05/31 news: Tuesday Coliseo, Cibernetico

CMLL (TUE) 05/30 Arena Coliseo Results
1) Explosivo, Zetta b Polvora, Vaquero
2) Danger, Starman, Trueno b Caligula, Jeque, Messala
3) Apocalipsis, Hooligan, Ramstein b Rey Tigre, Tigre Blanco, Tigre Metalico
4) Emilio Charles Jr., Hijo de Pierroth, Pierroth b Lizmark Sr., Pantera, Satanico
5) Blue Panther, Brazo de Plata, Hijo de Lizmark b Rey Bucanero, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero
2-0. As you’d expect, they turned on Rey here again, and ripped up his tights. He’s going need new tecnico gear! I know and I’m sure Rey’s scheduled to team with various combinations of Guerreros over the next few weeks – lineups are always behind – and so we’ll see this repeat around the country. Of course, the greatest concern is Friday; Loco Max is still a Guerrero Pandilla member, last I checked.

Ovaciones suggests CMLL may do a Ultimo/Rey match as soon as next Tuesday. I hope they’re wrong. This is quite the oddly paced out angle – maximize the turn before it happens, minimize the turn when and after it happens.

Ovaciones (new) notes
– As someone – tim? Robert? – suggested, Cibernetico’s getting knee surgery and out of the ring for six months (though I suspect he’ll still be on TV), concidentally how long his suspension will last. They ran an angle with a fan attacking him and taking out his knee.
– Tickets went on sale today for Triplemania 14, on 06/18. Pena has said there will be a cage match (and we already know Cassi/Pimpi in a hair match.)

I’ll be back with a full-er update tommorow, but until then, let me point out Box Y Lucha has a transcript of it’s interview with Dos Caras and articles from the magazine (now posted in a blog format – maybe they’ll be sticking around longer?), and el Halcon is due to have a new issue tommorow; they’ve already got a teaser graphic with Terrible, Mr. Mexico, Jeque, Mascara Purpura, and Zayco, so I think it’ll get Henrik’s stamp of approval. And if you haven’t gone there already, go to rudopolis, read their stuff there, and thank them in e-mail. (Or, check out other good sites I’ve failed to plug.)

And read the wiki and help me figure out what we’re going to do with the year links!

  1. RE: Wiki Years

I say make one page called “Lucha Timeline” and link every year page to that one.

Simple, cheap, and that way we only have one big page to update rather than over a hundred small ones.

    I volunteer to do redirects!

  2. That’s still a lot of stuff we could possibly list

    – everyone’s birthdate
    – everyone’s deathdate
    – all the mask losses
    – title changes

That’s a lot to keep updated every time someone adds a bio. Gotta be a way to cut it down to something easier.

  3. I can’t believe you VOLUNTEERED instead of losing the old-school drawing straws challenge! I hope you are just as eager to volunteer when it comes time to figure out what we do with the 365 days a year.:)

After I finish making the minor changes to the Mexican bios, I’m gonna go through the ? bios since there are a lot of Mexicans listed there. I also wanna work on the tournaments page.

The other day I had the idea to start adding a “show of the day” to the Arena Mexico links where I’d post the results of a past show along with information on what happened in each match so it could be the start of a comprehensive Arena Mexico database. I think I ran this by you a while back cubs. The goal would be not to just make the results available, but to share info on finishes, angles, feuds, etc.

re: Lucha Times – the good news for cubs(hahaha) is there is another AAA TV show in 2 weeks that Fredo never got in. ~LOS ESPANTAPAJAROS! I should start an AAABlog.:)

    Rob

  4. Wherever you are, there the AAAblog is, Rob.

No Cubs game tommorow, so I think I’ll be forced to actually start recapping again!
