CMLL FSE - 11/19/06 (#15)
Recapped: 05/12/07

Unmasked: Pierroth. You can tell this was done just after last week's match, because he's wearing the same shirt and sweated all the way thru it.

Match 1: Sagrado vs La Mascara vs Felino vs Mascara Purpura vs Hiroko Goto vs Sheigo Okumura vs Hajime Ohara vs Alex Koslov in a eight man cibernetico to determine the #1 contender to the CMLL Middleweight Championship
Arena Coliseo, 11/12/06

Winner: Alex Koslov
Match Time: 12:44
Approx Rating: Good. Fun last exchange.
Other Match Notes: I have this feeling this wasn't actually planned to be Mexico vs the Axis of Evil, but that they penciled in Koslov, Okumura and Goto, and then someone realized it'd be far more amusing if they got Ohara for the final spot instead of Misterioso II or whomever. Okumura (his kung fu is stronger, apparently) , Ohara (in a UD:06 shirt and working very hard on his lines) and Hirooki Goto (looking sensible in a polo shirt) do the pre-match interviews. Goto is the only one who doesn't speak Spanish. Ohara is wearing his NWA Welterweight belt to the match, so I guess he's looking to unify here? La Mascara does NOT wear his belt, so he's not cool with me.

It seems as though they clip out the battle royal – but the teams are tecnico vs rudo, so I'm guessing they just clipped out people clearing the ring and deciding order - and perhaps the start of the match itself. Mascara/Koslov start. It sounds like it's Magadan and the young ring announcer doing the announcing here, but Julio Cesar turns up later. Koslov gets slide out on an armdrag, and is very angry at Mascara for it. Felino and Okumura next, lots of battling on the mat. Felino is about too fast for Okumura, but he can pull him a lot of different ways. Purpura must flip into the ring at all times, and does so to face Ohara. He gets his pointless in-ring flip in, and Ohara clotheslines him and kicks him down in the corner. Hajime is just scoring points with me today. Ohara misses a corner charge, Purpura slams him and heads up top – SSP? YES! That was quick. Nice insert replay.

Goto kicks Purpura out, but takes a flying armdrag from Purpura. Goto out, Mascara out after him with a plancha. Sagrado and Okumura start, but it's break time for us.

It looks like we've jumped ahead. They refresh us on who's left, with Ohara's picture now gone – that's also a nice touch. Goto and Purpura are in now, Purpura in control after a jumping back elbow. Purpura misses a clothesline, and Goto grabs him, and eventually (takes a moment for the timing) gets the arm scissors into a cross armbreaker. Purpura's done.

Okumura and Mascara in. Crowd chants for Mexico. Okumura starts in control, Mascara rallies with all the usual stuff, a bit slower than usual. Koslov cuts him off with a big back elbow and viciously stomps him down in the corner. Mascara rolls out to escape, but Alex goes out to choke him outside – referees explain to him that doesn't quite work. Goto and Felino in. Goto slows down and then lunges forward on a corner clothesline, strange. Felino just runs all the way on his own, because Felino's all about running. Cradle for the pin.

Mascara and Alex shoves, and Alex wins the ensuing brawl. Koslov's going for the mask, and he's given a count just for grabbing on. That seems unfair. Koslov, brings Mascara back to his corner, and tags in Okumura to keep the heat on Mascara. Mascara reaches for a tag, Okumura pulls him back a little, Mascara makes the tag anyway – if this was US wrestling, that would've been the worst hot tag ever. This is not US wrestling. Sagrado in, but he takes a big boot quick. Okumura ends up slamming him and going up, but taking his time doing it. Missile dropkick connects. Okumura thinks about picking him up, does not, covers, one two no. Okumura grabs Sagrado and reaches for a tag, only to realize he never actually grabbed Sagrado. Sagrado gets a waistlock , pounds Okumura on the back, switches to a front lock, and gets Okumura with a suplex after a pause. Sagrado quickly tags in Felino, who picks Okumura back up. Corner chest slaps, the fans counting along to five. Okumura turns around in the corner to stop it, and so Felino just yanks him down by his head. Whip, reversed, Felino back with a back elbow. Cover for zero, clothesline, cover for zero, Felino waiting for Okumura to do something, Okumura obliges by chest slapping him a few times. Slam – no, layout, into the reverse DDT, one two three. Big win for Okumura

Mascara in, and clotheslined by Okumura. Senton, one two NO. Slam, and he's calling for the finish. Going up, never in a hurry, and this time it hurts – missile dropkick misses. La Majistral one two three.

Down to Alex vs Mistico Stand In I and Mistico Stand In III. Alex is is no hurry to start here. Mascara looks around to get the crowd chanting his name – hey, time for a break anyway

We return to see La Mascara rolling Alex back in. Must've not gone well for him during the break! Alex gets in a sneaky gut shot to take back control. Sunset flip roll thru dropkick by Mascara, one two NO. We've reached the part of the show here Tigre Hispano is counting insanely slow. Mascara despises that part of the show, judging by his argument. Mascara with the bodyscissors roll into la campana but he can't get it hooked on, and it looked like he actually just couldn't get it hooked on. Alex fights free as both are on the mat. Whip, reversed, short drop toe hold, Alex scissors the arm and hooks the head – that's a weird submission, but that seems enough to be it.

Koslov poses, Sagrado nods his head, fans chant. Clip? Forearm battle, Koslov ducks a clothesline and lands a jumping enziguri one two NO. Koslov checks that was two and gets upset at the chant. Whip, reversed, backbreaker/gutbuster combo! Moonsault! One two NO!! Sagrado can't believe it, but they had Hispano and an outside ref counting that one and they both reached the same conclusion. Sagrado slow to follow up. Maybe he's thinking of a plan. He comes up with a bad one, slowly heading up. Koslov cuts him out, crotches him, grabs him – superplex! Both men down, Koslov gets an arm on top, Sagrado may also, one two both get a shoulder up. Sagrado's crazy fired up now. Clothesline, Koslov catches it, Russian (!) legsweep, Sagrado blocked it with side elbows, Sagrado off the ropes, Alex looking for his spot the whole way and nailing him with a superkick. Sagrado is staged but doesn't go down – all the better to get the Russian legsweep into the Red Scare! WIN!

Koslov gets a post match interview to hype up the type match. Alex is in full rabid ranting Russian mode. Magadan makes him pause so he can actually catch up and translate – and Koslov steals the mic back so he can rant more.

Match 2: Atlantis vs Dr. Wagner Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 11/12/06

  1. Atlántida (:43)
  2. Wagner bodyscissors cradle (1:44)
  3. Wagner reversed corner sunset flip with ropes (8:32)

Winner: Wagner (2-1)
Match Time: 10:59
Approx Rating: Okay enough.
Other Match Notes: This is a non-title match.

Wagner has his belt and two valets. He seems to be in his hyper mood. Atlantis is out to the GdR music, and of course high fiving with everyone he can. He's kissing small children! He may be a evil man, but he's a politely evil man. Both do prematch interviews, with Atlantis hilariously stealing Rob Van Dam's thumb points for his own name. We must do this match every two years for no particular reason.

1: Wagner is outside the ring to start, so Atlantis is daring him to get in to punk him, but Wagner ducks the first shot in and gets Atlantis down. First grab for a mask is 30 seconds in, and Wagner runs right into into the Atlántida about 3 seconds later. That was absurdly quick. Replays. You know, Atlantis can get that Atlántida on you at any time, from any direction (provided that direction is running straight at him.)

2: Atlantis is working over Wagner before the whistle blows. Choke on the ropes. Whip, big spinebuster. Atlantis claps for himself and does the thumb point! That is so great. Posing for the crowd. Crowd not appreciate. Atlantis back to Wagner, forearm to Wagner's head. Corner whip, charge, Wagner moves, and forearms him in the back of his head for good measure. Wagner trips Atlantis around with hamstring kicks. Corner whip, corner clothesline, corner whip, corner clothesline, bulldog out. Atlantis is begging for mercy, and Wagner points to the crowd some. Bodyscissors cradle, legs twisted, one two three. Wagner was about too relaxed on that and almost leaned so far back that he pinned himself. Wagner fans in the crowd approve. Atlantis heads out, and Wagner brawls with him out there, stopping to dance to a chant for him. Replays as they take it back to the ring for slow stuff. Sure looks like Wagner's shoulders were down on the replay, but they let it go. Atlantis retreats outside for a timeout in between falls, and then walks to their ramp – to find the ring girl? He's a bit ahead of the ring girl.

3: There she is. Atlantis back in, kick, Wagner catches it and walks around with the boot before doing the leg screw. Half crab – no, Atlantis has the ropes with both arms, just to be safe. Atlantis up but limping, so Wagner just grabs the bag leg and turns it once again. Point to the crowd. Wagner trying that half crab – what is this, body part psychology? QUE? - but Atlantis isn't getting. Wagner decides to put Atlantis on the top rope instead, and go for his strength – untying the mask. Atlantis begs off while facing the other way but probably should be using his arm to fight. Wagner gets it off and pulls it down a bit, but not all the way do he doesn't get DQed. Wagner then grabs the bottom half of the mask and pulls it up, but not enough to get DQed, though Hispano teases it. Wagner does get back up, so they're at opposite covers, and Atlantis gets a dropkick in. Corner whip, charge, Wagner puts Atlantis on to the middle rope, Atlantis shoves Wagner away and drops down. Wagner charges, Atlantis puts him on the top rope, and climbs to join him with punches. Wagner is so hurt, he turns and waves to appeal for cheers. Atlantis going for the mask, so Wagner grabs Atlantis' mask – this is getting is nowhere. Measured punches on the ropes, as they lean on each other like guys more tired than they actually are. Atlantis gets shoved off, and Wagner dropkicks him, one two no. Wagner slowly picks Atlantis up for a powerbomb, but Atlantis reverses with 'rana, Wagner rolls thru one two NO. Atlantis charges Wagner, Wager lifts him on shoulders, Atlantis reveres it on a bodyscissors rollup and celebrates, Wagner turns it the other way, one two NO. Crowd chanting for Wagner. Atlantis charges, right into a backbreaker. One two NO. Look at that CMLL logo. Wagner knocks Atlantis into the corner, and Atlantis asks the crowd to please be quiet. Punches and chops. Corner whip, reversed, Atlantis charge in, Wagner backdrops him to the apron, Atlantis tries a punch, Wagner nails him with an enziguri and Atlantis goes flying. So does his mask, in a different direction. Wagner goes to the apron for his silla dive, but thankful poses so Atlantis can get back together. Even then, Wagner is waiting for his spot, and stalling by dancing while doing it. Ah, it's the apron tope con giro instead. Both guys roll back in after a pause, Atlantis getting Wagner with a shoulder and heading up. Top rope plancha – well, after Wagner turns back around – is rolled thru, one two NO. Atlantis has to check to make sure he's till got a chance here. Both men tired, but Wagner drawing from the crowd. 'rana - no, Atlantis powerbomb, feet on the middle rope one two – no, Hispano sees it. Atlantis argues, and shoves, threatening to throw Hispano out, but stop short of getting a DQ. Atlantis basically can't believe he didn't get away with rope pulling one. Wagner back up, Atlantis gets him with a bodyscissors cradle, he reaches for the ropes and decides just to lean on them, one two that's too blatant for Hispano to miss. Atlantis want to know what's wrong with this referee. He grabs Hispano by the shirt, Wagner cradles him and pulls the tights, one two NO. Atlantis tries to get up, and can not. Wagner can get up, because we the fans are chanting his name. It also helps him stomp his feet to the beat. Corner whip, Wagner charges, Atlantis gets his feet up, Wagner ducks underneath, Atlantis hooks him with a corner sunset flip, Wagner reverses it back towards the corner and grabs ropes with both hands, one two three!

That was some poor refereeing! Atlantis grabs Hispano and can't believe it. He quickly gives up on arguing with Hispano and yells toward the commissioner. Nothing going on there, so he goes to sign autographs for his fans while Wagner celebrates with his fan.

Wagner is asked about a mask/mask match but just talk about it being his house. Replay of Atlantis being screwed. What a jip.
