06/13: IWRG results

IWRG (THU) 06/08 Arena Naucalpan Results
1) Rey Estruendo b Antaris
2) Ave Fenix, Kid Tiger b Kaleth, Macho II
Ave Fenix got pinned first in the last fall, but Kid Tiger beat both men by himself.
3) Black Terry, Fantasma de la Opera, Xibalba b Fantasma Jr., Kung Fu Jr., Vertigo
Rudos cheated to win.
4) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro DQ Masada, Okumura [IWRG TAG]
Masada used a tombstone (I presume on Dr. Cerebro) for the DQ.
5) Felino, LA Park, Negro Casas b Canek, Damian 666, Pierroth
Park’s still a tecnico here – or at least was, as he fouled Canek to get the pin. He wants a shot at the IWRG Heavyweight Championship.

IWRG (SUN) 06/11 Arena Naucalpan Results
1) Bacteria, Comando Gama b Ave Fenix, Black Cat
2) Antaris, Kid Tiger vs Black Stone, Macho II
3) Fantasma Jr., Panterita, Vertigo DQ Black Jaguar, Fantamsa de la Opera, Xibalba
Ghost had the match won, but beat Panterita post match to get himself DQed.
4) Pantera, Sicodélico Jr., Texano Jr. b Dr. Cerebro, Nitro, Okumura
Okumura replaced Veneno, and the rudo trio couldn’t work together.
5) Cerbero Negro b Masada [hair]

The cover of this week’s Box Y Lucha is a program for TripleMania, and the poster is of Muerte Cibernetica and a bloody La Parka Jr. This is the first time they’ve done heavy AAA coverage in quite some time, but it’s TripleMania.

Lucha 2000’s cover teases the Lizmarks/Averno/Mepshito mask match.

The Boston Herald read the Boston Globe’s article about lucha libre and decide they must have one of their own. That’s my guess, anyway.

There’s an infomerical half hour special on Nacho Libre on MTV tonight at 10. Reviews from early screenings are still popping up; while my hope is dwindling that I’ll somehow be comped to see this, you ought to keep an eye on the Rotten Tomatoes site to see more reviews start appearing there in the next few days.

NOAH’s side has confirmed Psicosis II, Abismo Negro, Angel, Charly Manson and Oriental are working their next tour. I hope that turns out better than I fear it will be.
