CMLL Guerreros del Ring - 01/07/06 (#6)

Julio welcomes us to the show.

Ring girl Caro tells us to keep watching. This is an effective strategy.

Match 1: Universo 2000 (c), Mascara Ano 2000, Olimpico vs Heavy Metal, Negro Casas (c), Brazo de Plata
Arena Coliseo, 12/25/05

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:02
Approx Rating: Normal Coliseo level.
Other Match Notes: Entrances are shown. Olimpico comes out to Queen. Metal's wearing the IWRG Trios belt, of course. Don't leave home without it. Porky appears to have a wool coat. Olimpico can't believe his dance and gets the jacket in the face.

Directly over the entrance ramp, someone has a big Hooligan banner.

Metal and Olimpico start on the mat. Nothing bad, nothing great. They're ready to break, but Olimpico walks over to Metal and slaps him in the face. Of course, Metal comes back for more, but it's still just stuff on the mat. Mascara and Negro next. Battle over hammerlocks, eventually to the zero trip covers. They compete for crowd reactions. After Negro catches a boot and trips Mascara up for zero, Mascara starts with punches, and Negro punches back, using the ropes for a might cross. Headlock, Mascara gives him a back suplex. Another, and this time Negro lands on top for a near fall. Mascara runs Negro into the corner, and Negro ends up setting on the top rope. Mascara slaps him, Negro blocks, seated tornado DDT, and a kick to the midsection. Mascara rolls out to recover. Universo in to complain and Porky to face him. PORK E PORK E. They get the crowd going. Olimpico not sure how to approached this and, gets armdragged down. Porky is pumped. Universo tells the crowd to shut up. They do not. Universo with a full nelson, but Porky escapes with a jumping armbar. Pose! Circle. Lockup, Porky armdrag, Universo wants no more. He hurt his leg, and Olimpico helps him stretch it out, and the fans make fun of them. Universo gives Porky some chest slaps, headlock, Universo hot off, shoulderblock ain't working. Universo tries to get more steam and try again, but Porky armdrags him down, and then belly bumps him out. Universo to the floor, Porky to the apron - plancha! The other four all in, tecnicos whipped into each other, but they stop short, and they rudos collide trying to sandwich them with clotheslines. Negro gets a Majistral on Mascara, Metal takes a bit longer to do the same to Olimpico, and there's there fall. (6:18, 6:21) Replays.

Rey Bucanero tells us to keep watching. Break.

Leobardo talks to some of the front row fans buying masks from a vendor. That's a pretty good selection. I think the vendor says the most popular mask at the moment is Mistico, with Santo, "La Parka", Dr. Wagner also being good sellers. They're only 5 pesos - actually, that may be the mini masks he's also selling. Still a good deal.

Heavy Metal and Negro discuss, but Metal insists on staying into start the fall. Negro agrees, as long as he can start a Metal chant. That made no sense. Olimpico tries to get in a strike battle with him, and loses. Badly. Heavy kills him with a punch to end the sequence. Negro and Universo this time. Fans are chanting for Negro, which makes Universo mad. Universo drags Negro around by his hair when Negro tries to shove him off a headlock. Not very nice. Negro turns the tables and yanks Universo's heel. Universo claims a spinning heel kick to the midsection is a low blow. That's enough of that Porky and Mascara. PORK E PORK E. Mascara accidentally knocks Olimpico ff the apron when he pushes Porky into the ropes,, and then Olimpico holding Porky for him backfires. Porky gets the bet of all the rudos, and shoves them down in the corner. Triple running corner sit. Two? No, the rudos bail. Porky accidentally trips up Metal, and claims the rudos did it. Metal back in and the beatdown starts on him.  Triple faceslam is laughably mistimed. Well, not if you're Heavy Metal. One two three. (3:58) Rudos go after Negro, because he's easier to pull in over the top rope. He's knocked to the apron and double suplexed in. Olimpico adds a rolling senton, and that's that. (4:31) Porky is sad. He comes in to teach those meanies a lesson - then rethinks it and goes back to the apron. They pull him in and beat him anyway. Porky gets knocked out of the ring while still swinging, and almost beats a cowboy hat guy in the front row, before collapsing on two fans. Everyone lives.

Beatdown goes on thru the third fall. Metal is beat ups and sent out pretty quick - he ends up walking thru the crowd towards the back. Porky gets chopped by everyone, but pauses to talk to the crowd before he gets dropped. DOUBLE SUPLEX ON PORKY! Porky tries to roll out under the bottom rope, but is just too big to get out without someone lifting the rope. Negro in and being kicked around. Mascara's partners allow him to beat up Negro alone, and Negro draws from the crowd to battle back with a running boot. Snap mare, pin, Olimpico (almost) elbows the wrong guy, and Negro just leaves. Metal in, and taking it to both guys. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker isn't quite on line, Olimpico's elbow drop isn't slightly better but still get his partner. Universo tries his own elbow drop, gets Olimpico and Negro and Metal take turns splashing the rudos before they let Porky add the big splash, one two three. (2:10) Porky wins! Replays shows Negro slapping Porky to prevent him from splashing before they were ready. Porky threatened to clock Negro, so they were suddenly ready.

The Can52MX staff members wackily pose for this group graphic!

Match 2: Atlantis (c), Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo (c), Hector Garza, Terrible
Arena Coliseo, 12/23/05

  1. Guerreros
  2. Perros
  3. Guerreros

Winner: Guerreros (2-1)
Match Time: 13:34
Approx Rating: 87. Pretty good, though not particularly important. Good opening chapter to this rivalry, anyway.
Other Match Notes: Leobardo does the Guerrero Huddle dance with the rudos! And then he conducts a completely impartial interview with Atlantis. Atlantis gives him a black and blue mask, because he's wearing the black and red tonight. Leobardo is touched. If Terrible isn't supposed to be a PdM member, you'd have a tough time figuring it out here. Rudos jump the rudos as they enter, and it's on awful quick. Atlantis whips Perro with his own jacket!

Ultimo's beating Terrible down in the ring, while the other four are still fighting outside the ring. None of the Perros have gotten off the ring gear. Countering what I said earlier, Perro and Hector are wearing PdM shirts, while Terrible is wearing a Harley Davidson jacket. Atlantis is taking it to Perro, and Rey introduces Garza to a chair before doing the huddle dance with some front row fans! Rey's awesome. Ultimo is yanking Terrible's hair in the ring - the other two rudos join him and celebrate a bit. Double whip for Terrible, double backdrop. Rey adds a senton., Atlantis adds an elbow drop. Último picks Terrible up, and throws him by his hair. And again. He's kicked out of the ring. Hector in, and he's quickly held down. Rey bits this hand! That's not very nutritious.  They rip the PdM shirt off Hector's back. Corner whip, corner clothesline by Atlantis, rolling back elbow by Rey, and Running headstand sit by Ultimo. Everyone do the forearm taunt. Perro invites the Guerreros to come out and get him. Rey does, and nearly gets it to work. Ultimo and Atlantis pull Perro in from inside the ring, and they rip up his shift as well. Boot to the face. Ultimo with a spinebuster lift, and Atlantis punches him over. There's the slingshot hold for Rey's rolling senton. Terrible back in again, and I think it's time to finish these guys off. Yep, Terrible is whipped into a triple pump powerbomb. Garza in, before they have a chance to cover, and he's tripped so he's laying back first on Terrible. Ultimo ties all the legs together and turns it over - double reverse figure four! You must tap out! (3:40) Rey and Atlantis pose on their defeated foes. Rudo fans are happy, but how could they not be happy? Huddle dance with the ref? The ref does not like the idea. Atlantis entertains himself by heading out to beat Perro some more. Replays.

Ring girl Isela encourages us to keep on watching. Break.

Perro is staggering around the outside as the second fall starts. Rey comes out to beat him some more, as Terrible is worked over in the ring. Clip? All the Guerreros are in the ring, and Garza's teasing coming in before all the Perros try. Guerreros still get the edge, because the Perros are hurting too much. Ultimo works over Terrible with some forearms, and kicks him questionably low. Perro manages to reverse a whip and beats Atlantis with punches. He has to catch himself from following Atlantis out of the ring, instead helping his partners get an advantage on Rey and Ultimo. Perro goes back outside to brawl with Atlantis more, throwing him into the front row of seats. Terrible and Ultimo are fighting in the ring still, and Ultimo misses a corner charge, taking the knee bump to the floor. Hector's getting pay back for those head smashes into chairs from before. Rey is hurting, so when everyone else gets to the ring, it's 3 on 2. Perro goes for Atlantis' mask, while Terrible tries to do the same to Ultimo. Atlantis barely hold his mask on, but it's completely untied. Rey comes in to help, and quickly gets beat up. Terrible holds Ultimo so they can beat him a bit more. Terrible hangs Ultimo of the apron so Hector can give him a big kick to the midsection, and Perro can stomp him all the way to the floor. Rey enters the ring, while the Perros are still on the floor, and tries to ambush Perro as he comes back in, but that never works for Rey. Corner whip, Perro charges in, Rey flips him to the apron and forearms him there. Rey celebrates as Perro is down tone knee, and Garza clotheslines him from behind. Garza loads up Rey on his shoulders, and Terrible dropkicks him down. Running stomp by Perro for Rey, and he's pretty much done, but they're not covering him. They're going after Atlantis instead, so it's good he just came in. Ah, PdM mock the Guerreros with a slingshot surfboard double stomp for Atlantis. Ultimo tries to help out  but it's too late. One two three. (4:28)  Ultimo ends up being beat a bit more. No replays, but perhaps a clip.

While Perros are looking out at the crowd, Atlantis comes in and attacks - and then realizes the numbers aren't so good. Eye poke for Terrible! Terrible wastes him with forearms. Ultimo comes in to try, and it looks like they'll let him face Hector alone. Hector needs a moment to say a quick prayer. Handshake? Ultimo doesn't trust him, if you can believe that. Último listens to the crowd to see what they say, and Hector kicks him. Whip, reversed, Ultimo with a drop toe hold, and an elbow drop. Whip, dropkick connects. Terrible in, and Ultimo backs off. Terrible strikes first with a chest slap. Whip, Ultimo goes over, and drops Terrible with a clothesline. Chops for Terrible. Whip, clothesline misses, Ultimo blocks the next one, flips Terrible, Terrible off the ropes, Terrible headscissors! IT wasn't too terrible, actually. Rey quickly in for his partner, and dropkicking Terrible out. Rey wants Perro, but He and hector discuss it, and he gets Hector instead. Rey's makeup has stayed on quite well. Hector and Rey take turns chest slapping each other, and noting how little it hurts - until Hector kicks Rey's leg out form underneath him. Hector brings Rey over to the corner for Perro to go completely nuts on him, almost getting himself caught in the ropes he was going to crazy. Everyone laughs and is cared as the same time . Whip, dropkick by Hector. Armbar, Abdominal stretch, Hector lets go to whip, reversed, Rey goes under, over, and Hector clotheslines him down. Hector points at his fans. Corner whip, Rey stops short, back elbow for Hector, right hand for Perro, right hand for Terrible,, sunset flip for Garza. Garza rolls thru, Rey covers up, and Perro dropkicks him in the head from behind! Atlantis dropkicks Garza out in revenge, and now it's the captains in there. Atlantis slaps Perro in the face, which only serves to fight him out. They punch it out, and Atlantis is losing that one. Perro off the ropes, and Atlantis wins this one - Atlántida! Terrible is just quick enough to break it up before his team lost.  Ultimo and Rey dropkick Terrible out, and Ultimo goes to the mat to boost Rey - monkey flip tope con giro on Terrible! Garza gets a dropkick on Ultimo, and then climbs up - suicide moonsault on Rey! (And he nearly got his wish - Rey barely caught him, and Garza's holding his knee. Better than his neck.) Ultimo survives the situation while we wait for anyone to get in the ring. Doesn't look like it's going to happen, so Ultimo will go out - top rope plancha onto Terrible and Garza! Captains are the only ones left standing, and in the ring. Perro charges again, and Atlantis makes him pay with tilt-a-whirl backbreakers. Atlantis tries to run into a 'rana, but Perro powerbombs him down, and puts his feet on the ropes - one Ultimo low blow punches him from outside. Atlantis rolls up Perro before the ref knows what's what - one two three! (5:26) Atlantis is especially happy to beat Perro. These guys didn't like each other when they were both tecnicos, you know. Guerreros celebrate. Fans seem split.

Clip ahead to Leobardo talking with GdA while Rey poses with a female fan. He's a multi-tasker. This is their house, you know. Everyone gets to cut a promo - even the women who's hanging on Rey. That's what happens when you win, I see. Replay of Ultimo's jab to to groin.

That's that.
