CMLL GDR - 04/15/06 (#21)
Recapped: 05/04-05/06

random bit of Maximo and Magadan here
Loco Max acts all Loco Max while telling us to keep watching

Match 1: Emilio Charles Jr. (c), Loco Max, Nitro vs Mascara Purpura (c), Maximo, Pantera
Arena Coliseo, 04/09/06

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:03
Approx Rating: Fine. Didn't see a lot of Purpura here.
Other Match Notes: Loco and Nitro are intro'd as members of GdI, which isn't exactly true. Odd for Mascara Purpura to be the captain. His mask looks like a red version of Universo's mask, and there's probably a story to be told there.

Clip to take out the second introductions, and then another clip after the 1st fall bit. Loco and Pantera start in what we see, and Pantera gets a modified STF for a bit. Loco escapes out into a fujiwara, and then turns Pantera over on his back, but Pantera keeps up a shoulder up to prevent a pin. Loco gets him down for a one count. More mat wrestling, with Pantera almost getting a rocking horse, but Nitro breaking it up. Pantera and Loco Max tease a punching match, and then all six guys swarm the rings. Because this is a lucha libre match in CMLL in the year 2006, the rudos take control, exactly as you'd expect. Emilio does a good job of standing around and letting the suckers do the work, while occasionally slapping around Maximo since he sells them big. Loco Max lands his splash on Pantera for a pin (4:04), and then Emilio immediately gets a spinebuster and a half crab on Maximo (4:13

Interview, part 1: India Sioux talks about her childhood. Sounds like it was good.

Super Comando and Artillero tell you keep watching. Break.

Interview, part 2: India Sioux talks about what she studied.

Back in the match, the beatdown is still on. Pantera takes a double boot. Maximo takes corner clotheslines. Pantera get a questionable low dropkick. Mascara Purpura takes a backdrop and headbutt. Maximo back in, and he sidesteps a corner charge, telegraphed. Comeback is on. SUPERKICK. That was Purpura. We spend more time seeing Maximo and Panther pull Emilio into position for a while, taking quite a bit of time. Purpura finally shows up to help him, so Maximo can hit a questionably low butt bump. That's new. Crowd approves, and urges him to another - so they do. Hey, how about a pin? No, they'll just go back to their corners. Mascara off the ropes, under, over, front flip roll over (landing on his feet), Nitro sees all that and knocks him down with a back elbow. Chest slap, clothesline, Purpura gets flipped but lands on his feet, and comes back with a spinning headscissors. Nitro goes out, and Pantera comes in - tope on Nitro. Loco Max takes the rudos place in the ring, and Purpura end sup getting him with a springboard reverse tope, and then a standing shooting star press. I hate standing shooting star presses, but at least this one got the pin. (3:38) Maximo is goofing around with Emilio, and nearly misses on the double jump butt bump, so he adds a standing frog splash for good measure. (3:49

Interview, part 3: India Sioux talks about her hobbies. She likes to spend time with her family. Break.

Interview, part 4: India Sioux is asked about her favorite singer. You know, they sure ask different questions to the women (or at least those who didn't lose their mask and storm off.) She likes Intocable, but she doesn't mean the wrestler.

Third fall starts width sides equal and Maximo goofing around. Pantera and Emilio starts as the crowd chants something I have no idea of figuring out. Pantera gets the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and adds a dropkick send Emilio out. Nitro on him, with a ship and tilt-a-whirl of his own, but Pantera reverses that to an armdrags. Dive tease by Pantera, and he's going to tag out. Maximo and Loco Max, an interesting pair. Loco decides to slap Maximo in the face a few times. Off the ropes, and neither man goes down, but they're both staggered. Maximo tries it, and down goes Loco Max. Maximo off the ropes again, under a clothesline, managing a twisting headscissors. Maximo dos hi dive fake pose, and its time for a tag. Purpura moonsaults into the ring, because he really wants to be a spot monkey. Nitro faces him, and immediately takes a handspring elbow out. Purpura stand around confused. Emilio helps out by decking him. Purpura sure is tinny. Corner whip, Mascara moves, Emilio hits the corner, and Purpura puts on an abdominal stretch? Huh. Loco Max breaks it up and Emilio takes Purpura out of the ring as the other for take their places. Rudos are whipped into each other and dropkicked out. High ten for Maximo before he topes Loco Max. Pantera uses an apron tope to take out Nitro. Magadan drops "International Panther!" on us for no reason. In the ring, Purpura tries a powerbomb and gets powerbombed on his head by Emilio. That's it, that's the match! (3:01)

Dr. Wagner says Do Not Try This At Home. And by that, I mean "trying to translate a Wagner promo when you know five words of Spanish." There's a valet, here's a break.

Jesus talks to the tecnicos in the main event. I can't believe it took all these months to get the tecnico announcer to talk to the tecnicos. And Magadan then talks to the rudos.

Match 2: Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo (c), Hector Garza vs Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Mistico (c)
Arena Coliseo, 04/09/06

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:53
Approx Rating: Typical match from this crew.
Other Match Notes: What are the odds of everyone peacefully making it to the ring and the match starting with mat wrestling? A billion to 1? Maybe higher. Mistico has Que Monito. Wagner has the belt. Wagner smartly finds women to pose with. Dos kisses the heads of people wearing Dos masks? Family, I guess. Wow, no pre-match attack. There's a large Mistico chant and a long look at the crowd, and...(probably a clip)

Mistico and Damián start out with a lockup! Gotta happen once in a billion. Mistico gets tripped to the mat, but pulls off the spinning headscissors from there. Mistico lands the jumping snap mare, and then a eh armdrags. Damián rolls out, Garza in and begging off. Perro comes in to take the opposite approach and shove Mistico, and then they both laugh. Wagner into to take Mistico's place, and Garza shoves Perro towards Wagner while he flees. Perro looks at him and wants a high five - and gets it, Garza is now legal. Garza won't come in, so Perro finally stays in for his side. Crowd chanting for Wagner. He urges Perro to pose in the corner, and the crowd boos before he gets up - does Perro stop because of that, or because he thinks he's going get attacked? Wagner tries it in the other corner, and Perro decides not to do it again. All the tecnicos pose in the corner at the same time, just to prove their point. All the rudos pose - and of course, they trip over each other and all fall off the corner. Perro blames Garza and Garza begs off. That's what he dos. Wagner is ready for Perro to fight, but Perro is still thinking about it - and there's Garza jumping Wagner from behind. Beatdown is on. Perro has a nice looking headbutt, but Wagner's the one guy you wanted to do it on. Damián tosses Mistico around on the ramp. Hector beats up Dos in the ring. It's all brawling and I think I've seen this. The rudos switch partners but continue their control. Wagner and Damián end up working the ring, which Damián pulling out a corner wheel kick. Perro throws Mistico around on the loud steel ropes. Damián pins Wagner with a move we don't see. (4:46) Perro and Hector crotches Mistico into the pose at a high rate of speed. Dos stares at them from the ring, and Damián grabs him form behind in a testicular claw! I think they remembered they're supposed to beat him. Damián holds Dos over his knees for Perro's double stomp, and everyone poses for the pin. (5:33) Time for Mistico to be brought in and humiliated. Hector forces his Perros t-shirt on him, and he takes the dropkick/kick to the midsection combo. The tecnicos storm the ring to save Monito from anymore, but they're too late as usual. Replay shows Wagner got beat by a Garza kick to the face. He did kickout, not that anyone cared.

Interview, part 4: India Sioux is asked about what she's looking for in a man.

You may find this hard to believe, but the brawling is still going on. We watch Perro and Wagner as the bell rings, and it looks like Dos and Mistico are safe on the apron for the moment - in fact, they've gone back to one on eon fore whatever reason. No, Hector comes back in, not that Perro needs the help. Wagner's whipped into Garza's boots. This angers Dos, who storms the ring, causing Perro to beg off! And then Perro knocks him down and we're back to normal. Wagner sends him out and Dos gets double chops. Mistico comes in to help, and decides the best aid he can do is standing around and yelling. Garza kicks him down from behind. Damián pulls out the giant swing, and Garza kicks him in the mat. Perro wonders how we've got this long without someone doing something to Mistico's mask, so he completely unties, takes the shoelace, and ties it around Mistico's neck to choke him. Garza does a good jump of distracting a ref here. Perro tosses Mistico around while the crowd chants for him. A referee gets the string, which wasn't tied too tight. Wagner comes on, and Perro goes nuts on him. Garza has to clam him down when Perro get focused and starts beating up the ropes. Wagner side steps a corner whip and the comeback is on. Mistico flattens Perro and himself with a tope, Wagner lands the the apron tope on giro on Wagner, and Damián is left alone with Dos. That's a bad matchup for the rudo. Dos gives him a press (easily) and powerbombs him down. One two three. (3:28) Damián's not the captain, but you try telling these guys that. Oh, wait, Hector's back in, and Dos pins him with one foot. (3:51) Yay for procedure.

No break before a fall three, but maybe a clip. Wagner and Garza start, with Garza kicking Wagner down from behind and feeding him to Perro. Wagner gets free when Perro goes nuts again and loose track of who he's hitting. Hector has get him back in line. Wagner watches, and then get a revenge kick on Wagner. Garza does a funny walk, then kicks Wagner, so he does the funny walk. Off the ropes, Wagner over, under, rolling over, armdrag, armdrag, armdrags - but Hector's not there for it this time. Hector kicks Wagner in the head, and then backs off when Dos comes in again. Corner whip by Hector, Wagner backdrops him to the apron, slides out under him, and tease pulling him down by the tights but trips him up by the ankles again. Wagner back in, and he tells Damián to stop and not charge him - it's time to pose. Wagner gets in Mistico, and Damián doesn't want in. Mistico gets Perro again. Crowd is behind Mistico, but there's some cross talk. And then, they never actually fight, as Hector slips in from behind and knocks Mistico down again. Mistico goes to town stomping him, and tells the crowd to quite so they can better hear him double chopping Mistico. All the rudos back in. Mistico tries blocking a corner whip, and gets a headbutt for his effort. (Is Perro mocking Mistico's sell?) corner whip, Perro charges into a double boot, and Mistico turns a bodyscissors on Garza into a headscissors/armdrags combo. Mistico with the usual handspring flip (but onto his stomach, and then uses Garza to boost into a dropkick on Perro. Perro out, Hector still in, but after he takes a spinning armdrags. Damián doesn't seem to want in, but in he comes, and out he goes, thanks to a twisting headscissors. Mistico takes a look at Damián, starts running, and leaves the ring the other way - toping Garza! He doesn't quite get there, and Garza kinda just lets him bounce of him and drop to the floor. Mistico ends up getting up and in, though it looks like might have gotten help. Garza is thrown back in, and Dos is ready to face him. We see Mistico recovering, and adjusting his knee brace, I think. Garza kicks Dos down from behind while he's rallying the crowd. Wagner wanders over Perro's way and teases doing something. Replay of the dive - yea, Mistico crashed into Garza, and Garza bent but didn't go down.  Dos Cars is down back in real time, and Garza tries a corner whip, only for it to be reverses. Monkey flip by Dos, Hector lands on his feet, but Dos superkicks (SUPERKICK!) him anyway. Perro in, armdrags, for him, and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Damián tries chops and punches, but Dos turns around a corner whip and give shim the corner enziguri. Time for a dive? Over the top rope on Damián! The other four all come in. Rudos get the edge with whips, sunset flip rolls thru lead to the Perros dropkicking the tecnicos in the back. Hector and Perro discuss what, if anything, they should do next. Corner whip for Wagner, Hector tires a splash and comes up empty. Wagner grabs him and watches as Mistico is sent to the ropes. Mistico tries La Mistica, but it goes badly, so he ends up with a rollup instead. Wagner gets a powerbomb, and there's simultaneous pins. One two three. (6:52) Damián checks his guys for signs of a pulse.

The winners get to do the interview. Mistico and Wagner take time to talk trash about Magadan and Perros del Mal. That's it.
