01/28 news: Kuroneko, Arena Mexico results

Victor Manuel Mar, known as Black Cat and Kuroneko, passed away on 01/28 at 3am in Tokyo. He wrestled in AAA, as part of Gringos Loco, and in NJPW, where he later became a referee and company official. More information about him can be found at Puroresu Fan, Wrestling Observer, Black Cat’s official site, and the LuchaWiki. CMLL.com has posted a note wishing their condolences to his family.

Having spent his career in both Mexico and Japan, Black Cat also seemed to serve as a liaison between NJPW and CMLL in the last few years, as their cross promotion has gotten stronger. He was present, along with Chono, at the Leyenda de Azul tournament (where the World G1 concept was figured out), and often is visible accompanied NJPW wrestlers when they wrestled in CMLL rings. He’ll appear again in that role this March and April on Galavision, when the matches with Shinsuke Nakamura and Hiroshi Tanahashi debut on US television.

  1. WOMEN ON GUERREROS DEL RING? Fuck.

Lucha TV hasn’t aired yet today. Magic show on now. Should be coming on in an hour and a half or so. Fingers crossed no women…

  2. I actually hope CMLL TV just stick with the 4 Arena Mex matches now, instead of 3 and the tercera from Tuesday Coliseo shows.

I would like to think they’d air Volador/BW/panther V Misterioso/Apolo/HSN, but as long as there are women on the show, even in a lower spot on the card, you just know they will air that instead.

Volador/’him’/Pantera V Sangre/Misterioso/HSN however, MUST air next week!!
