Angel (c)
Arena Coliseo, 12/03/06
Winner: Tecnicas
Match Time: 5:31
Approx Rating: Too short to mean anything
Other Match Notes: Dark Angel goes the pre-match promo, talking about wanting a shot at Hiroka
and winning the bodybuilding contest. Hiroka talks about Dark Angel in her
promo. One fall match.
Before the first break, Marcela has a nice sequence with Hiroka. We jump back just as the start of the beatdown. Amapola and Sujei team up for a double legdrop on Dark Angel and Lady Apache, and a double dropkick to the head for Marcela. Tecnicas turn it around in about a minute when Lady Apache sidesteps a running sit from Amapola. I forgot how rushed these one fall match seemed. Tecnicas get near falls and ref slow counts each one. We get the "accidentally missile dropkicking my partner" spots. Marcela gets a short showcase run, and Dark Angel teams up to help her against Sujei and Amapola. Rudas briefly get control, but the tecnicas move out of the way of corner charges, and hit dives to the floor. Lady Apache cuts off Hiroka from a dive and gets in a springboard armdrags. Lady Apache tries a German suplex, it's blocked, Hiroka tries a fisherman's suplex, it's blocked, and Lady Apache small packages her for the pin. Promos didn't match the layout - this is build for Apache vs Hiroka, not Sarah. She makes the belt challenge after the match.
Match 2: Averno, Mephisto, Atlantis (c) vs
Mistico (c), Dr. Wagner Jr., Heavy Metal
Arena Coliseo, 12/03/06
Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:26
Approx Rating: Nothing special
Other Match Notes: Tecnicos enter first. Wagner has his belt Mistico enters with his IWRG belt,
and Hijo del Diablo and Black Warrior masks. He explains it in his promo as a
year in rewind. exInfernales come
out separate to the same music, of course. Atlantis puts on a Chivas jersey,
which gets cheers. He does the pre-match promo - he's happy to take care of his
rivals.
1: Wagner steals Atlantis robe and walks around in it. Wagner throws it down, and Mistico picks up to use as a matador cape. Over a minute of posturing before the rudos just rush the tecnicos. Atlantis smashes Wagner's head into Monito a few times. Atlantis beats up Wagner a bit on the outside, and as soon as they come into the ring, Wagner is posing fine. Backbreaker, and Atlantis goes for the mask. Averno is doing the same with Mistico on the top rope. Heavy Metal has no mask, so Mephisto is yanking him around by his hair. Mistico's yanked down into the tree of woe and kicked. Lots of individual brawling. Metal is isolated in the ring, but they just use him as a target to toss Monito. Metal takes the double rebound hiptoss, jumps back to his feet find, and gets dropkicked out by Atlantis. Mistico in and he takes corner clotheslines. He's whipped out, and Atlantis gets him with the Atlántida. Mephisto and Averno beat up Wagner on the floor for good measure.
2: Metal and Wagner are making their comeback before the fall starts, always annoying. Mistico's down on the floor, but gets it together to monkey flip Mephisto on the floor. Wagner unties Atlantis mask completely - think everyone but Mephisto's mask is loose. Tecnico do a group pose. Things settle down to Atlantis and Wagner, with Atlantis making the belt motion. If only Atlantis had a belt. OH WAIT. Posing posing Wagner sure can do Austin's pose well. Why do tecnicos fans have kiss makeup on? Why does Wagner threat to punch a referee after a two count? Who can say. This is the same Atlantis/Wagner match you may have seen for the last hundred years, plus a weak tilt-a-whirl slam. Wagner dropkicks Atlantis out and follows with an apron tope con giro. The falls is quickly wrapped up by the other two.
3: Rudos stall on the outside, playing with the camera cable. Lots of tecnicos backing rudos up aisles, without much actual fighting. Then we get tecnicos doing finger touches in the middle of the ring. It's about 1:30 till the first actual touching. Mephisto/Heavy. Crowd is into the match, though it's a lot of posturing. Wagner gets into another random ref argument. Metal takes care of Averno & Mephisto by himself, landing on his feet off the double bounce hiptoss and running thru both guys. Cameras miss the Heavy Punch. Sliding dropkick instead of a dive. Mistico and Atlantis, who make fun of each other's jump into the ring. Pause for Mistico chants. Lots more screwing around here - this is going to be paint by numbers from here, so I think I can stop typing already. Atlantis subs out for his partners, Mistico does do the "backdrop onto someone else's back, rebound back into the ring" spot and looks generally pretty good. Dive tease. Atlantis/Wagner. Wagner dominates and gets the abdominal stretch, but Mephisto kicks him and kicks him out of the ring. Metal/Mephisto quickly ends with Metal taking a hamstring kick out, Mephisto slinging to the apron for a dive, but Metal sweeping him off. Mistico and Averno. Better pause for more chants because this one isn't going much longer. Averno gets angry at the chants. Averno misses a dropkick, Mistico headscissors to send up out, plancha to follow him. Back to Wagner/Atlantis. Wagner slips out of the Atlántida before it can be put on and gets his own sit down powerbomb. One two three.
Random clips of the bodybuilding contest to end it. That was weird.
