Medusa pulled India Sioux’s mask for the third week. I am thrilled with the possibility of an India Sioux mask vs mask match.

Terrible fouled Satanico
4) Averno, Mephisto, Pierroth b Heavy Metal, Lizmark, Rey Bucanero
Metal got hurt in the first fall, was carried out, was about to be replaced by Maximo, and came back to finish the match. They’re checking him out today, because apparently collapsing is a reocurring problem.
5) Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero b Dr. Wagner Jr., Mistico, Negro Casas
Atlantis and Olimpico beat the champs in the final fall, and I think we’ve got a tag team title match for next Sunday.

Halloween told an el Martinete poster that he was returning to Arena Mexico in about 3 weeks.

Super Luchas #172 goes with a Mistico Returns cover, and has your pictures of Eclipse (who looks just like a tall Guy.) Luchas 2000 focuses on a bloody Hijo de Solitario/Silver King match among other things. (They’ve also got the Eclipse pic.)

Cambio de Michoacan has partial results from a recent Martha Villalobos and an interview with her; she actually wanted to be a singer.

the San Francisco Chronicle has a story about going to a Tijuana lucha show. Over on DVDVR, there’s a show report from Tijuana the week before.

Haven’t seen anything more about Galavision.

No lineups were posted today, so we’ll try for that tommorow.

Taped 07/23. Because Robert asked.

Short matches, pointless lucha tournaments, Ultimo Guerrero being a very good wrestler – I think you’re familiar with this broadcast.

If I had to rank things, I’d go

1) Dos and Ultimo working the caverneria
2) Ultimo making the finish work
3) “What do you think about the uh……. wrestlers you have to confront?”

07/30: Gala, Accion

Tim’s right; all those ads on Galavision mean no lucha libre there next week. Gala has a tripleheader of Mexican League Futbol schedueled, btu that’s not till much later in the evening, so I guess they’re just bumping lucha to reschedule other things. The 3 AM show is still listed (it’ll probably be a random replay) and Lucha de Vuleta is on (and will get one week closer?)

Video confirms Eclipse is Rey Tigre. I hope he’s gotten quite better quite fast, or this is so not going to work.

Accion

CMLL: Mistico’s return. Various highlights, with Mistico’s plancha on Perro higlhlighted and Rey and Negro’s double finish the finish.

AAA: La Parka, Gronda, Super Porky vs Abismo Negro, Shocker, Chessman from Hidalgo; Gronda looks tentavive running the ropes, and accidently knocks out hsi parnters. Estrellita got inovled to get revenge on Shocker, and Piero had no problem counting the prinfall on Gronda after the martinete. Gronda sold it big.

Ovaciones has previews of CMLL and IWRG’s Sunday cards.

Hirooki Goto is flying out of Japan to Mexico on 08/02, so I’d guess he’ll start up next week. (strong style spirit)

From one pics (and I can’t find a good big one to post yet), Eclipse looks a little bit shorter than Dos. He was tentative and not looking like a ‘ten year vet’ here, though Ocaompo says it was better than the Electro debut. Eclipse took a pinfall from Dos in the first fall, so they’re not especially protecting him.
5) Mistico, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero b Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila, Terrible
Perros had their fans. End saw Mistico dive out to Perro and the other tecs beat the other rudos.

Still not sure who Eclipse is. Once video turns up, we’ll probably have a better idea, but I’ve only seen thumbnail picks so far.

Estimated crowd was over 15,000. Santo returns next week to team with Mistico and Negro in the main event. Eclipse is not scheduled to be on any of the DF cards, and it appears they’ll be setting up a bonus main event for next Sunday’s Coliseo tommorow.

This week’s random project has been to add some more functionality to the lucha match database.

– There always was a method in the database to isolated stipulations; I defined some to be indexed this week, and there’s now a list of matches for (some) stipulations. There’s useful stuff, like every hair match in the database, and there’s amusing stuff to me, like a list of semifinal matches.

– All the different lists; events by arena, events by date, matches by stip, this week’s events, and the profile cards – all have more intralinks from one to another. Wrestlers are linked in blue, arenas in green, and stips in red.

– A stats section has been added, with lists of arenas, events, and stips indexed, and those that aren’t. Check out all those fantastic mispellings.

You might notice Arena Mexico, Arena Coliseo (DF) and Arena Naucalpan don’t have index pages. I figure they’d be both unhealthily long and screw with google’s search results (if the things I’m doing don’t mess with them enough; I might have to set up a search engine block if I start getting weird search results.)

Questions, comments, suggestions, whatever. I know the next step is working in what was taped and what wasn’t, but I still don’t know how I’m going to make that work.

On non-AAA TV shows, they’ve revealed that Esterllita is currently to Cibernetico, and Tiffany’s feuding with her. Shocker distracted Esterllita with a kiss in this match, and Tiffany pinned her for the win.
2) Oriental, Super AAA b Scorpio Jr., Toro Irisson
Super AAA (aka Colorman aka Mascara Sagrada II) got busted open but still won.
3) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera b Cuervo, Ozz, Scoria
Mexipowers want a shot at the Atomico titles, but the Dark Family said no, for now.
4) Alberije, Elegido, Zorro DQ Alliens, Charly Manson, Monsther
Alliens replaced no showing Dandy, which was good because a bunch of aliens ran in and attacked Alberije and Cuije. Alliens may be gettign his own trio; one of the Alliens was named Mugon. One wonders what sort of people would’ve run in if Dandy had appeared.
5) Abismo Negro, Chessman, Shocker b Gronda II, La Parka Jr., Super Porky
Abismo gave Gronda II the Martiente. The Vipers have seemed tecnico after they reformed but I guess they’re rudos now? AAA’s recap says Gronda needs more agility in the ring.
