  8. CO Stuka (16:35)
  9. Mascara rocking horse Neutron (18:09)

Winner: La Mascara
Match Time: 18:09
Approx Rating: 84. Good, but not close to the last one.
Other Match Notes: Everyone comes out just a bit separated, but Loco Max is last and way in the back. They do the battle royal for teams, and everyone beats up Loco Max to start that before they actually fight each other. Loco must've got thrown out somewhere early and we all missed it; it only become evident when Neutron is thrown out, and there's only five guys left fighting. This is a standard lucha battle royal, going 2:29. Group A is not thrilled about having Loco on their side.

Before the break, Heavy Metal talks about the cage match. After it, we get Terrible and Maximo back to back (literally) cutting promos about the match. So weird. Stop talking trash about him, Terrible, he's right behind you.

Let make a deal: when I say "Mascara", I mean the guy who's a Brazo. The other guy is just Purpura for the rest of this one.

We pick up the cibernetico with Loco and La Mascara in the ring. Circle. Lockup, break. Loco is not wearing his Guerreros tights. Lockup, La Mascara with a waistlock takedown Loco out into a reverse hammerlock. La Mascara slips under Loco's legs and flips him to his back. Loc holds on for a sunset flip, one two no. Mascara rolls him to his feet, armdrags, cover for zero, double wrist grab armdrags, Loco's out and he's not coming in.

Tags to Purpura and Stuka Jr. They're both in red. Lockup, break. Lockup, Stuka armdrag. He lets Purpura up, and they circle some more. Lockup, Purpura armdrags Stuka, and handstands up, but Stuka immediately trips him down. Zero cover, leg trip, zero cover the other, but handstand kip ups. Stuka shoulderblock, off the ropes, Stuka rolls over the monkey flip, Stuka - oh no they're completely lost. This is a sad sight to see. Stuka eventually just shoves Purpura and tells him to bounce off the ropes. Mascara under the leapfrog, rolling over the monkey flip, standoff. No clapping when you a blow a spot, Purpura!

Leono and Valiente; I'm getting him and Danger confused in my mind for no good reason. Lockup, break. Lockup, Valiente with a snap mare, chinlock, Leono immediately out, rolls Valiente on to his back for a zero count. Lockup, break. Lockup, Valiente with an under armbar, spinning it out to a wristlock and taking Leono down. Leono back up and trying for a fireman's carry, but it's blocked and he's armdragged out. Valiente running - TOPE. Leono had no idea he was diving for real - he got his hands up at the last second. Both guys are down - someone else going to come in? Eventually.

Oro II and Tony Rivera. Circle. Lockup, Tony with a waistlock, takedown, stomp, front facelock, Oro out to an armbar, twist, Tony reversed, Oro escapes with a handstand and an armdrags. Circle. Lockup, snap mare, Tony uses Oro's arms to kip up. Tony with an armdrags, zero leg trip exchange, standoff. Yes, this is the downside to an all tecnico cibernetico. I ill die with another standoff.

Neutron and Danger are the only ones left, so in they are. They announced have disappeared for the moment. Lockup, Neutron with a waistlock and throws Danger down. Danger kips up and armdrags Neutron. They both go for armdrags at the same time; they kinda crank each other's arms and go down. That's a weird spot - not sure if it was a blown spot (probably) or just a weird one (possibly!) Danger takes over with a snap mare and puts on a kneeling surfboard so he can converse. Armdrag by Danger, cover for zero. Standoff. Valiente puts his hands up (for a high ten?) and Neutron grabs one and puts in an armbar (yay.) Valiente with a handstand, armdrag, armdrag, dropkick. Tags.

Loco and La Mascara again, so we can start doing actual near falls! Loco with a single leg, off the ropes, over, under, rolling over, posing, jumping over La Mascara's slide, missing a clothesline, taking a spinning headscissors - well, it was going good. Loco ducks down, La Mascara slides out over him and ends up giving him a a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.

Stuka and Purpura again. Stuka drops down on the first pass and Purpura does a front flip over him. Stuka's all "watch, I can do a handspring backflip!" Purpura locks Stuka's wrist, and does a springboard flipping armdrags to send Stuka out. Purpura running - no hands tope con giro!

Valiente and Leono, Leono battering Valiente around to start. Corner whip, reversed, but Valiente charges in and gets backdropped to the apron. Valiente moving across the apron - Asai Moonsault onto Stuka and Purpura! Leono takes a look, runs, flips to the apron, top rope Asai Moonsault onto Valiente!

Oro I and Tony. Oro gets in a clothesline, corner whips Tony, but that just gets Tony going - running up the corner plancha on Leono. Oro following - springboard tope con giro! Tony really didn't come close to catching him, either.

Neutron in - Danger's just watching from the apron - TOPE on Oro, who went down hard again. This is why you miss four years!

Danger adds a springboard twisting plancha onto a heap of guys.

LOCO's turn! Or not, he's just going dropkick (well, miss) La Mascara. Mascara dropkicks him out. Loco thinks about fleeing, but jumps back on the apron. La Mascara tires to post him, Loco blocks, so La Mascara gives him a jumping enziguri from there. Loco to the floor now - Mascara top rope plancha!

Leono and Valiente back in, Valiente landing a running back elbow. Off the ropes, over, under, cartwheeling over, Leono lands the monkey flip but Valiente lands on his feet. Valiente ducks under a clothesline and dropkicks Leono down. Valiente charges Leono, Leono flips him up, Valiente lands on the top rope and flips down. Leono tries punching him, but Valiente armdrags him out. Leono goes out, Valiente slides thru the ropes, Valiente blocks Leono's kick, Leono catches Valiente's kick and flips him onto the ground. Valiente looks hurt, but Leono's bringing it back in. (8:19)

Before the break, Rey Bucanero talks about the cage match. After the break, Tarzan Boy and Okumura do the same.

We pick up exactly where we left off. Leono lifts up Valiente and drops him with a forward fireman's carry. Out to the apron, springboard elbow drop to the back of the head one two three. (8:42) We have an elimination!

Neutron and Danger in. Evading off the ropes, and Danger lands a twisting headscissors. Danger off the ropes again, trying for a tilt-a-whirl armdrags but failing; Neutron drops him and stomps him. Whip, Danger lands a tilt-a-whirl backwater - maybe he wanted that before. Danger kicks Neutron out, but before he can think about a dive

Tony Rivera knocks Danger down with a back elbow and stomps him on the mat. Right. Whip, head down too soon, Danger takes a backdrop but lands on his feet. Tony's kick is pushed away, and Danger comes off the ropes with a twisting headscissors. Tony escapes a tilt-a-whirl and lands a jumping side kick. Run up the ropes dropkick, and all the way up for a frog splash. One two thee. (9:56) Danger's gone.

Loco and Purpura. Loco knocks Purpura down when he's waving to the crowd. Whip, clothesline, kinda delayed sell there. Loco off the ropes, and just whacking Purpura. Running knee sends Purpura out.

Oro in, and Loco brains him with a back elbow. He's tired of messing around! Open hand slap. Corner whip, clothesline. Corner whip, Oro runs up the ropes and moonsaults free. Off the ropes, over Loco's back for an armdrag. Loco manages to backdrop him to the apron, but Oro fights him off from there. Springboard armdrags, but no one's home. Loco tries to suplex him, but Oro's got a small package one two NO! That was close. Whip, Oro with an armdrags, and rolls it around into a grounded crucifix one two three. (11:34

Stuka dropkicks Oro out, but Leono is coming in anyway. Leono off the ropes, over, trying for an up and over sunset flip but Stuka shoves him down (and Leono trips.) Leono off the ropes, 'rana is blocked at the last second by Stuka. He holds on, lifts Leono up, and gives him a big sit down powerbomb. One two three. (11:58)

La Mascara dropkicks Stuka out, and Tony takes his place. Mascara knocks him down too. Off the ropes, over, under, missing with a clothesline, into a tilt-a-whirl but landing on his feet, and ducking a Rivera wheel kick. Mascara barely gets as springboard bodyscissors into an armdrag, sending Tony out. Mascara teases the dive, but just rolls out off the ropes.

Purpura and Neutron in now. Purpura tries to rally the crowd again. Neutron responds. Open hand slap battle. Neutron's the bigger man and winning, so Purpura surprises him with a dropkick. He does let Neutron up, and Neutron dropkicks him out. Purpura goes out, Neutron thinks about a dive but sees Oro coming and stomps.

Oro charges Neutron, and takes a scary backdrop, last second turn over there . You know, it's no longer a surprise why Oro II was injured for four years, just why he ever came back. Whip, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker by Neutron. Neutron soaks in the moment a bit. Off the ropes, reverse tope one two three. (12:41)

Tony and Purpura. Purpura works him over with slaps. Tony kips up again, and runs up the corner to armdrags Purpura. Stuka in to join them, and dropkicks Purpura out. Stuka goes to his back, and monkey flips Tony into a tope con giro on Purpura! Purpura is grabbing his shoulder - he good?

Tony throws him back in for Stuka - powerbomb one two NO. Stuka looks around, not sure what to do. Oh, I guess he's not doing it, Tony's the one heading up. Top rope frog splash meets boots! Purpura gives him a forward slam, and heads up himself. There's the Shooting Star Press one two three. (15:10) Purpura poses - hey, the match ain't over! We've got Stuka & La Mascara vs Purpura & Neutron.

Stuka and Purpura in. Purpura off the ropes, over a dropkick, and dropkick Stuka into (but not thru) the ropes. Stuka shoves Purpura angrily, and Purpura shoves back. Chest slap war. Stuka yelling for Purpura to bring it on, and eventually taking him down and pounding him. Their partners come into break it up, but actually just dropkicking both men in red out. TOPE and TOPE. La Mascara rolls back in, Neutron pulls himself in, but Stuka and Purpura are down in the aisle. Why are they still being counted out - there are guys in the ring, shouldn't that be good enough? Well, they do count out both; Stuka seemed to be crawling back, but Purpura was done. (16:35)

Down to Mascara and Neutron, and we get a Single Fall note. Okay. Mascara and Neutron exchange chest slaps, both off the ropes, and Neutron side steps the back elbow. Neutron laughs about it. Chops, corner whip, reversed, La Mascara charges into Neutron's backdrop and fights Neutron off tom the apron. Plancha connects but doesn't keep Neutron down. Mascara drop toe hold, La Majistral one two NO. Both men a little slow up. Neutron with a 'rana one two NO. We're in slow count territory. Neutron with a shoulderblock, off the ropes, reverse tope misses, Mascara bodyscissors roll, and right into the rocking horse. He's barely got Neutron off the ground - so he switches to a camel clutch. That'll do! (18:09) I think that was an unplanned change of finish plans there. Crowd cheers, though not huge. People are running around ringside, and I assume that's to help out Purpura.

Replays, and then we see Purpura taking a stretcher out.

Universo 2000 and Negro Casas talk about the cage match.

Match 2: Universo 2000 vs Tarzan Boy vs Okumura vs Terrible vs Rey Bucanero vs Negro Casas vs Heavy Metal vs Maximo in a cage of death match.
Arena Coliseo, 06/18/06

Loser: Okumura (by Rey Bucanero)
Match Time: 10:10
Approx Rating: Fine for this type of match, but you don't need to see it.
Other Match Notes: Universo's belt is nowhere to be seen. Terrible's wearing the shirt. Rudos punk out Rey as soon as he comes in, and start fighting all the tecnicos as they enter. Heavy hurries to help, for all the help it'll do. Maximo gets last entrance? He's all happy till he sees the cage and doesn't want to go in.

Tecs are able to turn the tide when all four get in. Maximo wants to the cage right away, and he has to be briefed on the rules. SO then he does a yelping splash. This is a lucha cage of death match. Ring and cage looks bigger than usual. Maximo tries to escape again and is informed the time hasn't quite come up yet. Okumura does his cage dive about 3:30 in - he actually grabs onto the light supports for balance. Low ceiling in Arena Coliseo. Bell rings to escape rings at - 3:44? HUH. Was the rule "no one can leave till someone does a cage dive?" There's a break immediately after (well, there's the Brazo de Oro Keep Watching promo too.)

Tarzan is the one who actually explains to Maximo that he can leave now, in a "pick a different corner to run, I'm using this one" way. Maximo does indeed flee to another corner, but that Universo is climbing up and over in that one. Maximo blows him a kiss, and Universo doesn't appreciate it. Universo stands on the corner pose and poses instead of just climbing down. Is he going to climb down? Very very carefully. (4:08) Maximo tries to escape once Universo clear, but slips climbing, and Terrible pulls him down. Striking. Rudos in control, despite not having numbers. Terrible and Tarzan corner whip Negro, but Negro runs up the corner and the cage and climbs to safety. He's free. (5:09) Rey looking for a way out, but Tarzan and Koura have him. Terrible climbing, but Okumura and Maximo have him. Okumura tries himself, and he's stopped. Maximo starts to climb, and Metal intimidates him into stopping. Tarzan yanks him down, which is slightly more effective. Metal starts climbing, and they actually bail out of a replay to show out! Production values, YAY! Tarzan sets up the GdI sit on Rey, with Maximo holding (?) and Terrible boosting Tarzan, but Tarzan actually just leaps onto the cage like Spiderman and flees. Tarzan taunts on his way over. (6:03) Rey points out Maximo's mistake there, and - pushes him to leave? That's awful nice of Bucanero. Maximo gets climbing, Okumura turns to stop him, and Rey starts climbing the other corner. Metal and Terrible are occupied with each other, so no one's going to stop him - or they are, because Rey stops to pose on the top and Okumura gets a leg. Those two are down, Terrible's down in one corner, so Metal whips Maximo into them, and he's climbing out. No one can stop him in time. He points to his head on the way over. (7:15) Maximo is really worried now. It's him, Rey, Terrible and Okumura. Terrible works over Maximo, corner whip, Maximo moves, and stuns Terrible with a kiss. He's going - he's gone! Maximo is thrilled (7:51) Rey climbing - and pulled back again. The girls really want him to be able to escape. Meanwhile, Maximo's doing his victory dance. In the cage, Terrible has Rey in a full nelson and has Okumura climbing to add some more. Okumura thinks about running, but stays to add a dropkick. Rudos feel pretty confident. Break. (8:22)

Picking up where we left off, the crowd is behind Rey. Okumura slams Rey, and puts him in position for Terrible to do a top rope move on him. Rey tries to inform Okumura of the obvious, but he ain't listening. Terrible climbs, and climbs, and climbs right out of that cage. Okumura's like (what?) and goes after Terrible, but he's out of reach. (8:52

One fall to a finish from here. Terrible explains he couldn't let his hair be cut. Fear enough. Okumura sorta kinda lands a middle rope moonsault on Okumura. Actually, maybe they're saying he didn't, because Rey covers Okumura for two. Nice zoom in of Rey talking to Okumura. Perhaps we should avoid that. Chest slap battle. Okumura's all fired up, but hurting. Rey's drawing form the crowd. Okumura off the ropes, bodyscissors cradle reversed into the Buca Storm! Well that's quick. One two three. (10:10) Okumura got drilled with that one, too.

They waste no time with the hair cutting - are they going live to tape or something? Rey gets to shave him a bit. Okumura get shaved really changes my world view. Magadan is in the cage to talk to Rey, who tells him to listen to fans chanting for him, and at Magadan.

And we're out.
